Hey, so I recently remembered I had copy and pasted Eldevin's lore from the old website and still have it.
I saw that Eldevin still didn't include the Lore section onto their website again, so I thought I'd post this for new or experienced players to read... as it really goes into detail about Eldevin's past - and what made Eldevin the way it is today.

History
The kingdom of Eldevin was a green and plentiful land. For generations it had been ruled over by the Eldevin family. They ruled with compassion and honor, and their subjects rewarded them with their loyalty.
This kingdom was so prosperous that it grew quickly. Soon the King was forced to seek out new lands and resources to keep the kingdom going.
Discovery
A team of three miners were combing the mountains near Eldevin, when they stumbled upon an entrance to an unknown cave.
The miners steeled themselves and ventured inside. Once inside the inauspicious entrance they were confronted by a vast network of caves. They explored for hours, finding many ancient treasures and relics from all over the world. Excited by what else they might find, they pushed deeper in to the caves. Far underground they entered a vast cavern.
Strange noises came from the darkness, and as their eyes adjusted to the gloom, the miners could make out a faint glow in the distance. Not wanting to turn back in case they missed a greater treasure, they edged forwards. Closer to the light they came, closer still until they could see where the unearthly glow was coming from. Before them lay five huge mounds of treasures and trinkets.
On top of each was a dragon, deep in slumber. The miners dared to get closer. They had to know what was creating the distinctive glow. From the edge of the nearest mound, they could see a ball of pure light.
A wild roar thundered through the cavern. Turning around the miners gazed in horror. A dragon, hidden in the darkness had awoken and spotted them. It leapt on the hapless miners. Only one survivor escaped from the caves.
Battle of the Dragons
It was not long before the miner was summoned before King Harold himself. The miner fearfully recounted his tale. Harold's eyes lit up at the mention of the balls of light. The Eldevin family had long been in possession of a similar Sphere. Since the founding of the kingdom it had been used to control the forces of Nature, helping the land to flourish. Ancient legends told of five other Spheres, lost to the ages.
Between them all they have power over all creation. No army could stand against such devastating forces. Realising the threat to his kingdom, King Harold knew that he would have to lay claim to them before anyone else.
The King divided his army in to five legions, each led by one of his majors. Each legion was tasked with finding and retrieving a Sphere. When they reached the caves the dragons had already left. After many days of searching the caves, the legions became separated.
Each found their own way out and were confronted by a land transformed by the Sphere. It didn't take long before they found the dragons. Many fine soldiers and mages died fighting. Eventually the dragons were overpowered and fled, leaving the Spheres behind. Victorious, the troops returned to Eldevin City bearing their trophies. To honor his majors, the King promoted them to colonels and granted them the title of champion.
Once the Spheres had arrived in Eldevin, King Harold told his son and the champions the Legend of the Spheres. Each one represents one of the fundamental elements of the world; Dark, Light, Fire, Ice, Nature and Blood. The Royal family had been in possession of the Nature Sphere since the founding of Eldevin. However, the legend never said what would happen if the six Spheres were reunited.
Curiosity soon got the better of the King. Gathering together his council, his champions, a selection of his finest soldiers and mages, and his son, he decided to combine the Spheres. Once the Nature Sphere had been placed on the altar alongside the others, the reaction was immediate and the consequences were cataclysmic. The Spheres paired off with their counterparts, Nature with Blood, Fire with Ice, and Dark with Light. They clashed violently, nullifying each other's power. This combined force tore a hole in existence, creating an unstable portal to a black Void.
To their horror, King Harold was standing too close to the edge. Caught off guard by the Spheres' reaction, he and his soldiers were pulled through the portal. The unstable portal collapsed explosively, destroying the altar and sealing the King and his men in the Void. The soldiers and mages lost that day were named the "Lost Legion".
Aftermath
Prince Ryan took the mantle of leadership in his father's absence while the Queen was lost in her grief. The Prince believed that his father was still alive.
So strong was his resolve that the Arcane Council started work on safely reopening the portal as quickly as possible. After several more failed attempts, and more people being lost to the Void, Prince Ryan finally accepted that the Spheres were too dangerous to keep together.
Until they understood how to use them, the Spheres would have to be separated. To this end, he ordered his five champions to each take a Sphere to the far corners of the world. It would be their duty to protect them from any who would abuse their power. There they would remain until Prince Ryan sent for them. The Nature Sphere would stay in Eldevin.
Sir Nevan took the Light Sphere north-west, to the Order Of Life in the Golden Valley. Sir Eamon took the Ice Sphere north-east, to the Alkberg Tundra. To the city of Vambrok in the south went Sir Davian carrying with him the Blood Sphere. Sir Magnus went across the ocean to the Searstone Islands in the south-west. He took the Fire Sphere. The final Sphere was taken by Sir Tristan, the most accomplished of all the champions. He took the Dark Sphere south-east, towards the Hortic Dominion.
Corruption
Over the years Prince Ryan oversaw many designs and experiments for reaching the Void safely. Using Orbs extracted from the Spheres before they were separated, they eventually formed small, stable portals between this world and the Void.
Unknown to the Prince, the Spheres began to exert their influence over the champions. Slowly at first, they captivated the champions, corrupting their minds. It did not take long before they were consumed completely.
The Spheres did not just affect people. It warped the very land itself. The effects were so pronounced that six distinct territories were formed. The champions were obsessed with their new domains, they cut off ties with one another. Soon they were fiercely defending their borders. It is unknown why Prince Ryan and Eldevin Kingdom remained free from such corruption. Some say that is why the Nature Sphere is held in a sceptre, and why the Prince uses it sparingly.
Sir Tristan, now Emperor Tristan of the Infernal Empire, yearned for more power and control. Only the natural opposition of the Light Sphere held him and his Empire in check. Unable to attack Sir Nevan's forces directly, for Nevan's Light Sphere would nullify the Dark Sphere's effects. Tristan instead turned his gaze upon Eldevin.
Prince Ryan's army was split across the world, leaving the Kingdom weak and defenseless. There would never be another opportunity like this to seize the Nature Sphere. If he defeated Eldevin, Tristan would have both the Nature Sphere and the Dark Sphere at his disposal. Nothing would stand in the way of Tristan's ultimate domination.
Current Situation
As the Infernal Empire moves on Eldevin, Prince Ryan ordered the Arcane Council to pool their knowledge of the Spheres. They used the remaining Orbs to open portals to the Void in the vain hope of recovering the Lost Legion.
Your adventure begins here. As a member of the Lost Legion, you have been stuck in the endless Void for years. Finally you caught sight of a portal home. So much has been lost and forgotten, but one thing remains.
