sorry RJEM i am not flaming you ot anything but i worked very hard for my medals, i appreciate some you get by default thorugh just being in game and doing quests. SE hunting now is not profitable at all and i was more pointing this out as a general statement, and i am not sure i made any fsp on my time on the ladders due to the amount of stam i had to use/buy to fight constantly with the others in my band(s).

maybe enchancements would work, it would be difficult to ascertain what kind of gear you could win/be given for medal to be honest :s

maybe the enchacements or stat boosts could go up for depending on the lvl of your medal, i know antoher game where this is the case, would make more want to achive higher standing medals.

Trying to be constructive :s

I know for a fact that SE hunting and the bounty board are definitely not profitable now, and the latter was never really an absolute bonanza!

The old ideas all worked around a small bonus for bronze (and I mean small), working upwards to a new level (Platinum?), and stacking across all medals. That way a true all-rounder like DaFlunk or similar would reap the biggest rewards.

To be honest I can't recall what the most popular suggestions were (I think bonus skill points and enhancements, but not certain) - but I think it's a more productive and sustainable route to go down than more gear in the long run.

I certainly agree that a nice bonus for medals would be appreciated by all concerned and doesn't need to be game-breaking in any sense - so shin is on the right track by bringing this up again. It did have HCS approval at one point too!

This system kinda sounds like what HCS did for donaters and the loyalty rewards, except this time it allows access to gear.

my suggestion to make this better and add some value to medals is do a point system that just ties into medals in general where bronze gives you X amount of points Silver Gives you a few more and so on for Gold and Crystal.

You can then spend these points on bound gear or maybe even a few new potions of your choice. If you wanted to make it more complicated you could require bronze in certain medals before you were allowed access to some of the items, but it may make things too complicated?

for existing medal tallies to count, EVERYTHING gained from this ( be that gear, potions, whatever) has to be perma-bound to the player.

If stuff can be traded, then all medals are eradicated and everyone starts from the same place..

(I know Shin is now saying Perma-Bound ...)

Yea my point for this idea not profiting So it can be bound stuffs...
I just think this idea will make players much more active to earn stuffs harder! not just kill LE and get drop...

It sounds a bit similar. I still think the Loyalty Points shouldn't have been given to players who donated before the update.
If HCS wants to give players more rewards for donating (not just FSPs and an occasional +20% FSPs) so they will donate more, then loyalty points should be given based on new donations, not old ones. It's just like players that donate if there is no +20% FSPs on donations; they will not get the +20% if HCS releases that offer some time later.

Suppose I buy a solar panel so that I have my own source of green electricity and I have to pay the full price, but I think it's worth it and I buy it anyway.
If the government decides a year later to give subsidy for the purchase of solar panels with the idea of promoting green electricity then I can't claim subsidy because I bought it outside of the timeframe for the subsidy and I decided back then that I wanted to buy the solar panel.

If I got medals before HCS gives extra rewards to players that engage in various aspects of the game, then I shouldn't get a reward for those medals. I chose to engage in the aspects of the game based on how things were then and there; future extra rewards shouldn't be part of previous achievements and vice versa.
That's my opinion. :wink:

I think linking new sets or future game updates to medals is a GOOD idea. However, it can't be linked up to CERTAIN medals.

The reason is obvious. It is nearly impossible for a level 1 to be able to earn Top Hoarder or Top Player in the game. Even Top Monthly medal is unachievable for some who didn't focus on leveling right away.

The OP's idea has some merit, but the important thing is how it is implemented. Perhaps, give players a heads up before releasing the new update. For instance, if a new set requires a SE medal, let the player base know about the suggested change 30 days before the update is released.

What would this achieve? Everyone who didn't have a medal and wanted one would be scrambling to get one (increased activity). You would have more people interested AND able to participate in the new set / benefit once you realized it as well.

Its will be depends on set level :) Also lvl 1 player should work hard to earn his medal :)
nothing come easy...

And about how to release it .. simple they can spawn the new LEs on caves and u can get recipes and quests items hold them until u get the medal ... and would be better if drop rate for that is really low!

NO. Giving gear for medals is just a bad idea. The gear will be outdated in a few months and then people will be complaining about that. Or they will complain that the gear isn't the right level, or have the right stats, or this, or that. The only thing I see from gear as a medal reward is a LOT of unhappy people.

I know for a fact that all you 1k's who want this gear would be pissed if they do implement this and the gear is level 50 or 100. And how would lower levels feel if the gear from their medals can only be used at level 600 or 700?

NO NO NO.

Just give a small boost for medals, IF ANYTHING. Personally I don't think they need any bonus at all, they are MEDALS. You know, to show you have done something. Not do something that gives a reward and then get ANOTHER reward when your finished badges.

If any reward should be given it should be something simple. Like an extra backpack space or +10 max stamina. But it really is sad the direction this game has been heading: It seems like players are rating the amount of fun an activity has according to how much profit they can make from it. Gimme, gimme gimme!!! :(

Is there any of the decent sets in game outdated in 1 month ? Only LE sets outdated in game the ones under lvl 500 and its outdated cuz HCs released sets break it and this was after using these sets in 1 year...

I find it funny that a person pretty much demanding NEW POWERFUL GEAR is saying I don't like a challenge. Look in the mirror please. I have no problem with a challenge, but I also believe that having medals give GEAR is just going way too far. Find another way to get new gear. Medal bonuses should work for ALL PLAYERS, ALL THE TIME (provided they have the medal, of course), not some of the players, some of the time. Give medals a small XP gain (say 5 xp/h for each level of the medal [max of 20 xp/h per medal]) or, as was suggested earlier, let them take some enchantments a bit over 100%. Gear is NOT the way to go about medals.
