Are you sitting comfortably?

It lacks color, try using colour balance at the end to recitfy the washed out look.

The C4'd's are random, the wrong colour and look out of place. Try using them in Linear dodge or screen. Use colour overlay, set to colour instead of normal to change them.

All the action should be coming from his body and gun but instead you have it coming out of his foot.....

The BG is far too plain and the text is terrible. try looking where you are going to put the text when yopu start instead of adding it on as an after thought.

i just put an anti rip text on it and used no c4d at all , the background is about 4 layers of smudging....
i will go ahead and do text the way i would for an order...

I think the text is the least of your worries......

Try finding a background that fits in with the render, something futuristic perhaps. maybe download some tech brushes, inject some colour add a little smoke and blue fire and dodge, burn and blur. That should help :)

1st picture:

It's not really that great, the green effect (I assume it's c4d), it looks bad because the colour doesn't fit, you can change the colour by options, but better would be changing the layer of it, so that instead of normal, it would be colour dodge, lighter colour or something else, which would look nice. You should also make something else for background, smudging alone doesn't make a nice background, but it's good enough to do smudging, maybe 6-7 layers, where the top smudged one is overlay, and the rest of them will probably be between Darken, Lighten, Lighter Colour, Soft light, something like those, until you find something you like. After you made smudged layers, I would use some effects, c4d or something, also remember to do lighting, not on the entire image, but some of it, so that character will be more "This is what I focus on", rather than everything else.

2nd picture:

The background is random, could possibly work though. However, the colour of samus is horrible, it doesn't look nice with the rest because the colours are so different compared to the rest of the image, it should have been a little darker, and possibly some other colours, but I like that you had an idea for what to use.

I'm not really doing cnc's for people, but if possibly, I help people to learn, so if you want me to help you, feel free to ask, if you want, I can also watch while you make some work, and come with ideas for it meanwhile, should that have any interest of course.

But hey, it's good that you're trying, it's the only way to learn :).

Take care

It's a bloody awful render, in awful colours.

However, I decided to Topaz it till it gave in and looked good.

Not sure what others come up with but this is what I would do should I be unfortunate enough to be given it to work with.
