PvP Arena Changes


[*:2wbernkd]Removed min 2%, max 98% chance to hit when Combat Moves are allowed.
[*:2wbernkd]Crush no longer has any special effect vs. Spin Attack.
[*:2wbernkd]Increased equip level range for gold and potion tournaments to 0-1200.
[*:2wbernkd]Change gold tournaments so there is more variety.
[*:2wbernkd]Increased maximum upgradable limit of Combat Sets by 50.
[*:2wbernkd]Increased maximum upgradable limit of Combat Move Sets by 30.
[*:2wbernkd]Reduced Poison activation rate from 25% to 15%.
[*:2wbernkd]Reduced Poison damage from 10% to 5%.
[*:2wbernkd]Reduced Fire Blast activation rate from 25% to 15%.
[*:2wbernkd]Reduced Fire Blast damage from 25% to 20%
[*:2wbernkd]Changed activation rate of Fire Blast vs. Block to 10%.
[*:2wbernkd]Doubled the amount of active gold and item tournaments.
[*:2wbernkd]Changed Spin Attack so it now does +50% damage vs. Counter Attack.
[*:2wbernkd]Lunge now increases attack by 10% when used vs. Poison and Fire Blast.
[*:2wbernkd]Updated PvP Move descriptions to reflect the changes.
We've also fixed/changed the following:


[*:2wbernkd]Fixed an issue with the Action List being hidden behind the background.
[*:2wbernkd]Changed the 'Take All' for the mailbox to take items in the order that they expire.
In the next update for the PvP Arena, we will be looking at automatically adjusting the join costs based on the previously decayed values. We'll also be looking at re-using old arena components for brand new sets.

Any timeline on when the "new" map becomes the only map? or thoughts of only spawning titans on the new map?


How long until the arena is complete? Ie: a timeline on new gears, prices etc for arena players. And what is the plan after that? No flaming, just asking, again.... what the plan is ;) January is past and feb almost as well now hoof.

imo there are still so many flaws. poison and fire blast should have never existed.
By making 4 man gold tourneys and now I see there is one with a join cost of 2k you are changing the game to much. All these changes are the same as deciding to make each titan kill as count 2 or 3 kills towards medal for a single kill. The medal is so much easier now.
The original complaints months and months ago were about dumb luck wins. The old system was great - the only change that needed to be made was to run each simulation 9 times and the player who won the most of those advanced. Instead, there is more luck than ever . And, while the recent update does make some good improvements to the system itself, it is still only improving on a system that was destroyed. The original system worked! There should have been tweaks based on that, not tweaking this new broken system.

No idea :) I don't see an issue with leaving the classic map as an option and it also may be useful in the future when we make the mobile interface etc. 8)

Like most aspects of the game, I don't think it will ever be 'complete'. We're always looking for ways to improve the game :)

BigGrim will be looking at adding the new sets for the arena and we'll hopefully have the automatic adjustment of the join costs implemented within the next couple of weeks.

We've got the awesome event starting on Friday (before that we'll be looking at optimizations and improvements to the new map) and after that we'll be taking a look at the PvP Ladder and PvP in general :)

Making 4 man tourneys isnt going to improve anything. Its just going to result in players with thousands of wins getting more wins and no new players will try arena when all their opponents have a thousands of wins under their belt.
8 man tourneys are fine for some items that are less desirable now. The real problem for arena backup is huge join costs for items that have been out for a long time, no1 is going to pay 231k to join a tourney with an item that has a value of double that. Except the players who farm arena wins. Tourneys like icon of styx , the powerful potions, etc should have have been kept at 16 man. These tourneys fill up in 1 or 2 minutes now and many players dont even get a chance.
There should be no 4 man tourneys and the items that were chosen to be reduced should have been thought out intelligently, instead of just putting everything to 8.

1. tournament number
2. level

And can you also tweak the interface so you can sort by Max Equip LvL please? This is one thing I would love to see again, and since FHS has not picked it up, perhaps it should just become part of the code.

What about only making titans spawn on the new map then?


If you doubt you will remove the normal map ( which has light walk built into it, remember you banned titan stride..a version of lightwalk) then how do you propose making the titan system and map system fair? Wasn't the new MAP supposed to solve it, and make titan hunting fair/ balanced to everyone? O.o



You say grim should have the price adjustment done in a couple of weeks and the map, that leaves me to assume that pvp wont be looked at for another month, or more?

There was a simple solution (and probably still exists) to Poison / Fire / Freeze attack --- (and if you ever plan on adding any other spell attacks) --- and that is to give "Spell resist & Poison resist" stats. These don't have to be brand new stats, they could simply be a calculation that is done (only when joining arena) based on the players defense and armor stat. A percentage for example. Any formula that can easily give players a bit of resist against these spells would have worked. Arena move list would have shown "Player A attempted to poison Player B which was resisted by Player B". This would have given every player a fair chance at resisting the spell types moves and allowed to add even more spell type moves in future in arena. Spell type moves can be fun, and why not? They add diversity to the moves already available.

I'll be tackling new sets. The Price adjustment will be the Coders.

Please bear in mind that while we try to give certain time frames, they do tend to be fluid. We try not to have dates set in stone unless it's 100% sure to happen, like the Event on Friday.

Sorry, it is no longer possible to view this combat due to a
recent update to the combat system for the PvP Arena.

please tell me this wont happen all the time ?

Is it possible to make the arena friendlier to view old tournament? For example showing level and the prize when you click on the log to see it? It doesn't show anything right now and you have to search for it in the completed tournament list, which is a pain.

Is it possible to make the arena friendlier to view old tournament? For example showing level and the prize when you click on the log to see it? It doesn't show anything right now and you have to search for it in the completed tournament list, which is a pain.

Hoof you told number of gold and prize tournament will be doubled ... today morning i count it there was 20 item , 20 gold and 20 move tournaments , now I counted and its same :D

so its there any date from when it will be applied or its a bug :D thx
