Quest experience reduced? so when the game goes live it'll be almost impossible to level without grinding or doing PvP and Dungeons, the solo orientated player will have to grind and grind just to level, and i myself prefer questing to PvP but don't mind doing group instances although i get bored doing them constantly, maybe i'm wrong in my assumption and will wait to see what happens, but if i'm right, i for one will not join when the game is live.

I have the same question should'nt you encourage people to quest instead of just grind not the other way around:P?

Quest experience reduced?

I could see reducing the quest XP for the early quests, when the character leveling rate far outstrips the quest level.  Currently, this is true until about the mid-20s.  From the mid-20s on quest XP works well, with some but not too much other activities necessary to level.  This is ignoring rest bonus.

With the current 'always rested' bonus it becomes extremely easy to level on quests only, even skipping some at high level.  So I can see how counting rest bonus, quest XP may need to be reduced.  The risk here, depending on the final version of 'rest bonus', lowering quest XP may penalize (and alienate based on Kezza comment et al) some more dedicated players.

And if reducing quest XP across the board is to offset rest bonus, then one has to ask what the purpose of adding the rest bonus was to begin with?  I thought the reasoning was so less active players could quest only, and spend gold/points rather then grind.

The ranged one handed weapon from temple of the 3 always says whenever you get it from a trade or from a greed roll via chest, you gained x50 of the item

Can you name it?

I love the changes on the crafting tho. I think the exp cut on quest is going to be filled by the exp you get from tradeskills.

I think It's a good step forward for crafters. The only thing missing is a better design on crafted armor/weapon. A designs that will make my armor mean : Look at all the time i've spent crafting my armor and how I wear it proudly.

We're working on other ways to gain experience points, so that there's more variety in playing for levels and quest grinding isn't the only effective way to do it. PvP and dungeon running will not be the only other options available, don't worry!

There is no doubt it is very difficult for game developers to get the balance spot on, as a first timer to this genre of game I made the assumption that the priority was completing quests to advance in the game and I believe this is where the focus should be.  I struggle to see the attraction of the PvP side of things, surely there are enough 'beat em up' games out there?

There is certainly some work to been done with the maths on some of the crafting side of things, especially the ores and WS/AS IMHO, but I would be disappointed if the game started to focus upon, and became, a beat em up, I think it would do a great disservice to the development carried out so far.

The one thing I would really like to see is the use of horses from the stables to make moving around the world quicker ( brief homage to Skyrim here I know) as the one thing that does hack me off is all the wandering about I have to do.  A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!

Stay true to the original game plan guys remember, K.I.S.S. ;)

I've never been a fan of PvP in any of the games I've played, but I do recognize the want to have it in the game.  I personally would only add it to areas such as the arenas/battlegrounds where you gain points for PvP battles, so that you can gain vanity items from the rewards.  Possibly an epic reward for an epic amount of points gained during battlegrounds.  Also, I wouldn't mind if there were one or two maps where loot drops were greater, but also an open PvP area.  Since we don't lose any items/equip during death, the only real danger is a waste of time.

I would gladly find a group to go venturing into PvP zones for greater drops, knowing that if I die, I don't lose anything.

There does need to be a huge rebalancing to crafting, however, as that's always been a huge draw 2nd to questing.  If questing and crafting are made to be useful here, then I know it will be a hugely successful game.

no "smash em up game" here: http://www.hellokittyonline.com  (hope i wont get banned for this)

may i ask you a question? what are your plans when you get to lvl 50 (end of the game)? start soloing another char from scratch (is that really so much fun running around?) or log out and never get back as there wont be a reason for return?

do you play cards / chess / football only against computer?

the only difference between being killed by npc (computer) or in pvp combat is that you should be ashamed that stupid computer killed you. fight against another real player is always several levels above in difficulty compared to any current npc (of course with much higher chance of being "virtually" killed ;) ). pvp gives you more options how to survive. for example, visitg betex cave in solo and ask the golems and their imp pets to let you pass for a small fee. maybe they will protect you against the turtle instead of killing you instantly. ;)

there shouldnt be allowed discussion whether pvp or not (or how to hide it in small "specialized" areas like arena). it should be - how to make it balanced as much as possible (similar chances for everyone on same lvl). i could live with pvp like in gothador (where you loose all your non-banked cash on you when die) everywhere but cities/villages and named indoors.

We're working extremely hard on many improvements in preparation for launch and hope to have this new build ready as soon as possible.

We're pushing to release towards the end of November, so due to time-frame we will probably skip open beta and go straight to launch.

We may possibly need to reset all characters for the next update due to the sheer number of improvements and changes being made, however we'd really appreciate your feedback on the start of the game as we've reworked the tutorial and starting area to make it a better experience for players trying out the game.

I see no problem with skipping the Open Beta to get the game out in a timely manner. Looking forward to playing for real. Not looking forward to leveling up farming again :) But will do what is necessary. Player retention depends on a solid starting area. So bring on the testing.

Where will we be able to find the announcement for the reset or the launch?

I quit beta testing (could not really find bugs :D) and I'm waiting for the reset.

To clarify, you are still planning on resetting the characters on release, whatever decision is made regarding this next beta?  Or does this replace the release reset?  The issue with the former, it may be very difficult to test crafting changes.  How far can most players get in both level and crafting in the short time between the next beta and release?

Whatever decision, I'm fine with testing the new tutorials.  Even if you don't reset, I'll just start a new character.
