Why is the level 620 Soul set bound?

If HCS desires to make future quest items bound, that is fine. However... why force a change in the game to something that was never bound before? It is senseless... I am upset by this sudden change. There was no notice of this and I personally don't see why it is necessary at all? Many people have invented Soul Set's, to sell for profit or keep for them selves, others like my self have purchased the set for future leveling plans. So why change this???

I'd really like to request that the Soul Set be fixed... as this is really unfair to everyone in the game...

Apparently it has something to do with a recipe in an upcoming quest.
HCS doesn't want people to trade Soul items so they made them bound. That way everyone has to hunt for their own items for the recipe.

Hi there.

The Soul set has been bound as it is used in a Quest. The reason for this will be made apparent in an upcoming feature, allowing players who have discarded Quest items to buy them back from an ingame location.

Buy back quest items??? Oh my goodness this is a terrible idea of a gold sink... !

Of all the ideas... why that? ugh... This idea doesn't sound good. =/

What ever this is gonna be used for ... I hope it's worth it... This new item/ set should be mind bending it's so good... Other wise it's a total waste, and all that's accomplished is causing players grief over nothing... but we will wait and see won't we...

No other options ... are there?

Ok, am I understanding this right?

It is bound to be used in a quest, but then I will have to choose whether to keep my FF soul set OR do the quest, as I wont be able to replace it once I do the quest?

It is a useful set that I would like to keep :/

The Cows plan on opening another store within the world where people can buy old quest items. This will serve as a foreseen "Gold sink for the game" (which I doubt will work productively) and the mind set behind this is that you can buy the items all over again and just invent the set all over again (of course providing you either completed the quest or perhaps will force us all to go and hunt the Soul set all over again). That's my understanding of this...

My complaint is that HCS didn't communicate this with anyone until after it was done. I for one paid a lot of money for my Soul Set..... As of recent I had loaded my set out to a friend and now I'm out $$$ cause the cows had a brain fart...

In short it's obvious I'm upset and why... Perhaps their is time between now and Feb 24th for HCS to choose a different item to select for their purpose perhaps???
instead of using the highly used Soul set that people buy/sell and use perhaps HCS could select another item in place of the Soul.... ?

We're working on a system to allow you to buy items back that have been dropped, but still required in quests. We looked at the idea of the quest reset, but having the ability to buy items back that you have dropped that are needed for a quest looks to be the best option.

We'll take a look and see if there is something we can do to make it possible for the Soul Set not to be bound (it may be a case of just tweaking a quest).

That would be amazing... Hoof...

Thank you for your input and help on this matter.

The idea of being able to buy an item that was dropped during a quest wouldn't hurt the game, however ... making a set that's highly used " bound" is terrible. Possibly considering a substitute for this item/set would be great as well.

Thank you

Seems nice, but only if you dropped them first... or it would become a way to "buy" quests.
Also the item you buy shouldnt give you an advantage for something else:
maybe not the best example, but im thinking of Deathspinner Queen Web, if you can re buy it you can invent unlimited Deathspinner Shields, unless you have a way to know if i dropeed it or used it to invent.

It would only be if you dropped it - and if you then buy it back, you would not be able to buy it again unless you dropped it again (if that makes sense?) :)

Yup, there still needs to be a "safety net" built into it that checks the players quest book before allowing them to buy the item - and, only allowing them to buy it ONCE to prevent other exploitation..

Dropped or used - 'cos there are instances where simply using an item and then purchasing it again could be exploited...

Hoof, " prior to your involvement in this forum" I had posted a ticket with our support team.

The Ticket ID: XUE-252509

When you can, please look into this as a reply was posted today which seems to contradict your prior involvement in this forum. At least from my understanding.

Thank you,

Chazz
