Ok, Yod, I was waiting to think this through so as not to detract form your idea.  After rethinking it, it is sound.  I do think that there should not be any set amount of attacks to have the game generated bounty.  It should be totally randomized, to prevent exploitation.  Else, all  I would have to do is stop at "x" attacks and resume at reset, never incurring the random bounty...

 

 

Another thing, something I think should be addressed.  Many times I will have 10+ successful defends on a single bounty.  There should be some kind of reward for that, IMO...

ok bp. thx for input..as i have said in my latest posts..i totally agree with the idea that the game generated bounty should be random, and i also have come to agree that players should still be able to post bounties if they wish....that is why i threw my original idea out there, as just a starter idea....and see what better ideas could be added..like that one..for sure random, is much better...and i can also agree that defends on a bounty should account for something..whether it be a new medal..or part of the reward..or something diifferent which you may have in mind..

hello wil72, i am probably not the best person to answer that, since i have not done much pvping and bounty hunting "yet"..new system, that would change....me personally think "no" to counter bounty..as an ethic thing..bountying the bounty hunter just seems wrong to me, and would seem to make players not want to bounty hunt, i could easily be wrong on that......but...if it would help the bounty board have more bounties and help the game..i have no problem with it..whatever is best for the game...i am sure between the pvpers and hcs...they would probably know what is best for the game, more so than me on that issue....

I think you should have a right to bounty players that hit you on the BB!   I don't think you should be able to bounty the player that listed you.

 

I like the current system... 48 hours time to list players.

 

If I attack wil72 with 10 stam or 100 stam I am still taking PvPXP from him and i think he should have a right to bounty me.

    I think you might be on to something there.  You get rewards for bounty hunting, why not a reward for foiling an attempt at collecting a bounty?  The beauty of this, is that it could work in any system that's been discussed.

The player should ALWAYS have the ability to bounty a hit as usual, but for those who dont want to spend the gold.....well then they can sit back and know the auto bounty will kick in. Having said that if you clear a bounty off the board that was posted by a player, you can be countered, and if you clear one posted by the game you cant. Maybe bounty hits should not go towards the auto bounty total, since a bounty hunter is providing a service

 

Since we are changing the BB i think if i win 10 before the hunter, then they should get disqualified forfiting their entry (gold sink HCS) and i also think a hunter should loose xp, pvpxp....whatever we loose, when they loose a combat.....this requireing more skill and less fire at will

Auto-list would be abused .. why list someone if it will auto list.  And all bounties should cost gold or FSP hence the name bounty.

I kinda like the idea if I lose 10 times attacking a player on the BB i lose the bounty.  But I am not as experienced on the BB... Who loses 10 attacks?  Are they new players trying to learn Or are they just lower level player hoping for the 2% rule to kick in so they can brag?

Justinian, although it is rare, I have had 10+ successful defends on the BB from a much higher level player on quite a few occasions in my FS career.  Years ago, I suggested that such a player be rewarded with an "escape clause", where the bounty would end and the "accused" would escape and reap the reward.... This was shot down as too exploitable, and although I am disappointed that this skill cannot be properly recognized, I can understand that point

Back a long time ago i tried to clear a PvP player who was online... it was very difficult.  He was very good at switching setups on me... I understand what you are saying. Just did not think anyone could lose 10 while attacking but my experience is very limited

Auto list could be random, thus not allowing abuse, the player can still bounty, thus allowing for a guild to retaliate together (also ending in auto lists for them, and or bountys) you can not counter a bounty hunter for a game posted clear, allowing some players who fear retribution too much to bounty hunt without fear, and if you clear someone not auto posted we could still get the thrill of riding the board or WAR (also worth doing now since i can disqualify them or win their xp-pvpxp when they loose)......as far as your question, yes all of the above,noobs, low lev glory seakers, and hige lev players with not enough skill to fight me all can be the case, a true 2% hit is more rare then many think, most often it is a buff or skill win, such as piercing strike, or critical hit....i can slam against someone over and over until i get through since i loose nothing and eventually i can clear it, this is junk it takes no skill...... Now as far as penny said it could be exploited, yes if you remove the bounty i could just have a friend strip down and hit me 10 times and the bounty go's away...this is why i suggest the bounty stays, i get back my xp lost and the hunter is disqualified, but the bounty still must be cleared

 

this explains 2% fairly well: To hit in Fallen Sword the games rolls a dice, so your hit can allways fail because your character hasn\'t rolled well. It is built into the very game code that all attacks have a percentage chance to hit or miss. The range is capped from 2% to 98%. This is modified by the relevent skills, but there is ALWAYS a chance of missing your target. In Fallen sword there is no sure kill. Those who have a high Attack skill will have a tendancy to hit more and so be more successful in combat. It is a school-boy error to ignore the Defence skill as this will help a character live longer in combat ... (Your ATTACK - Their DEFENCE)+50% : Your chance to hit

i hadent thought of that, perhaps you could only use 10's on the auto posts, but not on the player posts....if you remove any way for a guild to go to war, then many will loose a LOT of fun. I live for when we are at war, i prefer it, it excites me to log in and see how much iv lost, and thus can take in return with bountys and a GREAT guild. It brings the guild closer together when they fight as one.

