Got ugraded to Chrome, and now the new map canvas is black.
This used to happen ocassionally with Chrome 23, but now it is all the time.
Tried clearing the cache, restarting the browser, turning off FSH - nothing helped.

So don't upgrade to Chrome 24, and be careful Chrome doesn't do it automatically.

I've had the same thing for a while now. I had thought it was just me, and since I use the dev version of Chrome, I don't get support from HCS, so I didn't say anything... just switched to Firefox every time I needed on the map. :|

BTW, dev is now up to version 25, and this problem still exists.
Chrome version 25.0.1364.29 dev-m

When I look at the Javascript Console (while on the Map page), the only errors I get are "Failed to load resource" on the "Google+" stuff I have blocked; nothing related to the map itself.

Black world here also. Had this sporadically before and just shut down Chrome and restarted it to get it to go away. That does not work anymore.

I'm getting nothing on the error console. Previously I was getting the failed to load resource error.

Just tried Firefox and the screen is fine there. It is an old version of FF...3.6.26 so....

That's a really old version (though the last "good" one before they started all this "update to major versions every 2 weeks" thing)... so if web sites complain about your version number, I do know that the FS map works up to Firefox version 17.0.1 for sure.

Well hopefully the cows can sort this when they come in. In the meantime I guess I'll use old and slow when I need to.

I can use the new map to kill creatures, I just cant get the visuals to load... so I use the pop-up map from the old version, so I know where im going :)

This issue should now be resolved.

Note you may need to clear your browsers cache and restart it.

Yep it works now. :D Didn't even need to clear cache or restart Chrome. 8)

And to think I've been having this issue for so long, and it only took Hoof an hour to fix it. ;)

This is just my opinion, but I would think that rather than refusing to look at problems that occur with FS in the dev and beta versions of Chrome, you guys might want to take a few minutes to look at the problems reported. This way, you can fix or have a fix ready when that browser version goes to the stable release, because these days, what's dev is pushed to stable within a short period of time. Therefore, those of us using dev builds can point out problems to you guys so you can fix them before they affect everyone else. I understand you can't fully support everything, but listening to your few users who are on dev builds could save the majority of your users from having the same problem when those builds become the stable/release version. Something about an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure and whatnot. ;)

Anyways, thanks for fixing it. :)
