Once an attack is made and you gain rating you are open to the full 100% xp loss with normal gold gain.
An attack on another character with rating = normal rating gain and xp loss and gold loss
This solves the issue players would have with being hit , who dont like being hit.

I love pvp, hitting, taking xp, losing xp..doesnt bother me.. BUT. Ya cant pvp if no one plays the game and theres no one to hit
It doesn't effect BB hits. And I'm not sure peoples thoughts but.. first rating hit on someone with 0... is double gold, low rating and 50% less xp. Would a second hit. Ie: i get bountied, or its a guild war. Would it take 100% xp and normal gold? ( i wouldnt gain rating)

One thing i have thought of, when say your been bullied, you tell your guild members they say right were not having this, lets make a deleving party up, the they all get in the bounty take 5 from the bully, then they are put in the ladder some thing they wish to avoid and keep out of because they only lvl up, all because there defending there guild member.
I see a lot of baiting going on here.
If this happens we need to take 5 from all bounties, or only 100 stams are allowed.

It is like someone is joining an arena and he chooses the other participants from offline undressed players, so he can easily win and also force those players to pay the entrance fee
just leave the opt-in as it is.

I sometimes fail to see why a thread is made by the cows asking for feedback when people reply with multiple points and then get ignored. I've asked several questions in my post on page 4 of this thread and made a few alternative suggestions and nada. If the whole point of this thread is just to appease the pvp'rs and the non-pvp'rs don't have a voice, please just say so
Am i throwing toys out of the pram ? - no - but I would like the questions/concerns/suggestions looked at / commented when all others in FAVOUR of PvP seem to be being addressed.
I think my post has been lost in there somewhere too but then there is a lot of posts to read and reply back too. I think the pvpers are probably the best ones to sort this out and they do seem to be very nice these days - whats up! :wink:

Second, raise the stakes for PvP. *I'd* like to see the level cap removed on deleveling, but I doubt that'll happen. So, raise it from 5 to 15 (or 20). Now, there's a natural consequence for farmers. If the ladder folks farm someone, they can expect to lose enough levels to make their farming unprofitable.
Seriously, how is this not simple?

1. "I don't like PVP, can I opt out?" No. Fallensword is explicitly a PVP environment, so at all times, you should be prepared for a PVP encounter. The only way to opt out is to not play the game.
2. "Give me my gold back!" Combat in Fallensword awards gold to the victor. To repeat that in case it's not absolutely clear: Gold lost rightfully belongs to the victor.
3. "In real life, that would be theft!" A much more accurate comparison would be to ritual single combat. Theft occurs when people have a reasonable basis to believe their possessions are safe and someone else breaks in to steal them. Fallensword cannot be said to be this sort of environment: as it is open PVP, you are by definition never safe, and rather than sneak out with their take, PVPers leave their names and calling cards. Strictly legally, no player owns anything in Fallensword; everything belongs to HCS and PVP is merely a matter of rights changing hands.
4. "I'm reporting you!" If you feel the need to talk to a HCS staff member, do so, and they will tell you that PVP is not only allowed but encouraged as a part of the game.
5. "I don't care for PVP and I don't want to be bothered with all that! Just go away!" In life there are things called consequences. Given a choice, few people would work, do chores, pay bills, or otherwise experience unpleasant things. Yet we do work, pay bills, and take care of chores. Why? We intuitively know that bad things might happen if we neglect to. As an intelligent being, you have the right to willfully ignore your own safety and deliberately avoid taking precautions. However, you then may have to deal with consequences.
A consequence of playing a PVP game is that you will sometimes be the target of PVP.
I hope that this letter has served to inform you about player-versus-player conflict in the world of Fallensword. If you think you may naturally be of a PVP-preferring orientation, I encourage you to experiment to better understand your inner nature. However, PVP is not for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to make Fallensword a richer, deeper experience for people of all playstyle orientations.
I wish we could go back to the old ways. Get rid of the ladders because they prove nothing about being a PvPer!!!

have you completely not read the forum thread at all. there are a few of us pvp players that are trying VERY hard to keep the levelers out of it as much as humanly possible. 50% reduction in exp loss, no rating gained from you, what more can be done? nothing in the game is keeping you from getting hit right now. these new changes arent goin to change that in the slightest. and if we can get the reduced exp loss and rating gain from 0 rating players you will get hit even LESS!! how is that bad?the idea that some players are competing for a reward and in order to gain it they attack players that do not compete for the same reward is just wrong. (i don't want to use any other word).

what do you mean greatly decreased? you mean in value?I have not read through the entire thread, so please forgive me if this has already been suggested. I saw the new proposal of PVP potions as rewards, but how about the new gear or other items being tossed around? Right now the majority of the gear that can be crafted has greatly decreased. New gear would also inject renewed participation.
