B)
Good-The light source is in a good spot and comes from a source outside the picture. The text seems to have reasonable placement and is ok colorwise (although a little bit higher would've been nice). Flow goes in one direction.
Bad-There are places that are blurred that don't look like they should be blurred. I'm not a big fan of the effects (smudging?) around Spidey. A small gaussian blur would've been nice so the effect would still be there, but doesn't disrupt the flow or take attention away from spidey. The random black patch in the bottom left corner is sorta distracting. It could just be me but I feel like the render is slightly out of proportion. I could just be tired though.

Hey, thanks for the CnC and I tried smudging because I thought thats what you guys ment by making the rendering more into the picture.. I blured it also then I seen it looks bad but I could only press the undo so many time intill it wont undo anymore. I also agree with you about the black spot. I meant to delete the c4d in the spot but deleted the color layer and I just filled it back in with black :? I also thought that I did a pretty good job of proportioning lol but it seems I was wrong.. the render was too large and I didnt incounter that before. Could you please tell me one more time how to make the render more into the picture, Thanks.

Whether I like you or not has nothing to do with my choice in graphics. I am mature enough to say who I think is better, and in fact I don't even really know either of you. So my choice is based solely on my opinion.

I think, as someone trying to better themselves in graphics, and hopefully have your own shop eventually, you ought to stop saying your better than some people, and instead improve your own skills. I've done some looking around the forums, and your not terrible, your just new. Take the CnC and you could go far. Just drop the attitude while your at it, and I'm sure I'll be a loyal customer one day, as I am to so many of the artists here... (I have over 300 avatars... )

Try to take a step back from the childish arguing, and put that energy into your avi's, you'll rock it eventually. ;)

If you search for smudge brushes on DeviantArt you can find some nice brushes made just for smudging. I don't know if you use Gimp or photoshop so make sure you download the right ones.

Eh, sorry about the blur. Wasn't sure if it would work or not.

In Gimp when resizing the render make sure the chain icon is applied to the render size. The chain will keep the render in the same proportions so you only need to change one setting and it will automatically resize the other. In photoshop I think there's a box you can checkmark that says something along the lines of "keep proportions"

I'll tell you tomorrow about some of the techniques I use to make a render part of a whole picture. For now, I really need to sleep.

Of course you would pick him. You just said you didnt like me lmfao. Who do you think should win Cassafras.

Oh and don't reply saying that through my cnc one person's was better than the other. Just look at what I wrote for you and think about those points as you make your new pieces.

Honestly, I don't think either of you are winners. Not yet, anyway. Both of you have several areas that need work. Focus on one or two areas at a time (i.e. one avi focused on lighting or a sig focused on flow) and always let others help you.

This is my last post of the night. G'night all.

since you are both pretty much beginners....im not going to try and tell you that you need this and this to make a perfect avatar... We all have our own styles and once you find your style that you love and you think you do good with keep practicing it... never give up. no matter what.

But as an avatar buyer/maker i would buy A. Im more drawn to the color scheme in it although i would have blended the render in better with the background. B looks nice but the render is to stretched for me. :|

Hmm I agree that a rematch needs to be done. The following criticism will be done according to what I see and not the maker.

A: You have some contradicting flows. I see 2 flows. But at least we know there is one lol. For a beginner, its good. Just I dont like your color coordination.

B: I don't like how you showed your flow, its iffy. The smudgy things on the side are infact, ugly. What I DO like though, is you really coordinated your colors. Could be more coordinated, but for your "skill class" its good.

I choose avatar A cause if the colors were better coordinated, it would have been quite beast for a new avatar maker. Keep it up I could see you improving more and more and more.

As for SKevin, I see some improvement. Your attitude won't get you far though. The furthest it can get you? A nice ban :)
