...and don't forget it was pretty obvious that many of the big guilds put an effort in it to get their members all voting in the poll, while the majority of the players, often lower level with no experience for the influence of those bonuses, were not bothering/organized to put a vote in.


EXACTLY why polls should be listened to. The people who voted WERE bothered and organised and cared about the outcome of the poll. The poll wasn't 45-55...from my memory it was a much bigger gap. Based off the ingame poll that was available for everyone to vote in, it was a no to tweaks and it should have remained that way.


Anyone else that question the integrity of polls held in a place where it's possible for the same person to place more than one vote?

Anyway, RJEMs suggestion earlier looked like the most solid suggestion I've seen so far (haven't read the last couple of pages though).

Am i missing something here,, it seems to me that HCS have altered the relic issue to appease the guilds who cannot be bothered to capture and hold any relic and penalise the guilds that do make the effort

Hey, I understand that you are just trying to defend over-powered relics and unfair advantages.
Must have been terrible losing all those uber stats.
And hey,if thats what you believe in and stand for then thats cool.

+1 also we all fought hard for our relics, even small guilds like the A Team, yes we are technically a small guild 20 or so members ;) we have held and kept 3 relics easily so other small guilds can do it, they just need to man up and show some aggression.

Hopefully HCS aside from coming to a decision on 5% or 10% on a single relic ( 10 % total max) also makes it mandatory for relics to have defenders. Too many higher level and less reachable relics had 0 defenders on them. If a guild wants a relic they should defend it,simple.

Now can we address the price per hour of the empowered relics and make them 5% per relic and 10% max please :D This keeps its clean and simple = how everything should be

Small guild numbers wise maybe - 14 players over level 1K however alters that. Multiple players of that level sitting on relics will be able to defend them MUCH more easily given to the gear they are capable of wearing.

This is not about guilds that can't be bothered to capture/defend relics - this is about guilds gaining massive bonuses and there being little to no competition for them (be that because of backdoor arrangements, or covert threats or just too well defended).

You can still capture and defend relics - nothing about the change has altered that - just you won't get the same, overpowering bonuses from now on.

Surely, isn't any benefit better than none ? :)

im not defending anything,, im just pointing out how i see it,, anyone who knows me knows that i dont pay much attention to how things work in game etc and just do my own thing. and as for losing 'uber stats' again i havent really noticed.

For anyone claiming high level guilds are complaining because we have lost our bonuses clearly pay no attention to the finer points of relics...I know for one our guild and another guild have been without relic bonuses for a month. Why because we are fighting for them. Relic wars are always good times in the game and relics belong to no one but the guilds who fight for them. I am tired of hearing the same thing from players in guilds who don't hold relics complaining about them. You are choosing to play the game with out them. No one is forcing you to not hold or take one but you and the guild you choose to be in.

I am taking a step back from the details of this current update which once more was prematurelly applied and is now under revision in accord to what players suggest in this topic.

It seems to me HcS have very little feeling and insight around what it actually is like to play the game.
All this instability, unpredictability and lack of coherence is very disappointing. Its hard to design long term goals feeling you dont know what to expect next day. Every day with no update is a good day for FS.. :D .

A game structure is not supposed to be at a state of constant flux. People need to know they can count on the game. People need to be able to trust their knowledge of the game. They need to be able to design short and long term goals counting on a given game structure and scenarios.. In our case I m starting to feel FS is moving where the wind blows aimlessly. Right now FS remind me of a building site with lots of construction and functional problems and a bad contractor.

If HcS feel they must find a way to revitalize the game and keep new people registering with the game and becoming donators as well as keeping their current old members interested in the game they need to work seriously and intensively on a good overall structure. Not the surface patches.

Assuming we make it 5x instead of 3x (meaning you would need two relics at 1% in a stat to get the maximum 10% bonus to that stat). We could then look at tweaking some of the relics that only affect a few stats to give 2% instead of 1%. Not all relics of course, but a select few :)

Note also the upkeep is currently worked out as follows...

Upkeep = ((25*totalAttributeBonus)+(100*totalGainBonus))*totalGuildMembers



Hoof, didnt the in game poll show that most people felt relics were fine?

Who did you hear differently from? Lemme guess, people at EOC?

Okies, first I would like to join the crowd who asks, why did you ever bother to make a poll about it, when you don't care about the results of that poll, but goes on what a select few have said in a forum thread?


We do care - 3,689 players felt the relics were overpowered.

so why were they nerfed? If the poll said no? Doesnt this defeat the purpose of holding a poll and allowing members to have a say? But 5200 people said no they wernt which if my maths is correct...is more than 3000!

CONGRATS ON A UPDATES THAT CAUSES PEOPLE TO REALIZE YOUR NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO YOUR OWN POLLS COWS TAKE A BOW YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and catering to the few the proud those who have nothing better to do then sit around and come up with stuff that has nothing to do with what we wanted and continue to slow up your own progress can we go back to the way we wanted according to the in game poll you took and get on with the promised updates like new map and the GVG revapm and maybe the arena stuff or is it your plan to continue to ignore us.......??

here's a thought and no worries, I can take a punch. Why not remove relic bonuses from the pvp/gvg aspects of the game??I know, the first complaiint thats going to surface would be what would be the point in having them???Well, easier hunting when leveling is one, additional stamina per hour another. The arguement that even small guilds can hold them does have some merit as pointed out in a few posts here, but if you look at those small guilds they are primarily composed of players whose members are EOC or very close to it, and their stats already make it next to impossible for the smaller guilds lacking such members to stand a chance. Couple that fact with the bonuses gained by controlling an empowered relic or two and you have a very tough row to hoe in trying to unseat them from their thrones. If relic bonuses and their effect on those aspects(pvp,gvg) is the primary problem, then simply filter those gains out from the equation when the players engage in either of these aspects and that problem at least would be solved
