I played the beta for a while earlier on, enough to get a good idea if I would like the finished game or not.

I also submitted quite a lot of bug reports during that time, so I was not 'just visiting'.

I left the beta for several reasons, the foremost being that I did not want to have to do all again in the future, since crafting (which is one of my top interests in such games) was so time-consuming.

So, first question, do the staff has a general idea as for when the game will be released, or reach a version after which there will be no characters reset ?

Next, one of my top concerns back then was that serious crafters NEED to carry a massive amount of storage, which means large capacity containers, and at that point ALL containers of sufficient capacity for the purpose were premium items; as tester, that is not an issue, but when the game will become final it would mean that either I forego crafting, or I spend a significant amount of real money to be able to do it; the second would be an issue for me.

So, my second question: has this changed in any way since I left the beta (both in-beta feature, and release plans for crafting)?

Now, regarding PvP:

When I started following this game on an earlier website years ago, then when I started the beta, this game was then supposed to be PvE only; however I just saw at https://www.huntedcow.com/game/eldevin , following looking at the post http://forums.hunted...showtopic=59174 , that PvP is now a feature of it.

So I also need some explanation on the PvP.

I am strictly a PvE player; if PvP in this game is only duels, that is fine by me (I just won't accept any).

On the other hand, if this turns unto another free PvP game, I will just write it off.

Looking yet elsewhere, I see that there are now plans/implementation of free PvP areas.

Hence my third question: What is going on regarding PvP, is the game in the process of turning into an open PvP game, or a game where players CANNOT do all quests whithout being forced to go in open PvP areas?

So, first question, do the staff has a general idea as for when the game will be released, or reach a version after which there will be no characters reset ?

They are planning a final reset on release, currently set at end of November.  Subject to change of course.  HCS recently announced the possibitity of one more beta reset.

This is very much subjective.  Premium storage is only required if you plan to use crafting XP potions, due to their long duration.  With the current setup it's possible to gather and craft investing time instead, with additional trips to town, more manipulation of items between bank and store, lack of subscriber buff, etc.  Small bags and sacks are available for gold only, at higher level due to price.

The only serious exception to this is gems.  To collect gems you'll have to devote a good portion of shared storage, or perhaps use your second free character as a mule.

(If you're not aware, you now get two free characters and the bank has a shared vault.  Major content release happening soon, why not give the game a fresh try with the second alt?)

On the other hand, if this turns unto another free PvP game, I will just write it off.

Hence my third question: What is going on regarding PvP, is the game in the process of turning into an open PvP game, or a game where players CANNOT do all quests whithout being forced to go in open PvP areas?

Currently, PvP is only done in the arena, there is no free PvP area.  But I am also curious about the long term PvP plans.  I don't think there are any immediate plans for free PvP areas, at least not until the base game is complete.  But I'm really not certain.  HCS has said several times that PvP will never be required.  My interpretation of that includes no unique quests, as well as no unique PvE gear (any unique gear should be PvP specific).

Regarding my second question, no, I was not aware that we could now have 2 characters, but that is irrelevant unless one character is used as a mule; even then it would only make a difference if that character has large inventory, which goes back to square one of my issue.

And no, if you are a serious crafter it is absolutely NOT subjective, but a requirement to be able to do it.

As for using back and forth trips to the vault, unless we get a better travelling system that is not a valid answer, it will still take ages to gather resources in quantities required for crafting, and while some crafting / gathering is done at fixed locations, some of the gathering is done as you travel and find opportunities and THAT is the reason why massive inventory storage is required.

As for the vault, at L 15 I already had mine nearly full of crafting resources stored here (to see in advance how that would work out), and I was still a long shot away from having all types of resources there.

So basically, your answer is not close to answering my concerns on that topic; if anything your mention of the storage needs for gems (which were not in beta yet when I last tested the game) shows me that it will be even worse than I fear.

Regarding your answer about PvP, well, you should read this recent post ( http://forums.hunted...showtopic=58978 ), which clearly shows that there will be open PvP areas; some replies to this post already show that other players share my concerns about the development of PvP in this game.

The same post also mentions the increase of gathering and crafting caps to 50, which I strongly suspect will also require more types of resources and therefore even more storage, both in inventory and in vault.

The developers need ways earn money on the game and the premium bags is one of the ways.

if you don't want to pay for premium items it's often time you sacrifice instead.

atleast i gonna max bags so i don't have to take that many trips^^

you wannabe serious crafter? why? for playing the game you dont have to. only in case you want personal profit of being a crafter. hcs deserves profit as well in such case.

time is money. being a serious crafter you have to invest a lot of time or a lot of money (or combination). your choice.

Quote from my initial post, which you apparently did not read when you answered...

I don't care if I do not have to go there, but if there are quests going there, it would be an entireliy different issue; having quests in an area makes visiting that area necessary.

And being forced to go in a free PvP area is not something I accept in any game; when I find such situation, I just write the game off, regardless how long I spent on it; in some case it had been a huge waste of my time, which is why I want to know this in advance, for this game.

As far thread is post, Many don't understand is here!

http://forums.hunted...showtopic=58484

Thought understand mean's for game make income but at same time for player's that supporting them need crator toboth side Free and Payed not have it one sided!

Largest bag get right ifgoing off scal 1 - 100 = 15$ for 1 bag

Sack's - 75 cent's

take into acount for one toon! Look at easy 60$ for bag's And on top of that 20$ in sack's - 80$ for one toon be effective at game yet alone injoy game.

Minal cost 80$ injoy game to fullest!

Over all so far there is no info on Quest will be in place in any pvp area!

Honor rewards sys get item still blank waiting be updated!

Thought for my self i probly will nto be playing game after reasle do to handy cap in place on bag space's Not worth my time or in joument! If i have to use alt for mule not worth playing might as well play, pay 2 play game!

At rate of cost to ingame item just not worth it!

Founder pack's but still paying into game vs play Free! in self not free!

Free to play yes , But still paying to play game to maxize injoyment!

Play kill time, as wel linjoy my self in game role, but being limited to having to put money in game just injoy my self not worth time or effrot!

CBT been fun last long time had fill, So not messing any thing per say so far!

1) We plan on releasing the game later this month.

2) The crafting will be getting a major upgrade in the next patch coming this month, however the number of resources required won't have changed too much we are however going to be selling smaller bags with gold rather than exclusively Eldevin points now.

3) As for PvP, we are adding a small PvP island and we have the Battlegrounds. The main world areas are not open to PvP. Any quests to do with PvP would only be tailored PvP rewards. PvP in Eldevin is entirely optional.
