In this latest update, we have made the following changes:
Relics
We have changed relics so they now only have a single level of empowerment. When a relic is now empowered, it grants double the bonuses. Once a relic is empowered, a small upkeep cost of gold (per guild member) is required to keep it empowered. This will automatically be taken from your guild's bank (the same as structure upkeeps are taken). If your guild has insufficient gold to cover the upkeep cost, the relic will lose it's empowerment.
Note also, the maximum bonus obtainable from all relics combined is now 10% per stat.
This update brings relics into line with the balance of the game.
Please note due to this change, the empowerment of all relics has been reset, however if you had previously empowered the relic, you can choose to re-empower it without paying the initial empowerment cost again. This is to ensure guilds are not automatically paying the upkeep without their knowledge.
Creature Stats
We have been improving our back-end tools for developing new creatures, which you will see the results of in this weeks content update. Once the content update is released, we'll be looking for feedback on the difficulty of the new creatures.
Item Drop Rates
We have been monitoring the item drops from creatures and are devising a more standard approach for drop chances based on the creature types. This should make the game more balanced and fun for everyone and we will be putting this update live tomorrow.
In-house Testing
As you may know, we now have 2 dedicated in-house game testers. Our aim is to improve the game by ensuring the new content is always released to a very high standard.

I see most of the relics (unempowered) have a 1% bonus on some stats (attack, armor, etc.).Relics

Empowering will now double it, so I'd say it goes to 2%.
So does a guild now need to hold 5 relics to get a 10% bonus? :shock:

Not sure how the relics works now- but as long as they are nerfed heavily- its good.

Guys please alter this, paying so much to add 1% to add to stats is nuts, no one is going to do this, please change it to 5% per relic, and a max of 10% overall

But a base of 1% that can go up to 2% is a bit .... out of balance.
Maybe 1% and 5%; 2% and 8%; 2% and 10%; something like that would be better.

it was about 6.5 mil for the xroads, and 4k upkeep.
did a travel to blue chasm, it was 3k upkeep, not sure about empower cost.
way to much for only +2 stats and would be very expensive to hold several.
hmmm taking relics back in style ...? 8~)

We've tweaked the costs. They should be reasonable now
