However, that sort of prestigious status 'rarely beaten', comes from months and months of trial an error, years even. It would be unfair to say that it is not fair they make so much profit from the arena because of the dedication they put in.
Upper class arena players and even myself, have attempted to balance out the arena with total revamps, where new players do not have to challenge the elite community until a certain level of skill is achieved.
But akin to most suggestions in the forums, it is tossed aside, forgotten or completely disregarded by the developers.
You can't necessarily blame those who profit the most because of that in itself, because they win. That is just a losers attitude which I see too often. I swear I've said this a hundred times in threads, I started out getting destroyed, using sub-par guild and lost 100 fsp purely from entry. Then, things just started working. You begin to understand.
The arena is not so much the best gear anymore. It is 75% social psychology. Knowing who you are going to come up against and realising their patterns. But that is just me, I suppose.
If you want to fix the arena, institute some more brackets like novice. Each bracket has a certain win capacity you can achieve before you can't enter that bracket anymore and are forced, to eventually, compete with the "big boys" when you finally have some experience under your belt.

For the most part I agree, I struggle against everyone in the top 100. But I'll think you'll find a lot of these "elites" don't play as often anymore. It gets to the stage where it becomes a chore to win, something that I feel even at only 800 wins.

Hahaha, ain't that the truth...took me a while to get up and running now a days...and it is true...I have to plan ahead of some people (especially para...) because he tries to out plan me and it becomes a game of chess...

Well said
But ill blame you if they made brackets and arena went worse
As i know anyone who got LE sets with 100 arena win even will dominate noobs who dont have gears to play arena ,So if you don't have all sets you wont have lots of options to win.
Everyone started as noob at arena and got better even after competition against elite players and hard time... why these days asking for easy way to get there?

At the moment, the best are enjoying the winnings, the losers are complaining about the best, and the spectators are doing what spectators do best, observe and complain accordingly.
It shouldn't be that way, and it needs to change.

Doesn't bother me sir Shin! Rather be the person who tried then the person who sat and did nothing.

So true....
Actually, having "used to" compete in the Arena on a fairly regular basis, there are those "elite" players that win on a regular basis -- and good for them. However, I am not mistaken about the elite or players who win a lot. Combine that with the fact that to this day, it is hard to figure out some of those moves -- when they come into play and when they don't -- without some sort of guide (other than the somewhat vague description provided), it makes the Arena even more inaccessible to many players. For example, it would be nice to know whether CA really "hits back" against spin attack. I have experienced so many times where I have CA against Spin move and nothing happens...just "you counter attacked" -- no "miss", no "points" damage, or any message to let you know what happened... So, yes, the Arena is a gold sink and paying 50K, 80K or more to join is a waste of time.
You do realize ever since the spin was changed (from 20% chance to hit, to 20% attack increase), that CA will counter spin 100% of the time.....unless of course they miss you because your def is greater....

+1 @ Command's response
I have told HCS THAT many times that they need to change the descriptions to specify exactly what each move does. If I recall correctly, Grim agreed and said he'd get it changed. That was a couple months ago now

50k
100k
150k
200k
250k
300k
400k
500k
750k
1.0M
1.5M
2.0M
5.0M
and also
1 fsp
3 fsp
5 fsp
10fsp
All these should be arenas. Allow only "x amount" of each per day, especially the FSP reward arenas. PLEASE STOP FLOODING THE DAMN ARENA WITH NEW SHIT. This is the problem, you release something new in the arena, then they spawn like every 30 mins, so after a week, that ONCE VALUABLE new items is now trading for 25000 GOLD in the AH, instead of 25 FSP. WUZUG for example.... Can only buy for 40+ fsp b/c ARENA PLAYERS feel they are valuable, yet the items they create sell for less than 10 FSP..... That's one jacked up market place.
Now, if you commit to this, you need to commit to better spawns in the scavenging caves... Gotta be able to sink that gold. Also maybe a WHEEL OF DEATH that will allow you to trade FSP for a spin to possibly win. You have to come up with a SUCCESSFUL way to sink the currency you put into the game. These caves used to be awesome and everyone loved to do them, now you have these potions and buffs that screwed it all up.... just make it where the finder potions/buffs don't work on scavenging, SIMPLE.
I know, easier said that done... Just my two cents as I'm always soo eager to give.
CONSISTENCY!

Back in teh older days of FS they used to give out FSP prizes in the arena ( I have seen proof!), but I don't have the slightest idea what ever happened to that idea...prolly 1 person winning to much or something like that
Because they dont want people getting FSP without donating, maybe? They got rid of the BH Pot too, but I heard a different reason for that one

wonder what HCS feels about rewarding FS shards
Are you thinking of like the "rewards" system we have now? Where you get "x" amount of Shards for doing certain things? That would be interesting if they did that, maybe put in certain intervals say: 10/25/50/75?
PM me in game if I get out bid on a piece. Thanks.
