Ok, HC....Please PLEASE PLEASE Fix this!!!!   I can't stand it anymore.  I can be standing right next to my target with nothing in my way go to attack it and it tells me the target is not in range!!!!  the target clearly is in range enough to be attacking me but I cant attack it til I move.  This is getting ridiculous.  I had this issue with my templar earlier tonight while in the crimson stronghold. that is about as open of an area as you get and im standing next to my target and its tells me target not in range??????  What?!?!?!?  how is the target Im attacking and STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO not in range????  Its the same issue when persuing my target...instead of continuing to follow my target (i.e. like when a party member draws its attention) I stop and get target not in range.  You folks have no idea how annoying this is getting.  Please fix this I beg of you.  I should be able to move to my target regardless of where it is. I should be able to follow a target regardless of where it goes.  Target out of range for a templar should be when trying to swing a weapon at a target across the room. but in that instance I should be MOVING to the target to attack it, not just stand there and get target not in range.

Can you tell us which attacks you were using when you got this message, it would be helpful to find out which ones needs to be looked at.

By reading your topic i can think of the following problem your facing.

You need to move to the target to come in melee range.

If the enemy is melee, it will come close to you, if it is ranged then it can attack from far, but you can't attack it from far, cuz u are melee.

But if you can not attack a melee enemy , who's attacking you[i.e. it is just besides you] . Then that's a bug.

Still thinking about new signature

My apologies for the long delay in replying to you Xero.  It appears that all attacks will generate the problem but I seem to have it with just the basic attack more than anything else.  And as enzor mentioned it appears that yes part of the problem is pebbles or small plants or tree stumps, things that you would think you could attack over top of because they are low to the ground cause the issue.  Especially if I am being attacked over top of the same object. But again, I reiterate that I can be standing in an open area with nothing around me and have the same problem.  The target can be inches or a few feet from me and its "not in range"  The other thing to is if the target is moving away from me as im attacking I will follow for a short distance and then stop because " target not in range".  That one in particular is a problem if I am in a group and a party member is being attacked and running away from the object attacking him/her and I am trying to chase it down and stop because its "not in range".  I should be able to follow anything I have targeted just about anywhere if I have already begun attacking it.

I dont know how else to describe the problem.  I realize that as a melee attacker there is a limit to the range I can attack from and I understand that but dont you think that if its out of range I should be able to move to the target I want to attack unless it is out of sight???

Just a thought.  I have been dealing with it but if by some chance it can be fixed please do so.  It would be very much appreciated.  =)  Thank you.  (if for nothing else than to listen to me complain) ;)
