Do not like the original idea at all, would be detrimental to a pvp activity "gold theft" even if I do not like it, it is part of the game and good for the overall economy of the game.

Maybe a way to increase rewards for the hunters and get a little more retribution for the "victim" would be an extra option when posting bounties:

For a 100 stamina minimum hit per swing the poster can pay an extra 100x the amount of minimum gold.

i.e Minimum gold would be 100*100*level so for a 100 stam clear on a level 1000 it would cost:

100*100*1000 = 10,000,000 Gold

I think an incentive like this would get more people hitting on bounties and give reasonable return to the hunters as well as reasonable retribution for the poster?

I can't see anyone (well, VERY few) paying those amounts to be honest. Who's gonna spend the equivalent of 50 fsp to bounty a L1K ? - I wouldn't anyway.

Interesting thought tho, just not sure about the multiplier ...

50 FSP for at least 2 levels lost is a decent rate of return for the poster actually.

-400 FSP to buy those 2 levels
-Normal conditions those 2 levels are going to cost 50-200 FSP in stam
-Costs the Hunter 40 FSP just in stam if 10/10 (1000 stamina)
-Not to mention the stam for buffs and pots for clearing harder targets

its attitudes that people don't want to pay anything, but get everything that have no one clearing the minimum bounties. If you want real retribution you need to pay at least some kind of decent reward to get it. or have your friends stand up for you.

If bounties got that expensive to post tho, no-one would post them - and that would wipe out the BB completely....

I never said anything about all bounties costing that much, just merely adding an extra option available to those seeking a higher amount of punishment at a higher cost.

True ... I still think your option is too expensive though :)

see the big issue is, The person who is attacked only wants to pay the least possible, because they are already feeling aggrieved. They have lost gold and or xp, now they have to pay their own gold to be punish the attacker.

The Bounty hunter looks and sees a bounty with min bounty posted. This will take ~30 mins or so, a bunch of buffs and possibly potions. This doesn't offset the effort well for what they are doing. By doing a 10 stam clear they are minimising their risk of being countered or worse.

If the 'victim' isn't going to pay for the punishment, and the bounter hunter isn't going to inflict it because of the lack of reward(incentive), where does this leave us? Only HCS can really come to the party to put in a new variable, to promote more bounties to be taken.

The smasher medal has gone a little way to increasing the 'punishment' on the bounty board. As has the ability to post each attack.
However the point remains, there is no underlying incentive for your average bounty hunter to stick their neck out unless there is a decent reward to offset the risk.

I agree Bry, hence throwing this out as an option to try and increment the rewards for those that do take bounties. I'm sure there's plenty of other viable suggestions too, but as you say, only the cows can actually implement something, for better (ideally) or worse (hopefully not)

My vote is "no". If you want to encourage bounties to be posted and cleared, make up some nice rewards for the hunters. You can give em points based on the number of bounty kills they make, (not retroactive) and add a shop to carry potions and equipment. Make it profitable for them and bounties will be fought over.

As for the OP idea; Nope! Reasons have already been given in this thread; Why should I pay to get punished as I am the one already putting my xp on the line.

This could be a solution. Greed runs alotta ppl in this game, and having a special department with stuff only obtainable via bounty kills, could activate those. I would yell "BOUND" items/pots though

I, as so many others, have been begging for a bounty reward system update for years now.
To keep it simple, I say add a +1 on FSP per 100 lvls so a min reward for a lvl 1K player would be 10 FSP.
Do an update on the gold to be 1,000 gold per lvl, and add a x2, x3, x4, x5 etc on gold for each 100 lvls as well. A min lvl 100 bounty gold reward would be 10,000 gold, a lvl 400 would be 400,000, and a lvl 1K 1,000,000 gold.
B4 you scream at the gold rewards, try converting it into FSP, and the rewards is still pretty low, but by far better than is !

No one can deny that we changed this game and influenced it in such a way that NO ONE could compete with us.. so much so that they changed the rules. ~Abhorrence, chosen founder of Cerulean Sins

If it didn't matter if someone was a pvp'er or not, why ask people to make a choice indicating what they consider themselves to be?

I think people who actively PvP have a right to say how their area of expertise works.
