awesome piece of armor but the stats are much too wimpy.

make the quest where you have to get drops from na'gathian or ethereal creatures in a darkness realm.

the reward can be a good armor slottable that gives extra stats when slotted to an ultimus robe.... so everyone can get something even without the robe.

or you could just get better armor O.o

yoho noooo has essencally a peice or armour as good if not better than a level 9000 item and its not level restricted. why worry about the ultimus stuff.

(that and hoffy said that invasion items wouldnt be used in quests anymore so i dont see it happening)

you DO realise that you're about 2 years late for the "Ultimus Robes are AWESHOME" bandwagon, yes? they've been surpassed by many other types of armour since they came out...and like MH said...HCS aren't using invasion items anymore in quests.

Well, just to play devil's advocate on that point, you could use the forged Ultimus robe. In truth though, the only reason to have one these days is to set up 3 rune sets.

ah but I'm 100% confident he was not talking about the Forged robe, given he was running around trying to buy the final Ultimus shards to make a robe for himself recently.

i *have* better armor

i would like to see more high end armor options than just merd's soul and the santa armor. there also needs to be a really good armor slottable. this would kill two birds with one stone!

i do have an ultimus robe for it's wicked coolness. it would be nice if it was more useful.

it would also be cool if the ethereal or na'gathin creatures assassinated and appeared and disappeared or teleported at random and were statisically similiar to tarragon haunts, inquisitors etc but a bit bigger with decent xp... and you needed a special item to hit them. the realm should be PVP as well.

oh god call it the Wicked Sorpion Gem.... then i would have a Wicked Scorpion Robe of the Ultimus.....

riiiiiiiiiiight.

so now you not only want a 2 year old armour updated because you've finally jumped on the bandwagon of it way beyond being too late for it and spent usps on the shards to make one that you didn't need to, you want 2 creature classes completely changed in their behaviours too in order to justify your spending?

my apologies, at first I thought this was a serious suggestion but now I can see it's a "sloof gem". do carry on with the spoof.

The only difference between serious suggestion and attempt at "Grand Theft Gothador" is which side of the fence you're on. What some propose as experience enhancing suggestions very often are for themselves, but either fail to consider or outright screw others.

Take the Santa's armour, for instance. Not only does it have no wisdom, making it useless for a mage, but it has 25% resistances across the board, which gave an extra 7% to the warriors who were moaning at the time they needed a bit more to keep their damage up. As well, it is available to nearly everyone who can complete a simple quest. As such, has this been proposed instead of furnished, it would have been called down by mages first, then anyone who had to actually go back and build a nightmare cleaver to make the Merd's Soul.

As such, after very careful consideration (of my inventory), I think this improvement to the ultimus robe is a capital idea! Providing, of course, it has a wisdom bonus of 100, mana surge ++ and a level restriction of 20K.

so i jumped the band wagon by buying armor that is hideously out of date? you can't have that both ways. i had my eye on that armor from day one.

justify my spending? no not at all. with or without whatever reward that would be a fun quest. i have no idea what you mean about changing creature class behaviours. the all new teleporting assassinating ethereal creature would be much more interesting than degdin mage HP sponges (are they not boring? are they not a joke?)

i was trying to add something that wasn't just a numbers game... an element of ideterminacy. i would do that quest several times... the quest idea is basically Swamp Shadows with a lot more freakiness. maybe possibly the realm would become a mid level icedrop but in darkness so it's not just teleport chasing. maybe not. i don't know. it's just an idea that i thought would be fun. more integrated quest and hunting. because most of the quests are of a sort that if you completely ignored them you'd have better levels and stats. if one never did those decimation amulet quests and just hunted you'd have higher levels, higher atk/dmg as well... by quite a freakishly large margin.

well i'm just glad that no one proposed Dredgin mages... because that would have been a joke. i did the math on those... Noitora get's slightly more levels per USP than me on the SAME vial. so who exactly am i supposed to be screwing over with my suggestion?

i feel your pain about the merds soul i did that quest and i didn't even need it. i had to back track.....

i proposed a creature that teleports and assassinates in a darkness realm and i'm supposed to be screwing someone over? making it easy on myself? i am starting to see how this works.

the all new teleporting assassinating ethereal creature

may very well be fun for some folks, but sounds like more coding than what HCS would be willing to do.

it wouldn't be that much... there's already things in the game, quest locations that move around like that. they were willing to code in Rudey... they would just move around without being killed.

I doubt something like that would happen from the xp/ap standpoint. In order to make killing something like that worthwhile, you'd have to be able to get enough xp per kill to make up for those times where you were killed, sent to some life nexus or other, gained some hp back, and found another creature. This is all a numbers game, at least from my standpoint, and that might make it too variable.

Well I'm only seeing parts of this conversation, but a creature like that could drop say Rare Wyvern bits with a drop rate of 1/100 so every 100 of them that you finally managed to kill might drop a bit ;)

1 in 50 is more realistic.... not too bad if they give decent but not great XP. there is always drop gear etc.

This is Gotahdor, reality has nothing to do with drop rates.

If by some chance HCS decided to allow a former invasion drop, to become a everyday drop item, I would would like to see an even lower drop ratio of 100:1, these are highly valuable items that peeps have invested in, dont destroy the value of them with a high drop rate.

are you talking about drops for the hypothetical wicked scorpion gem or ultimus shards? i was talking about the upgrade item. if you were refering to the shards then i have a robe so ok.... i completely agree. otherwise the drop rate of the upgrade gem has no effect on the value of the robe.
