You can already trade fusion powder, by having a player give you all the gems + shards, then use your powder to fuse the gems for them, charging a fee or not.

With friends this works fine, but it is open to people scamming others I guess, if someone is foolish enough to trust a complete stranger with all their gems.

Would it be better to unbind them? and make them a new trading commodity?

I'm not sure, but it is worth discussion I guess.  :P

The use of fusion powder which your describing is a service, if a player wishes to trust their items in the hands of another then so be it.

If selling fusion powder services catches on we'll probably see a deposit that is given when the other hands their items over to be fused.

It should be left bound so it gives a reason to go and farm it if you need some and want to fuse gems yourself, if it was unbound there would be no effort in acquiring the max level gems. The rich players would dominate others by buying up all the fusion powder.

I would love to see fusion powder unbound.  It would ensure safer trades when fusing gems.

It can already be traded, that is my point. If there was no loophole I would not of made the suggestion.

Maybe we can think of a way to close the loophole?

I can not think of anything right now though  :P

An easy way would be to unbind fusion powder and allow it to be marketable.  Not only do you have to entrust your gems to another as it is. if you're allowing them to use their fusion, but also the gold necessary to purchase the shards (which is a very substantial amount 5gold per smallest shard) necessary to fuse.  Unbinding fusion powder would solve both problems.

would love to be able to buy/sell fusion powder. Probably would only ever buy it and not sell, even that though would be great!

Easiest way to solve this problem is - to bind crafted gems :)

edit: well zook was faster :P

Yeah I thought about the binding of fused gems, but then felt it would be harsh on a player who spent hours and/or a ton of Gold to get a high tier Gem, not being able to recoup some of that when they no longer need it (changing class for example).

Its a tough one to find a fair fix for, the loophole I mean. That is why it might end up being better to just unbind powder.

I am still kinda sitting on the fence though, on this suggestion  :D

If you bind fused gems then using a second person to assist fusing becomes impossible, the gem is then bound to them and cannot be returned to the other player. *facepalm*

Unbound fusion powder would be ideal, it would open a new market and would stop scams.

Unbinding the powder will enable gem crafting to be like any other crafting service, where the fusion powder is just another material. Concur it should be not bound.
