I voted, but on two questions question 2 the options don't really reflect my opinion.
On the second question, leave east and west as is. But I'd love a world map and the ability to view the map of any realm I've visited regardless of where I am.
On question three, I think the current map is good. But more zoom levels would be a nice addition.

the reason I believe that eldevin kingdom west and east should be combine is to show just how massive this game is. As of right now, you start inside of a void not knowing who you are and how you got here. Than your dumbed out into an open field where a person than tells you who you are and how you got stuck inside the void. after this is, if your like me, you look at the map to get your barring and find oh a big chunk of this area is taken up by the City of the same name as the game. If we combine west and east Eldevin kingdom it will give newbies a sense oh god this is a browser game! I can't wait to get into other areas of the game. also it would feel more complete of an area/zone if west and west where one big zone. We cold just simple be given a large map that shows both parts of the Kingdom.
I know this is a browser game, but could we not have bigger zones once we get on steam. I'm figuring while we will never get out door zones the size of a wow or Everquest zone, we should at least try.

Eldevin East and West were originally one large zone (pre-beta I think). We split it in half because it was just TOO large. You were having to load assets for areas you would likely never visit.
I'm afraid I'll have to veto that part of the discussion. ![]()

Oh my, I wasn't aware just how big the Eldevin kingdom west and east was, thanks for telling us. Now because of this I diced to start a discussion on how we could in improve the starting experience or what you like about it. I know HC planes to revamp it later on down the road, but it sill wouldn't hurt to discuss what we think is the best and worst parts of it. Starting experience, is what newbies experience in let's say three stages. the first thirty minutes (if they make it this far), the next thirty minutes and the last thirty minutes (This finale stage is where they are hocked on the game and want to continue playing, but they could still quite cold turkey).

With my last alt, I reached lvl 7 in about 1.5 hours ( as a supporter), and I wasn't pushing, grinding or using an additional xp-booster.
So I think the starting experience is just fine. ![]()

My suggestion for maps would only be: Cow should have the map images on a single web page for: Eldevin East, Eldevin West, Nasaroth, and Greenleaf Island. This should be visible to all and should be highlighted for potential and new players. This would help them get a perspective for how big the game actually is. The images on the web page should be large.

I don't think that the east and west maps need to be combined, but I'd like to be able to refer to other maps even without being in those areas physically. For example, if I'm in Eldevin Kingdom (East) and someone asks a question about where to find a specific shop in Eldevin, I'd like to be able to give more specific directions than just "Go north until you find it" or something. My memory might also be hazy, so I might accidentally give the wrong directions if I can't actually look at the map.
This would be similar to Praetor's (ChicagoStorm) suggestion, except that I prefer to access the maps in-game instead of opening another tab on my browser.

It's not HCS (I don't think), but somebody (or bodies) have been building up the wiki. Not 100% complete yet, but should be what you're looking for. http://eldevin.wikia.com/wiki/Areas
I agree with you, Brioche, that having the maps in-game would be great. But this is a stopgap until it reaches priority on HCS already overcrowded schedule.

I wouldn't mind roaming around looking for trees if they respawned faster. Yesterday I was doing a circuit of 10 trees and everytime i went around the circuit, only 4 were up (and yes i was the only one in the area).
If you're doing any other gathering circuit, you only need to do 3-5 nodes before the first one is back up. Many other nodes are also grouped in a small location (except foraging).
Fishing is all within the confines of the water
Mines have fast respawn rate and you never need to search far (as well as random world nodes)
Skinning.. well animals are everywhere
Not to mention logs take up 2 spots so you can only farm 1/2 as much as some other professions.
