I'd love to have successfully searched for Linux rather than posting this here. But the new search now has a firm minimum of 6 characters and so I was not allowed to do that. So I am seeking help here.

I am struggling with the following things:

The Linux Firefox just keeps redirecting me endlessly to my character preferences page...saying that my image pack is out of date. (It isn't in this OS at all... it is in the Windows one that is now corrupted.) I keep trying to delete the file reference, but that button doesn't seem to be functional. Is there a way for me to make FF Linux functional with FS? I did update it from the antiquated initial version in the package, but that didn't stop the game from repeatedly kicking me to my preferences page.

This browser is a wierd one called Konqueror. Things seem to work here, except I still can't remove the image pack reference. I am hating some things that seem to be internal to the browser. I am guessing that one of the things that I am hating is mouse gestures. All I know is that the screen keeps jumping around at random times. It is driving me crazy. It also seems to be pasting in URLs at random times -- maybe it is just pasting in what I have in my clipboard at random times -- it is hard for me to know which one. The cursor is also jumping around in a random fashion as I type this. How do I turn these automated functions off?

I'm really generally an old-fashioned computer user. I don't want any add-ons other than auto-reload. I don't want spell-check and auto-complete. I don't want lots of toolbars. I don't use FS-Helper. I just want it to do basic things, like let me type without ever scrolling what I am typing off the page. (actually I wish it wasn't moving at all.)

How do I get things to a reasonable normal for me?

Thank you for any help you can give.
