i say thief rates and delevel rates should be increased , not enough people are loosing levels!

How would you know people not losing levels ? and How its could be enough ? and How that would help game?
New BB= more xp lost

I agree on gold thief should be increased but it would be still hard to find someone with gold without PvP protection...

why because delevelling is fun! and they never learn when you take 1 or 2 levels, now 10 or 15 and they would!

I feel this thread has gotten derailed a bit from the OP ..

So let me start by saying I agree with the OP. His points are valid for all the ways you can prevent XP loss, level up quickly, and avoid PvP altogether with pvp protection. Furthermore, PvP protection shouldn't exist in the first place ... it sets a bad precedent for people not likely pvp and discourages people for trying it out.

To play devils advocate a bit, prestige bonus was created to help pvpers regain levels lost when pvping. However, they have since changed the BB system so that you can be bountied multiple times for multiple hits. So the potential to lose Levels went up 100% or more easily. Also, there are people farming their Smasher hits on bounties as well. So this further exasperates the situation.

If people lost more levels on the BB, then pvping would essentially stop in the game. There is way too much COST to pvp for the POTENTIAL gain of pvping. Probably the only hitting would be pvp ladder and defending a guild mate / friend.

Also, smasher medal should be opened up to the entire game, any hit should count for it. Completely BS for any other system.

PvP protection, to me, is the best decision this game ever made.

I personally think it's UNFAIR (yes, you read that right) that I have to pay to stay out of a game component that others want to drag me in to all the time.

I don't want to PvP. Never have. I want to play a D&D-style game that allows me to make friends and play make-believe. PvP is what other players want, and I've NEVER said they shouldn't be able to. Go right ahead. But you won't just leave people out if they ask (in fact, by reading bios it seems a matter of pride to IGNORE what people put in their bios or request in PMs) so the actions of PvPers leave non-PvPers with only one recourse: buying protection.

Now you whine about protection.

If we're never going to have PvP become truly optional (as in-- FREE TO CHOOSE), then allow me a thought: Make protection only available for 28 days. Either players shell out the 100 FSPs or they're stuck without protection. I suspect a lot of people using PvP protection are already using it for 28 days at a time, but it'll cut down on those wanting to use it to scavenge or just wishing to invent/forge for a day.

As for theft rates... this has gone 'round and 'round in another thread. Increase, decrease, whatever. As long as we recognize it's purely about greed and not trying to claim anything about helping the market.

If you think the bounty board is too much of a punishment then start that thread and get feedback on that.

Leaving the attacked party with 50% of their gold seems fine. Clean them out and this game will dry up. Then you'll REALLY have no one to hit. :wink:

You find it unfair that you have to pay to opt out of pvp, yet you still choose to do so.

Players are dragging you into pvp all the time, how so?

Most player's I've seen with protection buy it 1 day at a time, during leveling sprees etc. Only the Richer often buy the full 28 days. Buying protection while leveling would most likely be due to wanting to hide gold, the most alluring part to pvp in this game.


Stam is gained Free, gold is gained Free, players attempt to *rob* this free gold.


How is wishing to promote pvp in this game, by increasing the possible gain from thieving, being greedy? The current Risk vs Reward is terrible, ask anybody.

It's well known, I would love to see protection removed, and more players use the bounty board to handle transgressions and issues. I'll humor you tho, cheapen protection, and either allow only 28 days protection or None, BUT only if gold isn't protected, and IF a protected player chooses to pvp or gvg in any form, they lose that protection. ( since they are attacking another player)

The only reason it's considered a PvP game is because it's open world and allowed PvP. Other than that there's nothing that would consider this a PvP game. Reason why? PvP is dependent on hunting (most the time anyway). The game can't be considered PvP if it needs another aspect just to work

Fallen Sword was a PvP game... LOL Now it has become a PvE mostly or only game, in my opinion. When you look and consider just how much is stacked against those who PvP than compare that to what's currently available to PvE players it's an obvious in balance. I have clearly pointed all of them out... What's available to players who do enjoy PvP? PUNISHMENT, Loss of levels, and loss of FSP and Potions only it seems.

1. Yes we have the Prestige System which does help someone level back up but ... only if you are getting the 10% bonus. However... there is a catch to that as well. You have to make about 400 PvP hits to get to that bonus, and by that time how much has the attacker lost in the process?

I attacked someone every hour on the hour (for my own reason's) and my " Prestige " is only at 7% I've lost 12 levels and most of that with the exception of one person were all 10 stam clears with Conserve. Now do you really think on a regular hunt I will make all that back up? LOL Nope of course not.... The PvP Prestige System is a slap in the face and clearly an insult, to those who PvP.

We also have the glorious PvP Ladder <---- Another insult to people who PvP. Now it's combined of mostly Levelers pillow fighting with 10 stam hits and who can log on the most. Those who PvP asked that it be refined one way that would encourage PvP in game however again HCS makes it another way that killed it.

2. A PvP Smasher Medal <----- Something nice... Nope they changed that in Hours of it coming out and quietly told everyone to farm and 100 stam hit all those who PvP and that get bountied.... Another Insult...

So far this game is all PvE from my view, nothing at all has been done to assist or encourage people to take part in PvP. In fact the only thing people in this game have seen from PvP is it's a really good way to lose levels fast, lose fsp, and waste time. <----- HCS's way of spicing things up and encouraging all of us to take part in PvP. It's no wonder this game is dying and on it's last leg....

I am so tired, fed up, and angry with not you personally but the management team in FS. We have less than 600 people per day and our servers still go laggy. Our FS players who pvp get nothing and have little to nothing to show for this. Look back in your financial logs, go back 3years and look at your fiscal earnings... PvP is what made you all money on this game.

By cutting it out by listening to your supportive people who only login to level just look at how much that has helped your game grow today... I think it's time you turned your ear over and started taking suggestions on how to save and re-build your great money maker from those of us who know what really needs fixing... The graphics are not the problem with this game. It's the lack of PvP in game that's the real problem.

People login to this game to talk, chat, gossip about what's going on. You need that to happen again. People need to login not for full stam or to hunt but... to see what's happening. " Did I get attacked today?" Did a friend of mine get attacked? Should I buy better gear even though I don't PvP? Should I drop another $60 in this game so I can get protection?
$200 dollars due to my attacks, to increase max stam, to increase current stam, to buy buffs for her protection... All that was due to me attacking one person that could do this. If I never attacked you would have never saw her 200 bucks... Please help, please fix pvp before it's way too late.

So in other words, you attacked a player so much that she decided to take extreme actions to counter that? do you know how many people would have quit the game because of that same reason instead? and you think it's good for the game? People like you is the reason why alot of the people quit the game actually. I've showed this game to 4 people, and they all quit because of players like you.

Me: And I'd be FINE with getting rid of that. THAT is too easily abused.

I happen to be an adult, gainfully employed, and able to donate without shame. I'm lucky. I only use the market to help offset the costs of the PvP protection (we've discussed this). If protection is only available in only 28-day-allotments you'll see one of three outcomes:

1. Fewer people using protection and more gold to be thieved from scavengers and hunters, orr...

2. more players buying the 28-day protection and/or....

3. opting out permanently by leaving.


I figure the odds are 40/20/40.
