I also advocate for Prowess... It has a nice ring to it, and TBH, I brought it up first in Global Chat...

- Have a new tree of buffs (Or possibly rework the current trees) to allow for a fourth section of skills that can only be gained with certain pvp levels.
- Introduce new quests that require pvp interaction to increase pvp level to possibly gain access to new hunting realms. (with possibly faster hunting alternatives, higher monster xp values etc)
- Introduce some new LE events (or modify some current ones) so that certain realms also require specific pvp levels to enter.
- New global events that require the FS population to kill itself certain amounts of time via pvp.
Perhaps you missed these incentives while reading my original post? They seem quite good if you ask me.
To me it all sounds like junk except the new buff tree, id pvp for new buffs but the rest of it is worthless. Im also afraid that the skill tree would be long in coming and slow to update like the one we have now.
although a global smashing event sounds like a lot of fun ![]()

If you start with 0 PvPXP, where are players getting the XP they win?
I don't think higher levels having PvPXP equal to their XP is an advantage. They earned their place up there already and it makes them juicier targets?
i disagree this gives an advantage to a "leveler" where those of us with lower levels "pvpers" will recieve less.....i would be near eoc if i had back all the levels iv lost LOL iv leveled just as much as them i just gave most if it back in pvp, so your rewarding levelers who "earned" NOTHING in pvp

This statement is pointless as Grim's response was made before he understood the idea fully.
He later agreed that a 'zero start' works best for all.

Not sure. Something to mull over. I'll bring it to Hoofmaster and Zorg's attention and see what they think when we discuss possible changes either this week or next.
here is where is am at a loss...you have said that you wish to get rid of xp loss, due to bullying, harassment, ruining of players games, and players leaving the game..but yet, by the time anything is going to get done - ( the new pvp system, which most players realize may take many months or maybe even a year or more to finally implement) , many more players are going to get bullied, harassed, games ruined and made to leave the game .. this confuses me...
are you going to get this implemented quicker.. or wait till after the new year, due to so many events between now and then..i realize it is hard to pin down a time frame...but you seem to want to get rid of this bullying, harassing, game ruining and players leaving the game, ..but still not doing that, keeping it the same way for what could be a long time..not making much sense to me..

Do we want a PvP system rushed?
Seems to me if The Cows take their time and maybe even Bata test, we will get a better system.
If rushed, The Cows have to deal with all the flaming posts... nothing better then constant negative comments to destroy moral, especially if the system in question was rushed by the very players flaming them.

actually no..not rushed, i know it is going to take many months....i am just pointing out the contradiction that is going on... with the cows wanting to end the bullying, harassing, game ruining and players leaving the game..but not doing anything about it for a long period of time...that is what i dont understand..

They could just take away XP loss from PvP and do nothing else.. That would still be loads of fun.. more players would join the PvP ladder and gold thieves would be on the prowl with lots of bounties on the board, even though XP loss is gone. They will get smashed by the rush of all the new bounty hunters. Counter bounties wouldnt be an issue, it would just be adding to the chaos.. The wild west..
I keep seeing all these posts about free gold hits in the new system and how everyone will be doing it. A decent gold hit is rare enough these days with people getting smarter all the time about hiding their gold. Just how much gold do you think will be out there ready and waiting to be stolen if "everyone" is looking to steal it without repercussions? Gold thieves weigh risk vs reward and go for the gold while most others opt for the safer side of play. The penalties for stealing gold are what make most people NOT steal gold. Without penalties the so-called free-for-all will dry up in about 30 seconds. Nobody will carry anything more than it takes to buy something for gold or sell it on the marketplace one dot at a time. Maurybund has already explained that merchants will stop selling items for gold simply because they won't want "everyone" to steal it from them. Gold theft is an important part of the game but penalties for those thefts are just as important and should remain as part of the game.

I could see this leading to further inflation of FSPs. The need to sell gold as fast as possible to avoid being hit for it is going to drive FSP prices even higher.

Easily controlled by HCS with gold sinks..
It's not controlled by gold sinks now so what magical gold sinks are they going to pull out of their hat now to control even more pressure on the MP?

its totally controlled right now.. The cows can bring out scavenging events and donation bonuses whenever they want.. If only they did them on the right weekendIt's not controlled by gold sinks now so what magical gold sinks are they going to pull out of their hat now to control even more pressure on the MP?
Worried about gold in hand for the thieves? Introduce a bonus(xp gain, enhancement increase, etx) for holding so much gold in hand! That's if hcs wants to encourage thieves.. Which is the reason I kept playing this game when I first picked it up. Wonder what game this Jedi would be playing now if it wasn't for all that stolen gold in the beginning
Looking for punishment for thieves? Buffs for spell removal and gear destruction can do a lot to a player who just paid a lot of gold for new buffs to PvP or play another aspect with.. Plus you'll see some real heroes that'll fight against these thieves whenever they see them on the board. How much gold is worth that 100 stamina and watching your back for 48 hours. Also Deflect is quite a bummer when you miss a swing at those shinies. Don't worry. There are lots of ways to hide your gold without shoving into the FSP market!!
The community will be a different place in PvP without XP loss. You'll see heroes and villians figting for justice or skulls.. Non pvpers won't be on their own anymore. Guilds and alliances of leveling guilds will stand up for their robbed.. Maybe some rogues too!

really like this post..and if i read doom's idea correctly..your pvp/xp will determine how much gold can be stolen..giving pvp/xp much needed value (pvp/xp vlaue is critical to this whole new pvp system working)..if it is at 0, very little taken..and should not really have to worry about bounty, as i would think not many would care if a few thousand in gold was stolen out of 100k for example....i am guessing (may be wrong) that pvp/xp will be able to be taken in bb, to keep players from robbing lots of gold all day, should be an excellent challenge to keep one's pvp/xp high, and should allow only the best at pvp and dancing on the bb to keep their pvp/xp high..
