Should the gold dropped / kill be changed back ?

  1. Leave it at its current >L1600 amounts (Averaged 200g/Kill) (8 votes [10.13%])

    Percentage of vote: 10.13%

  2. Change it back to <L1600 amounts (Averaged 300g/Kill) (58 votes [73.42%])

    Percentage of vote: 73.42%

  3. Compromise and change to an averaged 250g/Kill (13 votes [16.46%])

    Percentage of vote: 16.46%

Hoof has asked me to create a poll regarding gold drops from critters ABOVE LEVEL 1600 which has been brought up in the following threads :-

The gold / kill was capped from around Level 310 to average out between 300 and 310g / Kill (without doubler).

 

Then, WHAM, at L1601, that average dropped to 250g / Kill.

 

And, DOUBLE WHAM, at L1626, that average dropped to 200g / Kill

 

So, in 26 levels, players faced a 33.3%-36.5% drop in gold income.

 

Hoof has said he has no problem with raising the gold / kill again, but wants a poll running to get player feedback and thus, here it is :)

If we do increase the gold dropped again, it would only affect future content updates :)

I voted change it back. Just the increasing cost of the *&@% @^@$!) *&%#@>?  quest items you have to buy in the store is enough reason. If you want to cap those to match gold gain/kill and cap HF costs, then stay the same would be okay. If you don't want to change 2 things, then change just the one.

I cannot vote as your formulas make no sense?

 

  1. Leave it at its current >L1600 amounts (Averaged 200g/Kill) < = greater than
  2. Change it back to <L1600 amounts (Averaged 300g/Kill) < = less than

 

less than the 1600 amounts, I do not want to change it an even lower amount? Leave it at a greater amount?

 

I do understand what you have tried to do but having to then reformulate (translate) each option is annoying.

You should not be punished to reach lvl 1.600. 

300g/kill is good to me.

That's why the figures are there too ? But, let me clarify ..

 

Option 1 Leave it at its current >L1600 amounts (Averaged 200g/Kill) 

 

Means "Leave the Gold / Kill as it is now, for levels greater than L1600, averaging at 200g / kill

 

Option 2  Change it back to <L1600 amounts (Averaged 300g/Kill) 

 

Means "Change it back to how it was for levels below L1600, averaging 300/310g / kill

 

Option 3 Compromise and change to an averaged 250g/Kill

 

Means "Change it so that the gold dropped is an average of pre-L1600 and now, so averaging at 250g / kill

 

The symbols are correct btw  ;)

i still cannot vote as there is not a suitable option... With no common drops up here and the ever increasing costs of the quest items I in fact would prefer to see there being an increase in gold dropped by critters. This would be in light of there being no common drops. I am tired of people moaning at how people in the higher echelons of content are all super rich. Simple facts prove this is clearly untrue, we have less of everything!!

 

So, more gold per drop as a trade off for not having any common drops, therefore requiring us to have to sublevel to acquire both these and those Rare drops that, true to their name, are ever increasingly "rare".

I think the gold should be increased again. All the way back to 300/critter? I'm not sure. My guild has the great good fortune of having a number of EOC players - and maintaining guild gold balance since we crossed the 1600/1626 thresholds has been harder. Some habits have had to change (I no longer Hellforge high level guild gear each hunt as I did pre 1600), and the odd gold drive has been had.

 

Using cost of quest items from shops as a reason for more gold/critter is a fairly weak argument in my opinion, and is perhaps borne of the agony that is Crestoun and the constant need in those levels to buy quest items etc., but post 1600 it has not been crippling (again, in my opinion).

 

The gold/FSP exchange is stable well south of 200k/dot most of the time, which is good for the overall health of the game I think - is this because the high end players are no longer coining it every hunt? I used to hellforge because I had gold to spare. Now I don't, and have to make choices about how best to deploy resources. I certainly was not worrying about that at 300 gold/critter.

 

So I think maybe with a new release of content increase the gold to 250/critter. And watch the FSP marketplace to see how it reacts. I for one do not want to strangle the FSP supply to players with more limited resources for the sake of more gold/hunt for me, even if that would make my life as guild founder easier.

 

My possibly misguided 2d (old money!)

 

And BG - don't let this delay that content you promised todayish!! LOL!

70% want it restoring back to pre L1600 levels Hoof - is that enough of a majority for you ? :)

Change it back, I'd like to suggest say boost lower level cap to match level from 300 all the way until level 500 (a trade off in xindy and a good bit after), thereafter dropping by 10 every 20 levels until it reaches 300 again (at 900, just in time for the torture of Karthak).... and no gold for jedi. :P
