If a player is unhappy or offended with anything while playing, then they need to send a support ticket and if that doesn't solve their problems it states clearly to cease using their websites. People need to take responsibilities for their own lives and actions. The name calling needs to stop. This is a game!!
Yes. Send a Support ticket and we'll deal with it. It's not name calling which is ruining peoples fun. It is an extremely small minority who insist on taking things to the extreme. Telling people to leave over this is not helpful.
PvPers who hourly attacks with 100 stamina were called bullies from BigGrim, the community manager.. that's around the time when himself, and on behalf of hoof said they were looking to remove XP loss from the game fully..
Actually no. I have never said players using 100 stam attacks are bullies. Please do not put words in my mouth. 100 stam attacks every hour on the hour is not bullying. It's PvP. However, when that is taken to the extreme, that's when it becomes bullying. That is what we are looking to stop. PvP is an important part of the game. Always has been. We've just been looking at various possibilities for PvP to make it awesome again, without allowing the extreme behaviour.

I was quoting HCS' Terms of Service. I want more people to play of course. However it is very clear some players are not mature enough to comprehend that this is simply a game. It is FICTITIOUS. No one is out to really steal anything, or hurt anyone. The problem that I see is that some players think the money they donate still has value to them. You are paying for entertainment! How much more entertainment you receive depends on how much you donate.
I'm not asking for a whole list but what would you consider extreme behavior Grim? Give an example please.

No can do. It should only require a touch of common sense. As is usually the case, if we provide one or two examples, certain people only see that as the rules. Remember the original Chat Rules? They had to be expanded simply because players would say "Not in the rules" when it's quite obviously inappropriate.

Sadly I think that is where it falls down Grim the common sense part ![]()

hitting that cap would be too easy for a network of players, like just The Evil Dead alone..
I don't know why you are throwing our name out there like that. We are a leveling guild, just check the top rated lists. #2 level behind FFS, but way down at #28 for PvP. ![]()

Indeed.
Nice. So I'm obviously one of the players lacking common sense, since I've even sent in a ticket asking for the rules to be clarified. I'm still very unclear on what I am allowed to do without getting in trouble. I will follow the rules as they are defined. But the game allows for a hit every hour. It doesn't say I can only hourly hit for a day or so and then it's too much. If that is bullying, then maybe it's time to change the rules so that those being accused of breaking them actually know what they are. It's very confusing to be told to follow one set of rules and then have those guidelines pulled out from under us and have nasty names thrown our way by the people running things. I want to work within the parameters of the game. But I'm idiot enough to have to have those spelled out.
We've actually had termination threatened because we dropped a player 50 levels and 0'd his gear. There were no nasty messages sent. No demands were being made. The fact this player hit 10 bounties on our guild mates isn't extreme? The fact we used Undermine which is a buff made to damage gear isn't considered? Nope, we're just the bullies for defending ourselves because we actually did the maximum damage we could do. Is it really so hard to see why that would confuse pvp players?

Defending yourselves Vs a Bounty Hunter? Seriously? If you were on the Bounty Board, it's because you hit someone. So no. It's not extreme for that player to hit bounties, sorry. That's what Bounty Hunters do.
Absolutely trying to ruin someone's game for an imagined slight? That's very much extreme.

Funny, my account wasn't threatened because I lost levels on the bb. It was threatened because I helped take levels off someone on the bb who had hit multiple members of my guild. Seriously, did you read what I wrote? I totally agree that if you're on the BB, you put yourself there and run the risk of getting what you deserve.

I did read it yes. It's confusingly worded.
You weren't defending yourself. You were trying to ruin the other player completely. Now drop it and stay on topic.

I'm not surprised. I don't want to get into an argument over how common sense can vary by differing perspectives. It's a broad brush stroke with which to justify just like the case-by-case directive. I get it. Don't paint yourself into a corner. So our examples will be our own experiences.

The way I read her example of how events were mistaken is precisely why an appeals process is needed to be used. Most don't know it's thankfully available if the player hasn't quit the game already. It's nice to remember there are two sides to each argument.

So 100 stam attacks every hour on the hour is not bullying. Its PvP. But if its taken to the "extreme" its bullying? I am so confused. I thought the most "extreme" pvp is hourly 100 stams. Can't get more extreme than that considering the game liimits you to 1 attack every hour which each attack can wind you up on the bounty board even if you're deflected.
I WISH we could simply remove the word "Bully" and "Bullying" from our game lingo altogether. Its PvP, no more no less. Bullying is a VERY serious issue amonst our schools and communities in REAL LIFE. It really has no place being used in a game because real bullying is anything but gamelike. Using the word "bullying" to describe PvP is ridiculous and offensive. If that was really the case, then all of us are bullies because we take full advantage of all those monsters, super elites, titans that we kill everyday that don't even stand a chance of winning.

I'll go out on a limb here. I think Grim has misunderstood what actually happened in the previous example given by Calista. The "bounty hunter" was doing more than 10 stam clears. He/she was stomping those bountys with 100 stam attacks. In return Calista et al stomped the "bounty hunter" and dropped them 50 or so levels. I was there and helped. Then the "bounty hunter" complained to the admins who took his/her side claiming this was harassment, when in actuality the admins missed a key fact: the "bounty hunter" was the aggressor on the Bounty Board.
It's easy to see if someone were dropped 50 levels for many simple 10 stam clear bounty hunts that this would be extreme, at least by "common(Spidey)" senses, but when the facts get misunderstood and confused by admins and threats ensue a lot of resentment arises.

Wait wait wait.....How can you be bullied by pvp in this game.
I would've said that the cows are endorsing it by making only those with dots able to buy pvp protection. Though since they added gold for pvp protection.
If in doubt about being bullied by a bunch of mean people, buy pvp protection, and have fun.
Simplez?
Now can we have bounty cap removed please *-*.

It's been looked at on a case-by-case basis in the past. Going forward however I think we need to clear this up and if required make appropriate changes to the system instead.
If someone is sending abusive / inappropriate / bullying messages then these should absolutely be dealt with (as we always have). The issue always seems to arise in support when a player is constantly targeted with 100 stamina attacks and the target feels 'bullied' due to the consistent attacks.
I think the best solution to this would be to change the system so that once a player is attacked, there is essentially a cooldown that increases with each attack (which would reduce as other players were also attacked - or instantly if the player is attacked back) - something along those lines anyway. I do agree it's something we need to address however and I'll bring it up with the team at our next meeting.
In summary, if a player is attacking another player in PvP and isn't sending abusive / inappropriate / bullying messages I don't feel this should be considered bullying. I do however think we need to review how often one player can attack another which should help players feel less targeted within the game.
PS. If anyone isn't happy with the response you receive via support, you can request it be escalated and another member of the team will review it.
