Quests. I notice that in the poll, you completely ignored a key part of the game -- the questing. The quests play out the storyline, and cover all aspects: short and easy, short and difficult, long with grinding, long with variety, long with puzzles. Players that only grind and do instances are missing a major aspect of Eldevin.

Last boss is easy. Healer has to use no skills that give any sort of buff but bene (snowfall, the final boss absorbs it easily and heals to full HP off it.)
We healed the last boss no buffs for any of us and it was challenging/rewarding when we finshed.
Back to the main post.
I agree that dungeons should be challenging and semi-short (20-30 minutes) not long and boring (40-50)
The new dungeons are sadly too much of the last with so many trash mobs to clear, even when you pull 2-3 groups at a time it still takes a long time to finish.

I like all 3 options myself, it would just depend on what mood I'm in and how long I'm on for.
Sometimes it's nice just to escape from the real world and socialise a bit. When you have to constantly think and you could play all day it will feel grindy anyways no matter what you do. I just wouldn't want to be forced into using Raidcall and teamspeak like alot of other games do (For the days I'm feeling Ern ) which is most days lol.

Also please make the bosses complete able if you follow some sort of tactic that are told in the quest, i.e. a boss heals from your healing spell (in lore: earlier boss: Haha, your healspamming won't get you through this, you'll have to fight like men!(okay that might be too obvious, but still it was just a suggestion made in a couple of minutes)) If the boss heals three times, then HCS should add a way to avoid the boss to heal!

I think there should be a short way with lots of harder creatures and a long way where to concentration is less. Long way could include 1 boss at a time, while short way could have multiple bosses at a time.

Fun = Doing some thing injoy doing.
Mindless Grind drawn out task with lack of reward or injoyment is not fun.
Over kill for hr's find gear completing Quest give littler to no reward or lack of story line make worth reading text.
Grinding is faster then Quest make's Quest lack of mean's to compelted story line not worth reading.
Lack Quest over to gain lvl's thougt just Questing.

Add more to this list not sure is any more as not much in way of fun.

I don't like the direction this game is going with the instances. I definitely won't be playing this game when they require 100 hours of mindless instance running at 50. Right now, I refuse to run RG when it takes 47 minutes a run; I won't waste 69 hours of my life that brings no enjoyment at all.
I remember when the intention of games use to be supplying entertainment. Apparently, that's been lost over the years, in favor of stretching content out so much that they expect us to be mindless drones, spending money in order to waste our life doing menial, repeated tasks, as a hobby! No thanks HC. I'll spend 69 hours of my life watching movies, reading books and playing other games instead.
i believe that dungeons should be long and hard, should require organization and positioning
thats what makes the dungeons - when someone mentions it, the things that pop in your head should include "hard, long, challening, good rewards" other than this is pointless in my opinion
if the dungeons are short and easy, thats just stupid

Ok. So did 3 full runs of Bochdaen's Tomb today, it's a lot more challenging and fun than Rumble's Grotto. The mob pulls have a giant skeleton that will randomly one shot anyone not paying attention, so everyone has to keep on their toes. The 1st three bosses are more or less a tank and spank, but they all spawn adds, so it's harder for the tank who has to keep pulling stuff to him. 2 of the 3 has decent hp though, around 500-700k, so the length of the fight is decent. The third one has over 1m hp, and it gets long.
As for Shadowcaster, we spent around 10 wipes in the 1st two runs to learn him, and he takes strategy, positioning, knowledge of what to do and not do, enough dps to down him before he enrages, and a few other things so hes a lot of fun. I won't say what exactly to do here, discover it yourself, more fun that way ^^. But anyway, good job on this last boss HCS.
First run took around 100 minutes, and next 2 runs around 60-70 minutes each. Still kinda lengthy for only 5 relics though, could shorten run by lowering 3rd boss hp, and a few of the mobs. Thanks for all the feedback on these, we're certainly reading it all. We aren't going to rush into any changes till its been live a little longer to gather some more feedback.
Has anyone beat Ascended Secluded Valley since the changes?

havent tried it yet...took one look at the hp of the first mobs and ran out.
as to the new dungeons we are currently doing 25-30 min runs on grotto if all goes well, crypt takes a bit more time but thats down to dying/people going afk more than anything else. almost have enough for the chest piece allready so its not as if the set is gonna take forever to get ![]()

As far as I know, no one has tried ASV yet, since words floating around that it's impossible to do without 45 set.

I didnt notice a lot of difference in the stats of the 45 set compared to 40 one and double if it would make a lot of difference ![]()
It does make a difference to tank with more armor , vitality etc .
But i feel theres not much difference for on amount of dps and other stats like that .

So we attempted ASV. medi3vil nearly died from the 1st 5 mobs guarding entrance. and took 5 minutes to kill them. did a few more mob groups , wiped, and we just gave up. so bleh.
Mobs have 200k hp, theres a ton of them, there are goblins too, more patrols, dogs don't disappear anymore. And can't make bigger pulls. Most people didn't like doing ASV when it came out pre-45, only wanted the daily chest since it was the same as the world boss chest. Now it's even longer than before o.O

Regarding length of time to do dungeon instances -- too long equals not fun because most people have real lives. I can run TR in a 5 character party four times in 1 hour. (Yeah we did it once in just over 8 minutes as a speed run but that was unusual.) It took 32 TR completions to get enough remnants and relics for the set. 32/4=8 hours for the set. By halfway through it was really...just doing it for the set and no other reason.
There is a type of personality who will grind away at anything for uber long periods just to "win" something, but the longer it takes there are percentage-wise fewer who will do it. If you go too far just the OCD people will do it, especially if the rewards are not high. For the game is to be a profitable enterprise this circle must be squared.

what i'd like to suggest is to increase the enrage timer from 10 to 12 minutes.

I kind of agree on that, we do have real lifes and too long dungeons means them getting boring.
But if i do a dungeon for about 1hours[yeah 1 hour long dungeon]
i would want a reward that is worth doing it. Making dungeons long so that people dont roam around in 45 set the first week isnt what they need to do. they need to make the dungeons so that once we get our set, we will still wish to do the dungeon cuz it was interesting/fun with friends/has good loot chances/ or anything that keeps our interest .
This will help new players get their equips and make community better.
