Hi folks,

 

We're all working hard to get a new beta build of Eldevin ready for the end of this month.

 

This build is going to include many improvements, including :

  • Streamlining the 3 Basic Othalo Quests
  • More Tutorial / Help Tooltips.
  • Many rare / heroic items moved to Crafting Professions and stats buffed.
  • The Helmets in all sets are now created in Crafting. (Armorsmith, Leatherworking, Tailoring)
  • Added many new Rare items to armor crafting with more uniform looks.
  • Dungeons now drop Elemental Flakes and new Remnant items also used in crafting.
  • Helmets no longer available for relics, Remnants are also available for relics.
  • Elemental Flakes are now much more accessible.
  • More specific stat choices when crafting, i.e. Templar or Warrior focused Heavy Armor.
  • PvP Improvements including the first 'Wilds' (A new "Open World" PvP Island).
  • Experience Rewards added to PvP Battlegrounds.
  • More User-Interface Improvements
  • Mana Talents and Energy Improvements.
  • Potion intoxication in Dungeons improved (now 2 minutes).
  • Many Spells and Talents Balanced Further.
  • Added a new End-Game Tier to all Gathering and Crafting Professions and increased the maximum level of these to 50.
  • Adding Improved Experience Gains to Crafting and Gathering
  • Added Experience Gains to "Trial of the Champions" and "Eldevin Arena".
  • Reduced Experience from quests.
  • Game Balance improvements.
  • Improving Cooking with more recipes and more variation in buffs.
  • Improving many creatures throughout the game with new attacks and animations.
  • 2 new Gem types.
  • Adding Legendary quests with tokens that can be exchanged for useful items.

This is only a small list of the many changes and improvements we hope to have live on the beta server in a few weeks! Will update you with patch notes and more specific information as soon as possible!

Like the sound of it....balancing seems to be the buzz word :)

 

Its this remnants thing that has me intrigued....how are they going to work? whats the idea here?

so need Grind DGN find Remnats crafte helm ?

So still, Use 1 potion or mean changed to 2 min cool down ?

Yes you will need to take your remnants to a crafter or level up your crafting, these crafted items will be bind on equip.

 

More than 1 potion now yes, just 2 minute cooldown.

Hope you did pay attention to Ranger over powered dots (envenon+blazing arrow) in PVP aspect.

I do like that you can grind a dungeon but then need to find a master crafter to make a piece of your equipment.  That's getting more in line with useful crafting.

If you did nerf these skill, I certainly hope you improved something else to compensate.  The ranger is most certainly ~not~ overpowered in PvE.

Is this just an area where people can go to beat up on each other?  Or will non-PvP (or at least non-solo-PvP) people miss out on any content?

:) Nothing to hate them for, i actually think of changing to one if things are to be kept as they are.. did play as ranger time to time recenty.

 

As for pve compensations if endless DOTS are to be modified...

The main problem is 90% damage recieved, but it is to be solved at lvl 50 when all go for assasin tree gaining 15% dodge. 

The most obivious thing (considering movement speed saggestions) is to boost running buff up to 25% for player, leaving 10% party buff. Since ranger is the only Ranged damage class, the DOTs damage substraction could be aded to mass damage skills, rarely used ones.

I believe you're still thinking PvP.  While the running buff would be really nice to have, and more AOE helps in some circumstances, removing or nerfing the DOT kills single target damage.  When I'm with another ranger and they're casting envenom, I either have to greatly nerf my DPS, or greatly increase my mana use with AOE spells.  Envenom is a great opener against a boss, as it generates aggro over time.  When solo, the DOT is required for kiting.

 

The first circumstance could possibly be solved with improved mana regen and stealth shot (the lost dps could then be added to aoe as you suggested), the second with some type of health regen.  But in lieu of that (and I'm not sure I like either option as they kind of homogenize ranger and mage), I don't see any way to nerf envenom.

 

This really comes back to another topic.  As said in another thread, I've never seen a game successfully balance for both PvP and PvE without one of two tricks.  Either add a second talent build, and some PvP specific talents.  Or just have different mechanics for PvP and PvE.  Envenom could react differently when cast on a player vs. a mob.  Both likely difficult to implement, but without it HCS may have to choose which to balance, or at best settle for a 'rock/paper/scissors' with PvP.

I love how end-game tier gear has a hand in both dungeons and crafting.

Hope Vanities will be fixed and wont affect plater stats via talents anymore, so we will test a PVP as it is to be after release.

Quest experience reduced? so when the game goes live it'll be almost impossible to level without grinding or doing PvP and Dungeons, the solo orientated player will have to grind and grind just to level, and i myself prefer questing to PvP but don't mind doing group instances although i get bored doing them constantly, maybe i'm wrong in my assumption and will wait to see what happens, but if i'm right, i for one will not join when the game is live.

The ranged one handed weapon from temple of the 3 always says whenever you get it from a trade or from a greed roll via chest, you gained x50 of the item
