Here are former stats of Erik of the Frozen Wastes, formerly a terrific high damage mercenary:
(taken from the Wiki)
Name: Erik of the Frozen Wastes
* Class: Human
* Level: 800
* Strength: Elite
Statistics
* Attack: 13621
* Defense: 6025
* Armor: 6318
* HP: 54563
* Damage: 28438

Will you PLEASE tell us why you have nerfed merc's stats and WHY YOU DID IT WITHOUT EVEN TELLING US???? Thank you.

The stats in the wiki don't look correct - take a look at the Elite merc at level 765 ->

Ban'ei Percheron

Attack: 1875 - 1925
Defense: 1075 - 1125
Armor: 1018 - 1174
HP: 23575 - 29755
Damage: 17560 - 20574

The merc stats were randomly changed around the time you 1st started adding new mercs above level 800 grim. I think it was also around the same time you guys changed creature stats for 1100+ so possibly a new formula was just applied across the board to all the mercs from 1 of those updates.

What did you expect the stat ranges on the merc to be?

The higher level merc stats could simulate a 'buddy' at the same level stats as a colleague End-of-Content Fallen Sword player. At the moment the high level merc stats are similar to that of a player who wears boxer shorts and flip-flops all day. :D

Imagine a true merc equal to or greater than an EOC player in hunter-mode:

Att: 12,000
Def: 10,000
Arm: 5,000
Dam: 40,000

Then we would click that merc button until we had a smile on our face...

Oh, I just thought of something.

I think you should put all the Hunted Cows in the merc list! Yeah, it's a great idea. Think about it: because you guys aren't that active in the game itself, we'll still see you pop up as mercs!

And having Hoof as a merc, would be more than exhilarating! I can't wait...

Imagine if Xakano had special spells to cast on the Dreadlord Super Elite ---> "Xakano activated Banishment on The Dreadlord making the creature miss 5 rounds of combat"

Hoof the Flamelord

I've given up on continuing the discussion, but since I was the one who originally posted I'll make a final comment. While I understand that stats in the Wiki are not necessarily accurate, I have hired enough mercenaries for my guild (look at my guild rank "Legendary Mercenary Wrangler and General Advisor"... I didn't get that just for kicks! lol). I was the one who did the majority of mercenary hiring for a very long time. Now a lot of people do it themselves since I've reduced my playing time.

What I do know for a fact, though I can not document it, is that the stats of mercenaries have been reduced. That Erik of the Frozen Wastes used to be one of the mercs we would look for when we needed a lot of damage. it always had way up in the 20 or 30 thousands for damage. The stats I showed you for the one that only had around 6K damage just simply did not seem correct compared to the others. Also, in response to grim's example of the 765 level elite, there are higher level mercs who do not always have the highest level stats.

Anyway, it's worth a discussion, but I'm not going to waste any more of Hoof and Grim's time on it, they have much more important in game things to fix and work on!! I do thank you both for looking into it though, thanks very much. :)

Here's Erik's stats as of a couple minutes ago. Definitely not what the doctor ordered. Sorry.

I've double checked the image with the numbers in admin, as well as double check the numbers in Admin. They are completely accurate.

BG, I don't think they are questioning the total number of stat points on the merc, but that such a high percentage have been put into hp. I know most of the time, when I hire mercs I usually look for best Attack/Damage, but there have been times I actually looked for the mercs with higher Armor or Defense stats, depending on what I was doing. I'm sure there is a use for such mega hp, but most of us don't take the time to try and figure it out. Usually, when one like that pops up, I skip him, especially at that cost.
