a few of us in game were talking about seeing pvp outside of the arena

for example on other games you could hold a city or a castle and guilds would own and defend these castles/cities. In the case of cities usually the guild gets a % of money off the sale on all goods sold in the city possibly even being able to build a city up from some town hall foundation that could be captured and defended as for castles usually there is no taxes earned but points for defending that can be used to buy castle defenses

this is often referred to as Territory wars and can be very in depth

so anyone who likes this idea please show your support for it so hunted cow can see the want for it from the community

finally if u have anything to add to this please dont hesitate to post it

I full support the idea of Player/guild controlled citys. I realise this would be a large endevaor for the developers, but this would add a lot to the meta game and wouldn't be something that would need to be implemented on release. It could either allow for: some passive buffs to the guild that currently owns it, a special shop that uses points for controling this city over time whilist repelling attacks.

Yes the idea of cites/castles/housing would be well and great but in order for this to happen,

1. with the player own cities i *disagree* on this One because their will be way to many cities in the game causing Lag/ and it would cost developers alot of money to create all the cities not to mention space.

2.player/guild/faction *castles* seems great but I highly Recommend their being mainly Faction/Guild Castles But to obtain One of these castles for the Faction/Guild must Require at least a certain lvl of the guild and amount of People in the faction/guild, cause if not then every noob will just start a faction/guild and create a castle which will be like *player owned cities.*

3.As far as Housing, i wouldn't mind this, One, you can have storage and display Trophys*boss heads/claws/etc..* on the walls, crating benches, workshops, armor forges, etc.. and maybe at least have a Npc> salesman that stands outside selling your items (look at Dark Age of Camelot, Housing System)*defiantly the best ive seen in any game*

But yes over all its not a bad idea, just gotta use some brain storming and good developers in on it.

first off cities are a real reality especialy if there is 1 city per map could even pull it off with 2 or 3 per map easy there is many reasons for this

1. no matter how many cities there are the number owned by players can be controlled by hunted cow perfect example is Atlantica online they started out with just a few being able to be owned and grew the amount that could be owned by players over time as they could afford it it was and still is a very profitable part of that game

2. keeping the cities to 1 to 3 on each map will help greatly with lag u dont need 10, 20 cities on the same map that isn't there purpose their purpose is to supply extra money to the guild for warfare and to establish the teritory of a guild certin cities may also hold some kind of advantage over other cities either in taxes they gain or items the guild gets providing a reason for guilds to fight for the better cities and making it more work to also defend those precious cities

3. most the memory for the cities is static and wont change much so lag isnt that much a issue since the info just sits on the database collecting dust the only time it may cause lag is when a city falls and they may occur if your lucky once a day for 2 to 5 minutes at most if at all since the city is destroyed and the new owner has to start the city from scratch reseting all the info for that city in the database built properly there shouldnt be lag

4. worse case senario 3 cities fall on same map at same time this will probably cause a lag spike on that map for maybe 30 seconds at most the ods of this happening very very remote

as far as castles yes usually there is restrictions to owning a castle

for example

you must be lvl 30

you must be a guild leader

you must have 50 gold

upkeep 10 gold per week

are just a few examples from previous games ive played like lineage 2 for example and others

castles would be placed by hunted cow so they can control the lag issue probably no more then 1 castle per map after all u will have large scale pvp on these maps so u have to keep this in mind on lineage 2 the castles were placed in areas far from other points of interest they did that on purpose to contain the lag issue that would occur when u had 400 vs 400 players competing for a castle

castles a huge profitability to the game for the developers as well because the developers can offer all sorts of power ups boosts pets siege weapons on the cash shop

finally i didn't discuss housing though i had it in mind because usually this gets implemented later on way after release but yes its a great idea and there is many games that have very nice housing systems that the hunted cow team can look at as a templet to make on here and make it unique

I'm going to make a different post for this because I've been thinking about housing as well
