Just feel like allowing the camera angel to reach 0 degrees would make it a lot more enjoyable for since it would give a fuller range of vision.

as already posted somewhere..

-->NOT POSSIBLE !!! ..by the game engine without killing even gaming desktop performance

since I like overview.. it plays like drakensang from isometric camera view.. totally ok for me

I just miss a better Zoom like Diablo/Torchlight/Titan Quest ...  to watch your equip

On the other hand not much needed without more adjustible gfx options

Pretty lame answer.  Why bother writing a computer game if you're not able to comprehend performance and efficiency issues? Go design a board game (not you, little dear; I mean the programmers on this project).

Someone said that the game is written in Java. So, I suppose using that language comes with restrictions we are not use to in games with a client version.

About 2 or 3 months ago they did increase the viewing angle by something like 5 or 10 degrees. The game is a lot more friendly in that respect than it use to be. However, there have been a number of issues with graphic studdering due to too many objects on screen, so I can understand why they would not want to increase the viewing area any more.

They have comprehended the 'performance and efficiency issues'. They achieved this with the current way the camera angle is, which allows for good performance for everybody.

I'm not going to go to in-depth here as it's clear your reply was written with hostility and little knowledge.

As Comrade says they have undergone camera changes with the addition of a few degrees, and finally the resolution and full-screen changes which allow for more immersed game play.

No words can describe how stupid this statement is.

The camera angle has been a debate since beta began, and I've already free'd it up as much as I can for now. Until we add hardware rendering (currently Eldevin is purely software rendered) we are limited by how much angle we can allow without a drastic hit in performance. It may be quite some time before it's added though, there's too much work still to do in other areas first.

Adjusting the camera angle IS possible and absolutely should be fixed.  I play many Java based games that have the camera angle adjustment available.  With the angle as is, it gives me a busting headache to be honest which limits the time I can and will play.  Also need the option to turn off tree height and building levels so the angle doesn't auto change while in forests and around tall buildings.  It is one of the most annoying parts of playing this game.  Please fix as soon as possible.

I've also found my self wrestling with the camera, as the angles can -sometimes- be quite awkward. On the other hand, the camera is perfectly functional the way it is, but I do agree it is something that could definitely use some tweaking. I don't know if zooming it out further would alleviate this problem a bit and maybe not effect performance...

There is only one place in the world where the camera angle can go to 0: the Silver Hawk Inn on the west side of the Eldevin City marketplace.   You can also get a much better look at what people are wearing, with the right positioning.

The room there is a special realm of it's own, and when you go in there, you can't see any streets outside.

It's also a rested XP area now.

I felt the same when I first started playing, but after a while I got used to the camera and it ceases to annoy now  :)

Adjusting the camera angle even a little bit more then it currently is would be a little better. Though I'm not sure how well it would work out with the way they're rendering textures it might mess up a few things. Maybe the option to set viewing distance would allow them to adjust the camera angle without affecting performance too much.

I also feel the intense need to look further up than I can currently. It kinda bothers me but I still love the game.