 

another option is that a 10 stam clear can not be counter bountyd where as any more then 10 can (and i mean 11 stam = coun terable) other wise youll have a bunch of us using 99 LOL

I really am not qualified to advise on BB... I barely have the bronze BH medal after all these years, you know how it is 9, 100 stamina hits and leave the bounty active for more mates to hit. 

 

I just want a good and fair system .. no advantages to attacker nor defender none to PvP players nor Leveling players UNLESS a PvP level or PvPXP bonus gives an advantage to the higher level (experience) player.  :) Must have a punitive action and if the cows give nice rewards for PvPXP players will want it and not want to lose it.

 

To be honest I am afraid that players will try and make changes that they can exploit.   Seem to happen alot.

This is how I think the BB should work... there should be a fixed range of PvPXP lost by the "accused" for each hit, based on that player's PvPXP.  The hunter gets a small amount (in a fixed range, regardless of that hunter's PvPXP) for each successful attack, plus the 1 Prestige point.  If the "accused" successfully defends, then they should also get a Prestige point, and receive some PvPXP, and the attacker lose PvPXP.  This is how PvP ratings were exchanged in the beginning and I believe this system worked well....

 

 

Anyway, my 2 Pennys and all that rot ~

 

Quick PS:  Obviously values would be multiplied in the case of a 100 stam hit... I'm hoping this option of play remains, especially since I love smashing so :)

I think that a player should be able to place bounties and the option of putting a person who is clearing the bounty should be put on the bb too. The reason it creates more bounties and if you pvp all know you have friends to help out in getting you off there and other options of that sort.  The 10 to 100 stamina needs to be addressed for some bounties. A pvp bounty is different from a gold thief bounty and just putting players that are removing a victim on bb is yet another bounty.  

 

Integrity of player's grit we was talking about in the other thread of  http://forums.hunted...-loss-from-pvp/

 

The deal is we have pvp/prestige and smashing hammer listings where 100 stamina hits count.  I am curious though if you hit the other bounties with 100 stamina are you going to have same style hit to keep those structures. 

 

The auto bb placement is not bad idea. I think if you are doing a ladder or points perhaps putting top x players listed could be used to start bb if the bb is empty.  This would give a random  and would change based on a reset of the structure but if we are doing levels ladders like now setup. It is only an idea.  If the bb is active people will be involved with it again across the board versus the limited version we have now.  I know when I first started a lot of different players were on there from many different aspects.   If we can get that dynamic back and have it not affect those that do not particpate in bb, pvp, gold thieving and such aspect only as in levelers and merchants.  I think would help get more involved in playing these areas we are trying to get active again.  I think xp is left alone and focus on the pvp pt process and improvement on bb hit structure will go far in the game.  

 

I am just throwing my few cents in here.    I do state that I can see many players views and hope that if what I posts helps inspires a better idea in aspects of this topic

wow..so many ideas...hopefully bg and company can sort thru this all and come up with a solution...but, enough with all the players that are determined to keep xp loss...get over it...enough with trying to make all changes in favor of the pvper...there has to be a compromise...bb is a tricky part of the game..hcs will find a way to make sure both pvp/xp loss and gold hits will be able to bounty..please stop acting as if this is not going to happen...this whole new pvp/xp system and bounty system is going to be better for the overall game..may not seem better to some...but the game is about everybody..not just a few of you..

The game could afford to put more gold into the game via bounty rewards due to the volume of PvP that will happen. Lots of equipment repairs and gold transactions on the buff market. Gold will be spent, sunked, and tossed around very frequently.

This would keep bounty hunters for the most part free of a bounty on their head while hunting since their target will be most likely empty handed..

BUT this could add a dimension where you could load gold onto yourself to force the bounty hunter to steal the gold and therefore get a bounty on them, one you could smash ;) ..even though this could be heavily manipulated, it would sink or move around a LOT of gold..

..might harm the amount of activity that the bounty system could push out.. Thoughts?

The only thing I don't like about this is that there is no randomness factor to it.  There should at least be a variance to allow for that.. other than that, sounds cool to me :)
