A great deal of people don't like the map or UI that has been put upon us. It is not the change we don't like (change is good), it's the fact that the change is hurting the game.

Zorg has already implemented the option to choose a 'theme' on the new UI which will allow you to make it look like the 'classic' interface.

As for the map - it will be an option you can enable in the preferences initially. We may be able to keep the current map system as an option also :)

Good to see Hoof, just wondering has this been tested anywhere other than in theory ?
cause alpha is not faster than fs for me.

The alpha test server is only a single server - you should find it much faster on the live servers :)

Will leaving both ui's as options still allow that speed ? given that one of them will still presumably require page loads after every click ?

Could you all at least wait and see what it feels like when running on all servers?

It is obvious the old one will keep running at least while bugs are being ironed out, so why get all up in arms before you can even test it properly?

For me the new map system is faster, even on alpha. I do have some bugs, but also i am sure some titanhunters might find they get more competition if snails like me can be a little faster, but that isn't a good enough reason to beat it down before it is running already.

I am glad there will be an option on keeping the layout a bit more like the old one, at least, as I don't go much at all on all the candycolours, so will keep fingers crossed.

There will be an option to make it look similar to how it is now - ie. the 'classic' theme :)

We'll also be doing some optimizations to ensure it loads very fast :)

This is a day I have wished would never come for quite some time,,that said I just got off Alpha and gave another try to the new stuff, I blazed through krull beach forest east to the enterance to west,,,there the problems started, the zoom locked up and I could only click the southern half of the map (and I wasnt there) but no tile offered a click and the only way to fix it was to change back to the old map!
I am glad that the option is left to keep the old way the game was and not have change forced on us but im still worried it will cause so much chaos to try and bring this live with so many problems. I know Alpha only is one server but also has only a small percent of the players. The speed promised im not seeing and in fact its worse. I am afraid the game will crash entirely from it.
Finally there are a lot of changes we have been waiting for that a majority of players are asking for that seem to have been forgotten, its been a couple weeks and the pvp change still isnt in sight.

The version currently on the alpha test server is outdated. There have been many improvements since then :)

Then, shouldn't the latest version be on the alpha ? - so that folk can see it and comment on that, rather than a version, as you state, is outdated ?

I hope there will be an option to not have to use the new map system at any point in the future, even after the initial testing is done...some of us never wanted it to begin with

So does this mean that you are going to start working on the gvg system that was promised a long time ago?

After the map is implemented and working fully on the live servers, we'll be looking at improving the PvP Ladder, Guild Conflicts and also the PvP Arena :)

Will the new map interface stay option only for awhile? I still prefer the regular interface.

i am on the fence on this update..if it permantly becomes a choice in preferences to use the new map then it would be ok...but if not..it could easily ruin the game for many players....who is to say who will like it and who wont...should always be left as a choice in the preferences..

So we are going to be forced to use it? Looks like I will have to find another game...

Can we get a chance to alpha test the updated version before you go live?
