I'd assume we'd keep the items you can win now and just continue to fold them into new Arena only sets and potions?

be great to have some new items to play for ...  maybe " frag bundles" similar to the ideas for chests we have heard  .. join cost to the arena varying on the type of frags offered ( IE Common vs  Rare vs Crystal and so on )  and if this is redundant sorry!

Just an observation here. There are currently 33 gold arena's open to be joined below level 485 and 6 gold arena's you can join above level 485.  Arena seems to be less popular in the lower levels. I play mostly on higher levels, but I joined a gold arena between level 100 and 150, 2 days ago, and still nobody else joined it.

that is because lower level players have given up on arena, many after losing 100 times for maybe 1 win...arena needs a major overhaul to help get the lower level players involved...and many more higher level players still playing the game compared to lower levels- gvg farming of noobies is the main reason for that..nobody sticks it out anymore..

Oh, Arena Tokens, not Allegiance Tokens nor PvP Tokens.   

 

Lower levels do not play because it is too specialized. No way would they (me included) have the gear to win - or corresponding Gilds. This is a mute point and another problem since anyone higher can join. Why are they not joining ?

 

Arena Tokens is a great idea, but exclusively Arena items is not. Support for Arena needs to come across FS. Inventors, crafters, composers (?), and hunters need to see value for Arena to become useful. Items with enhancements that aid inventing, crafting, or  hunting can help. Enhancements need not have value of 100, 40 or better suffices. Could we get a composer enhancement ?

 

PS Point was mute since another problem needing a different solution.

 

My 2 cents yours may vary.

+1 , arena tokens badly needed..losing 50 times in a row..for nothing in return does not help keep players involved in arena... and tokens would help give more value to most item prizes as it should make it possible to get those rare and very very hard to get resources (becuase they are 16 player tourneys that take forever to fill, so very few chances per week to get a resource)...resources that are needed for all the newest( 2 years ago) invents that used most of the arena prizes to make..imo epic failure on the new invents because of the need for those resources

If you would be able to make some potions which are usefull for hunting with the tokens, and are bound to the player, then hunters will be attracted to participate in the arena. The potions have to be bound, because otherwise they will just buy them from others, and not play arena anyway.

I disagree. Even mid level folks like myself have given up :). No ROI.

lol..ok so lots of players have given up..how to fix that..ROI for sure is one..most items now in arena are close to worthless, goes back to my point about the resources being so few and far between, that it caused all other gear prizes that were to be used in making the new invents worthless..cant do any of those invents without a few resources...epic failure...and starting entry fees way to high for some prizes so we have to wait hrs or days for entry fee to drop down to the value of the prize..hopefully they fix that...

No. The Guild usually helps with gear. If bound, option for guild bound should be allowed.

Arena is Personal effort since you have to make setups not the guild :)

 and you are using your own gold for entry fee...

 

Some guilds have arena gears in their GS just to attract people to join them if they want to take your effort from collecting "Arena tokens" by joining tons of tourneys then its bad guild.

any word from the cows as to when arena is going to get looked at..all combat  moves now start only when it drops to 9 gold to enter..many 16 player quest items have to drop to 9 gold to start...many other prizes have to drop to less than 5k gold to start...some gold arena'sre now taking near 1 week to start...please revamp arena soon...

Now Recipes moved to the Colosseum shop and maybe could make entry fee for all crystalline items 50k gold except if there are new crystalline items coming to arena in future make it 100k gold entry till it gets old like 6 months from release time

Agreed. I want the decaying entry fee gone myself.

 

I do prefer the Arena Token idea myself. Will go through all of those suggestions again when the Arena gets closer on the Dev Roadmap and see if we can get that implemented. Then, once in place and bedded down, I'd open a thread for new prize suggestions.

The start entry fee for some items is too high. If you take away the decay, then all the entry fees would have to reviewed quiet often to make them realistic. Can this be done?

 

For some items which have a good entry fee people do wait for them to get cheaper because they can wait. If the arena had more participants, then this will not be possible. If you wait, then others will enter.

 

So decay is not a problem if more people play the arena. It only slows the start of some arena's because of lack of interest in the arena.

 

There are some level ranges for which I can make a quick slap setup which is not so good, and if the price gets really low, then I enter it knowing that my winning chances are really low. But it cost almost nothing to enter, so why not. If there was no decay, then I would not enter, and others do the same. So without decay these tournies would never start.

there are not enough player in arena to get rid of the decay..i wish we could..but i would predict that most prizes would sit for days or weeks since the starting entry fee is way more than the prize is worth..i have seen many prizes down below 1000 gold and still nobody joins...no decay and arena would be buried 100 feet in the ground...when 9 gold does not even get players to join..50k or 100k would take forever to start..

+1, exactly my point...no decay..arena would die a horrible death..new prizes are needed now.,..not later

Lots of players join to get wins no matter whats the prize...so i think some greedy players just wait till the entry fee decay to nothing so it would cost them nothing

where are these players at then ? i see same 30 or so players all day everyday...i have seen quest items down to 9 gold and still nobody joins, seen crystal down below 1000 gold and nobody joins.....what is keeping them from joining ...if they are not joining at 9 gold or 1000 gold. ..why would they join at 50k...chrono's starts at 212k....nobody is paying that amount for a 1 in 8 chance of winning...if starting fee where corrected then maybe a decay would not be needed...most important of all is to have many more players get into arena and stay...nobody stays..when you lose 50 times in a row..you are not going to keep trying...player retention is needed..but the greedy arena masters do not want to change anything to help get more players involved...there needs to be some, maybe 10% of all arena's only for those that do not have a medal..same prizes, same gold, and still counts as a win towards medal..if a newer players would win a great potion...they would be hooked...arena  masters do not want them to win anything good...they cant even give up 10% to help...demand that newer players have to play against the arena master..50 loses in a row ..and goodbye to them..your tokens would help..but if it takes wasting 5 million in gold to get enough tokens to buy 1 prize, it still would not attract anyone new...new prizes are needed now !!!..not later..entry fees changed now..not later..we need to get more players involved...plain and simple..until then..decay is needed
