Really hyped about this game, but never got a chance to participate in the beta.  How exactly does open world PvP work?

Upon hitting level 15, you can head to Trapper's Atoll, our first open world PvP area known as a "Wild Zone". Here you can find powerful creatures, other players, hidden loot chests and rare resources. Participating in any of the these 4 actions will result in you gaining tokens. These are a sparkly effect that surround your character. There are a number of places in the zone you can convert your tokens into Valor currency, the trick however is not to be killed while holding tokens. If any other player kills you, he can potentially steal all your tokens are try and cash them out him or her self!

For those of us who are almost exclusively PvE, will there be any mechanism for modifying out talents temporarily?  Or do we just accept that a dedicated PvP'er will have an advantage?

This question is also relevant for BG and arena.

Meleager, ranger

Tuor, templar (Inactive)

Deimos, mage

Thangbrand, warsin (Mostly on vacation)

Bart, ??? (bene trades)

accept pvp-ers will have advantage in pvp equaly to pve-ers with advantage in pve. or? let pve-ers temporarily change to pvp and let pvp-ers temporarily change to pve? :D be serious pls. create 2 chars, one for pve, other for pvp and you are fine ;)

I don't think there will be any dedicated PvP'ers unless they have spent a little money on the game and can dedicate a 2nd character solely to it.  The game is geared towards PvE, and anyone who specs PvP on their only character is going to be nerfed.  Not saying there won't be some, but I don't feel it will be many.

What you're probably going to end up seeing is packs of people running together to grief individuals to take their stuff.  I don't have experience with the PvP aspect yet, however, so it's hard to guess what's going to happen.

Would you like some cheese with your whine?

How many "Wild zones" are there?  The tokens idea is brilliant!  I know what I'll be doing lol  Thanks for all the replies.
