So who picked the magic carpet riding stance?

Why can't the posture be more like a skateboarder/snowboarder with one foot forward?

+1 for sitting, and when you start to move you hold the front edge

The obelisk sitting emote would go great with carpet.

Hehe, well the reason I can't really (yet) have the player in a side pose is that his feet would have gone through the undulating carpet. This is because currently we can't sync the animations of the player to that of the attachment (mount). So the player currently stands in the middle where there is no up and down motion on the attachment. Later on we should be able to fix this, but we need some things from Cowboy to do that.

A sit animation would have been fine though, I'll give it a go if people would prefer it over the standing pose.

I would, but maybe (if you can) make it selectable?

I would prefer sitting as well.  :)   So long as when the player dismounts he quickly gets into regular standing position again.

With that pose, he generate probably the maximum drag force possible.

Except if his feet is clamped with the carpet and assuming no sliding between the two object, he will probably get the back injury if he persists using that style. :D
