My Suggestion:

 

 

I've noticed, when you Trade:

 

 

 

He'll start walking around, and while you're in the Trade Screen examining the Seeds seeing what level Grows What and what levels are Needed.he'll Wander off and you'll loose the Trade Screen.

 

If it's possible to just leave the Trade Screen Up while he's Walking away.

Or just make him stand still while you're talking to him. After all, it's rather rude of him to just walk away while you're trying to buy stuff from him.

Also by any chance are you an Ice Mage?

 

So you can Freeze him a Bit!
