testing benediction....

i think there is something wrong with this skill/its talents....

 

ok i might be looking at this wrong if so then sorry but it just isn't making sence to me....

 

bene was changed to...

 

  • Benediction now heals for 100% up from 60%.

 

ok, i just respecced put talents in focused healing (increase amount i heal for) and lasting supplication (increase benedictions healing by 140% of my dps)

 

i tested benediction i healed for 179 heal per second....

 

now that alone raises questions as my base healing was about 8.6k  and my dps was 850-900 ish... i forget and have since added more talents...

 

 

so then i went on and added the rest of my talents, to get master of arcane, and purification increasing my dps.... aswell as drank a healing potion and had warriors buff, making me over 1.2 k dps and 9731 healing

 

bene now heals for 189 health per second....

 

so i gain more than 1k healing power and 400ish more dps and the heal from bene only increased by 10 points? this doesn't make sense...

 

 

at this healing power i have a base healing of 574 per second.... a 100% healing spell only healing for 189 per second?  and thats not counting the +140 of my DPS added to the healing from the talent....   but rejuv is a 30% healing and heals for 276 each tic... something doesn't add up.

 

 

 

maybe once again i'm being retarded and missing something obvious or maybe there is something wrong and this should be in bug section?

Based on those numbers, it appears that the tooltip is wrong. Lasting Supplication seems to add 140% of your Spell HEALING, not your Spell DPS, over the listed duration.

 

With your Essence of Growth and 9731 Healing Power, your 'Heal DPS' is roughly 920.7 Healing. I say roughly because the Spell Healing calculation is roughly similar to the Attack Power calculation for DPS.

 

Since Benediction(untalented) heals for 100% Spell Healing over a 6 second duration, that's 16.67% Spell Healing per second.

 

Benediction(with Lasting Supplication) heals for 240% over a 12 second duration, so that's 20% Spell Healing per second.

 

920.7*0.2 = 184.14 (a few hp off of the calculation you got, but that's in the ballpark of your numbers)

 

If the same calculations were performed with your Spell DPS they would end up being in the ~230 HP/second, so that's clearly off.

And you go through all of them to see what works together. Not with "feeling", but pure calculations.

Still a good skill, not broken how it was before but usabble as a prophet, but 500g ticks me off

not it is still a horrible skill, you're going to get crimson chain anyway so really you're just looking for something to use between that... so choices are bene talents or dark prayer. prayer heals for more and takes 1 talent point... so is now a much better choice  (thats if you even need something other than crimson..  though kinda hate posting this because now they're going to nerf crimson...) lol

Benediction

20% Healing per second, to 5 targets. Thats 100% healing per second.

Total Healing Done = 240% (per target) up to 1200% for 5 targets.
30% Damage Reduction, to 5 targets.

Long Cooldown. Can be cast once every 45 second with 50% Haste.

 

I'd say that the 30% Damage Reduction is what still makes Benediction worth it. (Even tho I'm not using it anymore :P )
And the long duration makes it possible to Combo Benecidtion with Snowfall (to get another 50% damage reduction and strong heal, mana regen). Noone should ever die during those 10 seconds you have that combo up.

 

 

Then you mentioned Rejuvenate as a reason why Benediction healing is so low. That is false.
 

If we compare it to Rejuvenates healing per tick you get the wrong Healing per second. I mean 20% per tick against 30% doesnt look good at all. BUT Rejuvenate heals every 3 seconds, NOT every second. Which makes it 30% less healing over 3 seconds compared to Benediction (Maxed), and still about 19% less healing if you didnt max Benediction. (And thats only calculating it towards a single target)

 

Rejuvenate
30% Healing per 3 second on one Target. (I think it lasts 18s)

Total Healing Done = 180%
Short Cooldown. Can be cast on several members during the 12s Benediction last.

 

Benediction is still a good healing spell, but for the 500g, 4 talent points and long cooldown. I'm not sure its worth it, and I'm not using it at all anymore.
