Why trick us with hotkeys?

If you won't let us change them, then take them off system options.

 

Nothing more frustrating for a new player to not be able to change key binds, its 2014 for crying out loud.

It's on there now as an easy reference.  The ability to change the keys is coming in some future update.

I am at a loss why this is not a priority. I guess they want to make the level 40s happy by adding content. Yet, they have not actually finished the fundamentals yet (Hotkeys, Guilds, Auction/Shop).

 

Notice that there are no keys to select party members either? That makes playing a Prophet incredibly hard.

 

Hopefully this is included in the first patch, and not the last one this month.

This is content month -- local client, hardware renderer and keybinding is future if I'm not mistaken.

Its time for our monthly update, this month we're mainly focusing on content as the technical team is hard at work in the background on the hardware graphics, downloadable client and custom key binds. Our artists are also working hard to rebuild parts of the world as many models had been optimized for a top-down view and while we're at it we've improved some the textures and graphics. Here's a few screenshot examples :

We're aiming at 2 content releases in March, and we're also looking at a third shortly after. So without further ado lets talk content! smile.png

Back in beta before I got used to the keyboard it was really annoying to play.

 

Now it's only mildly uncomfortable/painful. ;)

 

Also hoping that keybinds make the next update.

Well I am waiting for the most asked for fix to come out.... Camera Angle that I have seen more people ask for then any thing else... Content is always good.. But losing players over the Camera is not good...

Again, as we've said before, the content and technical teams are separate - we are working on expanding content AND keybinds/camera/hardware rendering all at the same time. Keybinds actually are a priority and while I'll leave an actual time estimate to LT or Mojawk, I'm pretty sure they're very close to completion. I handed over the GUI design to be implemented over a week ago and last I heard they were almost done.

 

The tab at the moment is for reference so players can read a full list of which keys do what.

That is quite logical, but somehow people have a hard time understanding it.

You don't want a coder to work on graphic design, or a graphic designer work on code. :P

 

Every employee at HCS has their own area of expertise. And one can't just move people from one project to another, because these people simply can't do the work that the other project requires of them. :rolleyes:

The movement function in conjunction with the camera needs to be looked at too. It's super clunky the way it is now. But once keybinds and the camera situation gets sorted out i think it'd be pretty comfortable.

I hope they get the existing key bindings working for Mac users before making them configurable. :-(
