Yes it did lag more than normal, but so what! I still managed to burn 3k stamina in about 15 minutes. I would have rathered some work done on the servers before the event happened, but nevertheless I enjoyed the event, and if you can't enjoy it without complaining, just don't play it at all. You're not the only one who had severe lag, so get over it!

no! i will not get over it! it like this every time. I didnt hunt at all becuase no matter what server I was on it took almost a min to go from page to page. I am not happy play this game as much as I was A year ago. there are Lots Of us who feel the same way!
So it wasn't ideal for you, you didn't have to hunt! And you decided not to hunt, good for you! Well I seen many people achieve 30+ levels yesterday, so either your computer is from the 90s or you just aren't patient enough to wait a few more seconds to kill.

I hunted right at the beginning when the lag was worst and still burnt 15k stam in 3.5 hrs. So I can say I must have gotten lucky. Just seems like a lot of complaints over the lag. But at same time got people saying they had no lag. If you didnt like the event fine. BUT it did increase game #s even if for only 1 day. It increased BB/PvP activity and generally made alot of people happy while making the cows $$. I'd say it was a success
Agreed! And most of the people I talked to enjoyed it. Not everyone will be perfectly happy with the event. It was definitely a success, and hopefully another one in the future will run even better with the new upgraded servers.

As for caching failures.....in IE that's what the F5 key is for....REFRESH. It works, quit your belly aching.
1 minute to change pages?! Switch from dialup and the old 8.8 bod rate modem you got.
Alot of people had issues (me too) but, I enjoyed it alot.
In all honesty, I would say other stuff but, I would end up on HCS's naughty list for the words and phrases of comparison I would do.
HCS, mild issues and I hope you will do it again. It was a blast and a half!
Now, as for asking for critters in the caves........
It would be nice for those who have a ton of gold they wish to get rid of to do. I think though, take your time and get the server issues fixed a bit and then.....surprise us with another event. You know, a 2X Xp event to test out the server changes. LOL

One way to reslove it si to make sure FS is the only thing running.
Installing a program (such as CrapCleaner, free) will help. It is at www.ccleaner.com
Also remember to make sure your browser is not over clocking your CPU and system usage (IE seems to be okay on all computers).
As for the event....gold or bust.....
I find it went over like gold (myself).
I hunted at both high times of the event and just had to keep refreshing the screen on the caching issues.
If some folks took my previous comment to heart remember......
I am the wool jock strap of FS. I am here to rub people the wrong way (sometimes). LOL:)

I only hit one really bad lag spike during my hunt(about 15k in 2.5 hours), and I think I only ran across 3 cache failures during the entire thing.
Good to see you looking at server replacements; it shows a commitment to improving the game's functionality - even if some will argue it came about one triple-XP event too late.

I'll even go so far as to say that I spent my stamina faster than in the past. Sorry to rub salt in some sore spots for some folks but I hardly had any cache failures either.
The only downer for me was wiki being down when I hit some dark realms but a cat's eye potion and some patience made that a non issue as well. I'll have to go back and 'clean up' after myself to do quests but that is standard operating procedure for me when I hunt big and burn the best buffs so that too is a non issue. I was rather expecting the wiki failure, hadn't anticipated how far I leveled so found I didn't have the later maps already open from an up time when I did my initial preparations for what I anticipated being the extent of my hunt.
Overall, I'd say planning ahead saved me a lot of headache and heartache that others experienced.
ArxWarrior - I was having the same problem you described until I switched browsers to chrome for playing FS. I was trying to play on FF 4 and later on FF5, restarting the browser every time that I lost the move key and number pad functionality. If you're determined to stay on firefox try to roll back your version to one of the 3.xx versions and turn the auto-updater off. That solution has also worked for several others so odds are it will help you too.

TY for the info.
I myself use IE cause of the program I need to run to transulate it so I can hear the game. Using a screenreader limits me to the programs I can use to access the game.
Either way, with a voice program to read stuff and, with everything else going on during the event, I must say it was great.
I wouldn't say breaking people up into groups to hunt, I remember when it use to be 2.8K+ on at the same time and, very little lag.
As for reducing the gold from creature kills, no. Some people do the Xp event to build their gold up cause they have almost none. However, slapping a few critters in the caves can reduce peoples stockpile of gold from this event rather nicely.
I hope to see another Xp event like this again however, maybe a few extra days warning would be nice but.....no major complaints on my end.

A great idea, but why wait until the end of the event to fix the lag?
I don't think it had anything to do with 'fixing', just far less people actually hunting.
I hunted towards the end, hoping for he numbers to be down enough for the lag to be 'normal', starting at 8.30 ST, and managed to get through 30k stam in 4 hours, with virtually no caching failures, and just the occasional complete standstill for a few minutes.
Remembering the epic 2 day double xp/gold event years ago after a giant rollback, this was much much better.
Sure, the lag was bad, sure it will be great if they can finally fix these issues, but we also watched RD grind through the lag for 10 hours on an epic 200 level run, shows it could be done if you have the backbone to do so, and are sufficiently mad, of course.
All in all, this was a fun event, and hope to see more of them in the future.
Now, as for asking for critters in the caves........

A goldsink is definitely needed though, and the scavenging in caves is LONG overdue.
A lot of the potions that are helping out the lower levels are gold-based, while farmers, mostly low levels too, are getting paid in fsp, leaving inventors with massive amounts of gold they can't get rid off at decent prices, which in the end just means the farmers will end up getting less and less fsp for their stam. Not all so-called goldhoarders make their money playing the MP.

Lag was horrible and I probably lost about 5-10 maybe even 20 minutes off my AL and LiB 500 pots
:/ and obviously others but these 2 are the most expensive.
TEW regains its 3rd place in top 250
