hopefully now that composing is finally getting done..someone will look at arena and help revive it..this idea is the best one out there..time to add it to arena..should be a very simple addition...great idea needs to be implemented..soon...

I'm also in favour of this idea! Although how much would the gold entry vs. token prize for the winner be? It shouldn't be too high considering there are tons of arena prizes to choose from and less gold cost would mean more participants!

So no tokens for the winners? I'd much rather see tokens for the winner, so they can spend the tokens on whatever they want, rather than winning a (maybe much needed) token for second place and winning a useless, let's say, thorirs helm for placing 1st? :/

lol..before composing just hit...now that thorsis helm has much more value..arena might come alive again for those crystal pieces..winners get a prize.. tokens are for the effort to get more players to try

hmmm to me this is like saying I may not win all the pvp ladders and might get knocked out of a placement at the last hour so pvp ladder players should drop quest items or resources used in recipes when I hit them. (which I know actually sounds kinda fun!)
Then the tokens for going past first round 10 times to me its gonna be real easy to exploit,, enter everything naked, bring friends get cheap tokens.
Ive got a "crazy" idea?? How about just add a bit more expensive arenas that offer prizes for 1st AND a lesser for 2nd? I would link this up to more rotations which the older set becomes 2nd place stuff and the sets that havent been available for a long time can become the more sought after 1st place prize.
Would being in more play in the arenas and sink more gold to fight for 2 chances to win ![]()

Good gold sink if players tried doing that
it requires lots of effort to do that exploit... imagine someone spend 50k * 8 to get win 400k gold prize tourney that 0 profit and if someone tried to do for tokens it would be too much gold to lose for 1 token worth nothing ![]()

If someone just threw themselves into the tourneys naked just to get that 1 token, it would take forever since Hoof also said that the price for buying the potions in the shop would be * 10 which means they would have to enter at least 200 tourneys by your thoughts on the abusing Grendel.

I still think this idea is great and should be implemented
But I don't think the tokens should be given in the 4-man tourneys, as it's more of a challenge to get to the finals in the 8 & 16-man tourneys.
So I propose dividing the tokens as follows:
16-man: winner gets 8 tokens, runner up gets 2
8-man: winner gets 4 tokens, runner up gets 1
4-man: winner gets 2 token, runner up gets 0
Of course, this all depends on what the tokens are used for and how much it takes to invent stuff... i.e. the inventing of arena gear, pvp gear or potions.
Say for instance, 400 tokens gives you 1 piece of a 2 piece set. Or 200 tokens gives you a Light Foot potion lvl 1000.

Would love to see arena token concept get implemented into the game - the sooner the better. I recently quit the arena and sold off all my low-level setup gear cause I was spending a fortune to win maybe 2-5% of the time, even though I knew I had the right setup/moves to win. I get the chance and 2% factors, but enough was enough. At least with scavenging, you know you will get SOMETHING, even if it is a crappy drop (although now with breaking down items, even those are actually having real value now).
WIth crystalline gear in demand, and the arena being the only steady supply of crystalline gear into the game, there is basically a handful of people that have a monopoly on the crystalline market. A token system for arena participants as suggested above, would allow for more crystalline gear to be acquired by more people - plus, it would make for a very nice goldsink that would ultimately add up to a nice reward.
And if there is some concern about a flooding of crystalline items, then adjust the cost of tokens to purchase them (or adjust the token cost by item level to allow it to coincide with the fragments obtained for decomposing - ie, a 1 fragement crystalline gear costs 100tokens, but one that breaks down into 3 fragments costs 300, etc.).
To be fair about adding the tokens, I would suggest altering the decay rate on the arenas however. Perhaps cap the decay rate so it is only to, say, 50% of initial entry fee - at least for the crystalline prize arenas. This would discourage any type of 'exploiting' by people waiting for several low-priced crystalline tourneys.
Anyways, if something like this were introduced, i would certainly redouble my efforts to begin playing arena again. Thanks for considering the idea cows, and hopefully you guys can make this happen =)

I guess its the same as the titans really...all the effort, gold etc that goes into arena and dots spent on gear...would be nice to see something like the titan reward system added into the arena so for every 16 people who enter...more can gain a hope of obtaining a reward if they can never win but always come so close.

I would love to see HCS do this. It seems like a great idea to me. Lost alot of battles in Arena, and the only thing I got from that is lost gold.

Additional thought to make token's rewards depend on number of tournament's slots
Rewards:
- Final Loser Rewards :
4 Tokens in 16 man's tourney
2 Tokens in 8 man's tourney
1 Token in 4 man's tourney
- 10 Times Semi final losers Rewards:
2 Token's in 16 mans tourney
1 token in 8 man's tourney
_______________________________________________________________________________
Stuff you could buy with tokens:
- Current Arena's Resources(all extract-able ones) Cost would be like 50 token.
- Current Arena's Potions cost would depends on skill level 1 token for every 5 levels... ie Brewing master potion level 300 would cost 60 token , Last ditch level 225 would cost 45 token , Light foot level 600 cost 120 token... and so on in-case HC's would add new potions to arena.
- Current Arena's Quest items cost would be like 30 token.

+1, very good shindrak..i really like your proposal...especially the 50 tokens for arena resource..since 1 is needed for all the new gear they came out with 1 year ago, and so few come out to play for..made all the new quest items worthless..now they would have more value and more of those new sets could be made...please cows implement this arena tokens idea..really needed to spark more interest in arena

It's actually not that bad of an idea. The sad part about it, most good ideas never become anything but. So many different ideas have filled this forum over the years to only get acknowledgement from the cows, then be forgotten. The last couple weeks have seen a frenzy of activity from the cows, with the XP event, the booster pack, and so on, but it really isn't increasing the game activity much in the long run. the online numbers were steadily growing in small amounts, then started to die of as before. I have been entering arenas non-stop for the last 2-3 weeks and while it is a pain in the *** to get beat by the same 2 or 3 people over and over and over and over etc. I have kept at it, and finally got my bronze medal.
If you truly want to increase the activity in the arena from those that aren't as stubborn as me, there needs to be some sort of separation in the arena. Simply giving out "tokens" to those who lose all the time isn't going to increase the activity, or their want to participate. Giving out "prizes" for losing seems to be the way the world works these days though. If we don't give the losers a trophy we may damage their self esteem and cause them a life of pain and depression........
Just separate the arena into ability tiers and people will play it. But, if you feel the need to award mediocrity and stubborness, this token idea isn't bad.

You are saying some players can't learn? this reward to encourage keep playing arena and learn more about it ... non of those players who won alot born professionals every arena player joined hell many tourney's to get with it.
Losing too much is only way to win
if you just win and never fail you will never understand how you won.
Its rare to find players understand this ... i suggested this idea for community who need everything easy
