hello cows and players..maybe someone can enlighten me as to what i see as not correct..i have a level 189 amulet..2 stats- defense and hp ..i do the first hell forge level, i get +4 to each def and hp, seems to be about correct...then i do the 2nd hell forge and once again all i get is +4 to each stat ?  much confused..how can it be the same when hell forge page says min of +10 between stats, not including the +1 forevery 50 levels of gear ..even worse, i did that level and then on the 3rd hell forge level, again it says all i get is +4 to each stat ?  when page says +15 min for stats, again not including +1 for item level....something is not right...i have hell forged many items and have never seen it always be the same increase and such small increase..i do not wish to do the 3rd level hell forge since it is expensive and not giving me but +4 increase to just 2 stats ? ..i fear 4th level hell forge would be the same thing....something is wrong...someone please explain why.. and why does hell forge say min of 15 when i only get total of 8 for 3rd level forge...again something seems off...help me

The +5, +10, +15, +25, and +50 are minimum total stat points up to your current hell forge level.

that answers nothing...why is the first, second and third hell forge levels giving me the same gain...2nd and 3rd levels should give more stat bonuses than 1st level....i have hell forge a lot...each level used to give more stat bonuses for each level, not the same bonuses..someone from cows please explain why each level is the same bonus

It has always been that the first three give the same, and that the 4th and 5th give considerably more effect.

The numbers given on the hellforge page are the total effect of upgrading to that level. So it is saying that two hell forges gives +10 minimum and not that the second hell forge gives +10 minimum

Also, the numbers are total stat points, to be divided amongst the stats. So your 1st hell forge gave you +8 (2 x +4), and your second gave another +8, making a total of +16 for two forges. You would get another +8 for the 3rd, presumably about +16 and then +40 for the 4th and 5th (giving a total of 80 = 2 x 40 for the full forging)

thanks rowbeth for a much better explaination..i guess since there used to not be a preview of what you get..and i did all 5 forges quickly before..i never noticed that the first 3 levels gave the same...seems like a ripoff for gold to get the same for first 3 levels...since it has increasing percentages and min amounts for each level when you look at the hell forge page

If you were not so blinded by your frustration, you would have seen this answer to be sufficient to explain your OP, upon a very small amount of investigation.

This poster was gracious enough to spell it out like a 1st grader for you.  No need to be rude to others trying to help your original request, that, might I remind you, was a product of your own oversight.

Have an evening.

Swearing, even starred out, is not acceptable on the forums. Cheers!

I wouldn't call me gracious here. As a teacher by trade (well by half my trade) I've learnt that something that seems obvious to one person become completely obscure if you start with different assumptions.

Personally, I would say the +5, +10... on the hellforge page is ambiguous. What is the + doing there? To what are you adding it? And in answer to the second question, I have a lot of sympathy for people who think it means you add it to the previous addition. Hence, when someone is already thinking +5, +10, +15 means +5 +10 +15 it becomes very easy to overlook the significance being placed on a few commas.

I originally intended to post a more detailed reply to the OP (even to the point of providing an example, hence the 'Edited by' in my comment yesterday), but at that time I felt that the description in the Hell Forge page (e.g. +3% to total stat points (min +15), +6% to enhancements") was already a give-away that providing an example would be overkill (at least that's what I think).

The Upgrade Preview in the Hell Forge page can be improved by listing the bonuses gained per level of hellforging (via a table) for all 5 levels, not just the item's next hellforge level. It should highlight the rows/hellforge levels already done on the item.
