In playing another game recently I observed a very nice implementation for an aspect of FS that has always annoyed me and I'm sure other players as well, the fact that Level Up points assignment to attributes is permanent, requiring an expensive reset for reallocation.

Different aspects of the game require points in different attributes, even with hunting for example, depending on the stats of the Elite/SE/Titan you would probably want your attributes setup differently, putting more points in Attack, Defense, Armor or Damage as needed for that situation.

Not to mention the difference it would make in PVP, be it straight up or Bounty Hunting or GVG, being able to adapt the attributes to compliment your setup and counter the target's setup and points would add a whole new dimension to PVP and actually make Cloak more meaningful. Modalities could be worked out (for example, you are locked in to the attributes at the start of a bounty or PVP tournament), but it would be nice to have the choice.

By default perhaps players could be allowed to set up 2 or 3 attribute configurations with the ability to buy more slots like we currently can with saved combat sets or arena moves. No limit on reconfiguring points within the available sets.

Perhaps the up coming replacement for the ladder could be a good point to introduce this change. What do people think?

Personally, I really like the idea. HCS could add two new upgrades, one that allows you to first obtain the "default" and then the second allowing you to gain more slots.

Nice one mate.

Cheers.

Being solidly designed for PvP, it would be nice to adjust to more damage when I hunt (the only time I need more damage)  Yeah, Bovines, please consider this :)

I like the idea a lot - being able to have "combat sets" of level up points sounds a fantastic evolution ...

I'd suggest no more than 2 "alternative" setups be available tho - and, once those are "set", then the fee for resetting them comes back into play ...

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

don't hit the Post button twice... simple fix for now and who knows how long.. want to see if your post went through? open a new tab and look at the thread page..

this occurs when someone posts while you are making a post.. that notification that asks you if you want ot see the new post, doesn't work... for at least chrome since thats what i mainly use.. but the forum is a mess with chrome and it looks better with firefox

i have times when i'm posting on my tablet and i hit Post, it just highlights it in a yellow/orange.. but it didn't go through.. like it was a half arsed touch on my part.. i can tell the two apart from what will be a double post and what was a subtle click..

..... but yea... this needs to be fixed.. this forum doesn't work well with some browsers

Not true, at least technically not true.  Remember when people were dropping levels but still able to use the higher level buffs they had accumulated?  When the fix for that came out everybody had a forced reset of all Level Up and Skill points.  Granted, it was not at the convenience of each player to use the reset when they wanted but it was still a complete reset nonetheless.  Having said that, when I started taking PvP more seriously I bought a reset to better allocate my points for the new way I was playing.  Very expensive and those points could have been used to improve my character in other ways.  Even worse, the more times you reset, the more expensive it gets.  How many times have we seen people asking for an inexpensive way to reset their points because they didn't understand what they were doing when they started?  This idea is the perfect solution to that problem.  The only issue I see is what to do about all those people that have purchased resets in the past?  Do you refund their dots or just say tough luck, enjoy the new system?  Pros and cons for both but that will be an issue if this is implemented.  Regardless, I think it's a great idea and should be implemented.

I remember that reset Yote.  It was before they had the text boxes... and each point had to be entered 1 by 1.  It took a while, but my design was already set, and I put everything back the way it was.

Like the Idea and the flexibility it would give me. Having used the "upgrade" once or twice over the journey.

i like the idea but i am wondering ... we add buffs per how we placed skill points... this would mess up the entire buff structure of players.  Any ideas??

I know... but if I have no level up points in def why would i place skill points in a buff that increase base def ... if we get the right to change level up point then it messes up the buffs we have picked.  The complete structure or reasoning, if you will,  behind why we picked buffs changes if this is implemented.

EDIT:  Oh, i see. I used the wrong term in my post

Hence my saying the equivalent of combat sets ? - I know that I, for one, have more buffs than I'll ever use in my current build so this could be of use if implemented.

That said, I'm looking forward to new buffs and the associated free skills reset to take advantage of new and, hopefully, useful buffs :)

OK, I'll give you that.  I don't have those buffs, though, even though I do use them.  Well, I have rage and fury, because you gotta put points there anyway, and I have 150 in attack... I also have a small amount in the others, but not enough to justify spending my stam, so I  buy as needed.   Had you not brought this up, though, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Perhaps at lower levels this is relevant, but doubt it is at higher levels. Also, this would be a way to promote group play no? A guild should have all the complementary skills to work as a team, focusing only at an individual level kinda goes counter to team play required and promoted by the game. Also, with the addition of the buff market, access to buffs has become so much easier and cheaper, I for one don't see any issues with that aspect.

That will bring sense to a lot of low level buffs like Great Vigor, Rock Skin, Fury and others...I really like that idea.

But HCS need to be careful because the skill points are only avaliable after you allocate the LUP, and some players don't like to allocate all LUP because they want to stay at the same AL/VL, so this need to be figured out.
