Look at me! Look at me!

All we're saying is stam required to gain one level through normal hunting should be cheaper than using the gain 1% xp upgrade. Ask around your guild and see how many 1100+ people are dissatisified before you go off calling everyone whiners. We're just trying to make the game better for everyone.

If I were the Cows, I'd look at how many levels at EOC I can pump out per week, and the take 16,800 (stam gain per week at 100/hr) and divide it by the levels per week, then discount it some to allow for self-buffing. So if they are putting out an average of 3 levels a week, having those levels take 5000 stam to hunt through (using the usual buffs) makes perfect sense - that way by the time players finish leveling through the last release, the next release will be just about ready.

now this, albeit it not the greatest option, is one of the most sensible things i've heard. but that 5000 would have to be based on 'standard' buffs and pots and 'standard' gear. but...the biggest problem is people's stam banks.

yes, stam per level is getting out of hand (without uber pots). and yes making 1100+ content 2-hit made it worse. so come all, lets collectively whine, and hope someone hears us :(

Mistle also goes into the issue in more depth in this thread http://forum.fallens...hp?f=1&t=103045

I'm not sure why it was necessary for the OP to start a whole new thread when the previous thread by another player was more then adequate. He even posted last at the time I wrote this. Maybe he thinks his thread authorship will gain more attention.

Stam cost is the most ridiculous argument against dumb-leveling, dumb-leveling being using the same setup and only having to press 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. So what if you can't one-hit? No one else can either.

Those that want will buy the +1% upgrade. They can only do it until EOC(thankfully) and using the upgrade before that they are paying the cows and helping to fund the game by sinking dots. Good for the game!

I only would hope that the devs recognize that dumb-leveling is really what has players leaving the game. Doubling the stam cost/level only aids in their decision.

I take that back. The cows just simply aren't going to.respond. oh, they've read it and they just don't care. They're going to take our hard earned money and throw it.in another game they won't complete for several years yet and continue banging this game until no one plays it anymore.

sounds familiar...

Not been on the forum for a few months, lots going on I see.

This thread is by far the most useful thread created. Please HCS read and take note and have a think about how to resolve this. Plus when you do resolve this please reimburse all the players who used exceptionally high amounts of stam to level up on the existing calculations.

Why would anyone who is going to cover a 10 level release of content actually level and not just use FSP to add 1% towards a level, when that is a more efficient method.

Maybe you need to recruit a new developer to release content quicker as there is always at least 30 players at EOC a couple of days after the release of new content.

Just a daft idea to throw into the mix, probably complete rubbish but here you go - Make the leveling more about a quest per level interlinking several levels by killing certain creatures, who are tougher than the regular 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 job. The quest stages will open the next door and also give you enough XP to overcome the obscene amount of XP needed to level.

I have had a few beers and it just came into my head as I typed this post

Not so daft an idea Oldskool :)

I'd expand it some by having a new city somewhat like Karthak (I can't believe I just said that!). In this city all areas would be accessable regardless of level but every stairway would require something to gain access. A quest, a particualr item, found or invented, or a number of creature kills (none of which need to be in the map with the stairway). I'd roll a dice (RNG) for each player as they first enter a map so the location/s of quests, objects or features in that map are unique to that player. This would make all that get there have to do each task without prior knowledge won and shared by the first there. Creature levels could be spread around the city and cover the levels that would be required to complete the content but not tied to a linear progression through the maps so there will be some sub leveling and some hunting above level.

I could see this as content that would allow the coders a stepping stone to a new formula for creature xp and / or xp per level to come in the content that follows. Hopefully that would save the problem of compensating those that go through content with a formula that gets changed for those that come after.

The biggest issue will be keeping it fair and consistent for future players. Meaning, if they changed the formula, what would the ramifications be to your existing XP?
