If there was a way to do this using the new Buff Market, it could help a lot of players, especially when trying to help new guildmates get the most out of their hunts when they can't afford to buy the buffs themselves.

I like that jsut last night form the buff list i was requested to buff a fried of theirs with the same buff they had just bought so I spam buffed the persons frined to help their hunting go smoother and less expensive congratulations I have to new freinds great job on the buff house hoof I like where it is going

I was just thinking this is a good thing for pvpers. Reviewing the buff house I decided to go to check out a lot of names of people who are buffing some had sizeable amount of gold on them as they have been buffing for gold. As much as I do not get in to pvp ( mainly i just dont have the time for it ) seems like this new buff house is going to be fun for them and as previously stated i have already gained 2 new contacts out of it + to you hcs I am feeling like money well spet on those octo pots :)

I love this (actually asked for this weeks ago) but I believe what Kedyn was asking for is a way for me to buy buffs from someone to be cast on another player.

I have been messaged multiple times in the past with requests like "Can you please buff ____ with ___ and I'll pay you".

Thanks WWWolf - that's exactly what I was saying. It would be nice to use the marketplace to also be able to purchase buffs for other players (ie friends, guildmates, whomever need apply).

However - I do like the idea Hoof suggested as well - where you can go to the buffers page where there could be better prices (and packages) outside of the maximum amount of buffs (ie - it's hard to have a 2 buffs / 1 dot or 5 buffs / 2 dots deal whenever you can have a ton of combinations of different buffs).

Exactly! If you are going to sell buffs for gold, you best be watching how much gold you have on hand and banking it...

In other words, if you are selling buffs, it's in your interest to be online.

It may liven up the Bounty board some also... But a lot would be out of my Range to clear...

I just noticed this a few hours ago.  Apparently some of the buff sellers are listing their buffs multiple times  That is the same buff(s) for the same price, and doing it several times in a row.  I'm fine with listing different single buffs, etc. But doing the same one over and over strikes me as a way to get around having to repost the buffs.

On second thought, hoof, this update is good for new players. High competition dropped buff prices a lot. On that side,i like it. But i m afraid of he future. It did kill the market for the active high level players. They cant sell buffs that cheap (stalker for 45k gold now) so the buffers are mostly inactives on auto. But still, it has a good side.

You don't need to be online to sell the buffs. The only "time" you need to be active is when your buff count hits 0 and you just need to edit and retype 100. That is if they don't have the same package created multiple times - thus giving them 20+ times of the same buff package that can be sold.

Is it easy to get buffs now? Yea. Have prices dropped substantially? Yes. Has this changed a way for players who took the time to buff? Yes. It's happened, but people will adjust - they'll lower their prices if they want to sell buffs, but will just use a bit more stamina that way.

Hoof - when looking into whether we can buy buffs for other players - can we make it so that it's only people on Friends List or within your guild? (I see many ways to really abuse the system in PVP/GVG or just to make people mad that you don't like).

any chance for the buff market gold to be deposited directly in your bank? If your going to try to sell buffs while offline (I think that is the intent of this new system), then I think we should fully embrace it.

Bad idea. No need to buy deposits anymore. Just have friend buy my 2,000,000 qf buff

True.

And also if you sell buffs while you are not playing (since you are on auto refresh), at least there's a chance to get hit for gold.

If you want to avoid it, play the game instead of auto refresh do it for you ;)

This was already going on before the auto buffing / 100 count limit was introduced. I doubt it is in order to avoid re-listing of buffs, since the buffs do not sell _that_ fast. Even when i put up 5x Summon Shield imp for 1 gold, it took 45 minutes to get those sold. Additionally you get robbed several times of your gold before even one of the 100 counts is used up. Seems more likely to me that it is done in order to push out the competition.

Thanks Kildek, I'd only just noticed it. And hadn't even thought of the competition thing.  This does bring up an interesting point though:  How long DOES it take to go through a 100 count round?

Pretty much depends on which buff you sell, and at which price.

Buffs sold (for gold) during Friday, Saturday + Sunday, during online time about 20-24 hours in total. I have other buffs listed for gold, but these are the ones, that sold the most.

Coordinated Attack 30 stamina to cast, for 35k sold 15 times
Extend + Buff Master 40 stamina to cast, for 17,5k gold 12 times (i have since then raised the price)
Got attacked once in PvP with 320k gold on hand, and lost about half of it + 2,8 mill XP.
I only have up to level 1000 buffs. It is likely the level 1200+ buffs are more popular + i could have sold more at lower prices.
Still, if you pretty much just give away buffs, you run out of stamina. If you just require something for your buffs, you get robbed before you use up those 100, let alone 4x100 = 400.

No. If you are using this to attempt to full automate something we have obviously put limits on, you will have to take the risk of losing the Gold you've gained while you are not paying attention.

HCS can you please change the minimum Casts limit, so it is possible to set that to 0? Right now the minimum casts entered is 1. That way it is possible to disable buffs, without affecting the "Toggle All on/Toggle All Off".

I was definitely surprised to find no apparent limit to the number of buff packages (six so far)... I was expecting something more like the auction house, a limit of two or three and then pay some FSP for more (with a cap to upgrades). 100 casts also seems pretty high. I'm going to join the chorus asking for some limits here. Between the ease of circumventing the 'needs to be online' requirement and the potential for abuse, I think that's pretty reasonable.

The convenience factor is not to be denied. I can actually hunt when I'm ready now, instead of spending hours or days trying to find a buffer who is actually both online and buffing. Also, more people have paid for my buffs through the buff market than ever requested them for free before (still listed as free in my bio).

<snip>

As for the problem of a buffer listing the same buff for the same price several times, to "push out" the competition:
I can not see a good way, how the code can be changed, in order to avoid this. Any limit of listing buffs at the same price can be circumvented if you change the price just a little, like by 1 gold. Currently it is not a real problem as i have only seen 1 buffer doing this since the buff market was introduced, and the buffer has not done it for some days now. Personally i prefer if abuse like this gets solved by opening a ticket. Trying to solve this by code might end up getting everyone punished.

Edit: Unfortunately it is still going on, same guy. 4x Summon Shield Imp for gold, with 5 gold in difference in price. 2x the same buff pack for 1 fsp, and a third buff pack with just little variation for 1 fsp.
Something that could be done, is if HCS would define "buff market rules", abuse would be reported by ticket. Alternatively an "ignore buffer" feature.

Edit2: Noticed another buffer (different one than before), who had listen 6x Summon Shield Imp for 1 fsp. This bad practice might be spreading.

Maybe it's just me, but the icons for the 'Extras" seem to have disappeared. When I first load the page the briefly appear but then disappear. I can still mouseover where they should be and get the stats for Fury Caster, etc but the icons are invisible.
