Although I am very much for the detection and removal of those that wield too much magic when hunting titans using nefarious means, I am thinking that the current tool in place seems to be harming more then helping?

My request is if the tool is really helping catch script cheaters now and continues to be effective, then great! carry on and lock this topic.

If it isn't, I would like HCS to reconsider the position on this. It seems it hurts honest players more then it hurts the magic folks as I still see them flying across maps whilst the rest of us deals with the message and our icons going crazy and requiring a screen refresh. Frustrating to say the least. Or go back to the drawing board and see what else could be done?

Thanks for considering.

From what I understand, this is only in place when in an area where a titan is out. I've never seen the message when walking across a map during a normal leveling session, only when chasing a titan.

It only happens when a  titan is present, whether you are hunting it or not.  It's annoying and seems to be largely ineffective for the purpose for which it was intended.  And it hurts the chances of the average hunter immensely, and it needs to be either fixed or removed soonest.

the script detection triggers when you character moves faster than 270ms so that means that one movement takes less that 0,27 of a second

I almost quit the titan hunting I did yesterday because of it. I'm on wireless and received the warning using both auto-walk and the key walking (key walking is a little faster than auto). The issue really causes a ton of problems when you have a faster connection than the script allows. I'm only using wireless on a slower laptop, so I couldn't imagine what it would be with my faster PC with a wired connection. I may try it later to see, but I really almost stopped my hunt - it's frustrating.

it slows us down alot.  It stops your movement and can jump you back 3 or 4 moves, not once but 2, 3, 4 times in a row.  I have had it where I cannot click on the titan to start moving again and had to click to move close to it.  If you are by a wall after it stops you you might continually get a message that says you can not move more then 1 spot.

Even when you attack the titan it seems to be slowing us down.. it could take up to a count of 3 to complete an attack.

for those with issues aka too fast internet :P get a bandwith throttle and set it to 271 ms that way you still move at maximum speed so about 3.6 squares per second and you won't trigger the alerts

another possible way how it can be triggered is when there's lag on either side ( player side or game side)

game side can hardly be evaded

player side can be evaded by not downloading things, plug in a lan cable instead of wireless internet, not having other people on your internet, opening as few as possible things that use internet

if all this fails get a new computer/laptop + internet ^^

Uh... riiiight...  <_<

Lag makes you move too fast? lol

game side can hardly be evaded

Complaining on the forum doesn't fix lag?

player side can be evaded by not downloading things,

Awww, no YouTube and titan hunting at the same time?

plug in a lan cable instead of wireless internet,

1 Gbps Ethernet connection to router: check.

not having other people on your internet,

"Honey! Kids! Get off the internet! Mom/Dad needs to titan hunt for a few hours!" Yeah that would go over well!

opening as few as possible things that use internet

Pages sitting there not pulling content ain't gonna "lag" your internet.

if all this fails get a new computer/laptop + internet ^^

You buying? :D

No, cripler's buying. :P  In all seriousness, your computer isn't causing the movement issue, and buying a new one isn't going to fix it, so don't worry about that. :)

Simple question. If it's not catching bad guys, what's the point?

And there we have the real issue as we all know it is doing nothing to either catch these folk or level the playing field...

well if the movement speed limit isn't in place people with really fast internet would be able to " teleport " from one side of the map to the other :P

Uh... riiiight...  <_<

a bandwith throttle slows down your internet speed to a desired amount thus making your internet slower on desired places :D it's just a program :D

another possible way how it can be triggered is when there's lag on either side ( player side or game side)

Lag makes you move too fast? lol

Lag may cause multiple commands to be prompted in a very rapid pace because your internet is trying to cover up the lagg thus gives you a lil boost say there's 3 second second one is delayed by half a second but second two will still be entered on second two thus causing half a second to prompt instead of 1 wich may cause the alarm to go off ^^

game side can hardly be evaded

Complaining on the forum doesn't fix lag?

well most of the game side lag is either from cloudfare or during the updates/content releases so yes this would be hard to evade

player side can be evaded by not downloading things,

Awww, no YouTube and titan hunting at the same time?

it's only if you're lagging :P if you have badass internet then go ahead and open everything you want

plug in a lan cable instead of wireless internet,

1 Gbps Ethernet connection to router: check.

nice stuff !

not having other people on your internet,

"Honey! Kids! Get off the internet! Mom/Dad needs to titan hunt for a few hours!" Yeah that would go over well!

be more sneaky go into the modem settings and block their computers of the wi-fi and else just pull out the cables or snip em

opening as few as possible things that use internet

Pages sitting there not pulling content ain't gonna "lag" your internet.

like i said baby things that "use" internet having ads on a page that refresh non stop and that on a couple of pages may cause lagg

if all this fails get a new computer/laptop + internet ^^

You buying? :D

i'm sitting here with my 8 year old laptop of wich the screen is no longer attached to the case  so i guess not

fastest they can move is 3.7 squares a second wich is indeed pretty darn fast :P

and i agree the other type of scripting where people just click run and then they get back to find that they secured a titan is just a no-no and indeed this should be stopped somehow
