The best way to keep a relic is to defend the relic by getting as many players from a guild to stand on it when they are not off doing something else. This has always been the case since relics appeared in the game.
So regarding the price per hour of the relics, the price charged is based on the number of defenders stood on a relic (which is just crazy as this defeats the object of defending them)
The Despair Crystal relic has 100 defenders and the Empower Upkeep = 22,125 (per defender) = 2,212,500 gold per hour = 53,100,000 gold per day <-- This is just crazy and HCS please change this as it defeats the entire point of defending relics.

so why were they nerfed? If the poll said no? Doesnt this defeat the purpose of holding a poll and allowing members to have a say? But 5200 people said no they wernt which if my maths is correct...is more than 3000!

CONGRATS ON A UPDATES THAT CAUSES PEOPLE TO REALIZE YOUR NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO YOUR OWN POLLS COWS TAKE A BOW YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and catering to the few the proud those who have nothing better to do then sit around and come up with stuff that has nothing to do with what we wanted and continue to slow up your own progress can we go back to the way we wanted according to the in game poll you took and get on with the promised updates like new map and the GVG revapm and maybe the arena stuff or is it your plan to continue to ignore us.......??
We do pay attention to the polls. The poll showed there was a mixed opinion on it. If it showed as 51% of players wanting a change, would you then agree the change should be made?

Okies, first I would like to join the crowd who asks, why did you ever bother to make a poll about it, when you don't care about the results of that poll, but goes on what a select few have said in a forum thread?
We do care - 3,689 players felt the relics were overpowered.

If you mean to design this game listening to what people feel then you must embrace everyone including those 5012 who thought the oposite.
If you really mean to design the game together with your clients let them know your strategy too.. Discuss and form that strategy with them in advance. Do not not just apply your decision and then start moulding it depending on the reactions.
I know its hard stuff..

So you changed them anyway? The difference in votes was 1500 that is alot of people this wasnt a 5% difference in polls. It was almost 10. I still fail to see the point of asking if you were just going to implement your change anyway.

Hoof, can you include enhancements in the cost of relics please. Currently there's 4 relics which are free to capture,empower and maintain.

You listened to the smaller number of people here instead of what the larger number felt. MORE people didnt want a change of course people are going to be upset. I agree changes should be made but not the ones you have. There was nothing wrong with the old system but the % in my eyes. 5% each relic with a max 10% was the only real change needed. But that is just my opinion.

Oh and while I do believe that relics should not be playing a part in pvp, I do agree the empowerment cost are a bit psychotic as pointed out by many here. Thats 312 fsp or so, at the current fsp sales rate, 1/2 a benjamin, no relic is worth that. And the pvp advantage I was speaking of was in the arena, not in the game. What chance does the small guild member have in there when others possess such bonuses as imparted by the relics??none

so can you still explain the purpose of the poll hoof? as i said 10% is no 1% 1500 people is alot more than 80?
I am curious you cared about the opinion of 3600 people...but what about the opinion of 5200?
it seems a bit pointless getting all worked up about polls this and polls that, everyone knew that certain aspets of relic control needed looking into.
the more worrying part is the way the relic issue was completely turned on its head when it only needed slightly altering

That's great news, thanks Hoof.
Just the price of the relics to fix now. Can't we go back to the old empower method?
It worked well and cost a lot to empower them.
Considering the max has dropped from 20% to 10% surely that's a big enough change as it is
