That idea should NOT take place of the XP Event we always have.
My idea is to create a XP Event especific for low/mid level players, I'll show the calcs:
400% to 0% XP Bonus, applied by between lvl 1 and 4.000, distributed that way:
lvl 1 = 400% XP Bonus
lvl 4000 = 0% Bonus
So, a level 200 player will receive 320% XP Bonus, a level 1500 player will receive 250% XP Bonus, and so on.
Someone with better math skills can create a formula for that, please =P
Any toughts?

The 2000+ range will earn less than 200% XP that will disappoint many who usually dump a ton of resources into this event. I feel it might be a little overpower at lower levels as well. Plus the event currently adds +100% Xp not +200% so I think your theory behind it is a little misunderstood. If you mean to add that percentage on its gonna be X5 XP at 1, X4 XP at 1000, X3 XP at 2000 a little overpower right? At lower levels an AL 500 potion plus Reckoning 200 distilled will lead to massive XP gains (just those 2 buffs).

If the intention of this is to get everyone to EOC faster then it will succeed
If the intention of this is to annoy everyone who's worked hard to get to the higher levels in the game then it will succeed
The best we have, these days, is a 2x XP, so 200% of a critters base XP, before any AL is applied. There has been, I think, just ONE 3xp event and the cows have said that will never get repeated and you're asking for a (sliding scale, admittedly) 4x one ???
Initial levelling in the game now is easier than it has ever been - new improved buffs and gear make it a cakewalk - they don't need it any easier ...
Something to boost, perhaps, the mid-range players seems not too bad an idea but I have to say no to this interpretation ...
(I just re-read your post, and you want this IN ADDITION to the biannual XP event ?? - heck to the NO)

The 400% was just a random number, of course don't need to be that high.
Or just something easier to implement on the actual XP event:
For players lvl 1000 or less = 3X XP
For players lvl 1001 or more = 2X XP
Don't know, just want to make lower level players have a chance to reach bigger things on the game. (I know, we alread have too much things for that, don't need to say it)

Actually, they have a better chance. It took me from June of 2007 to December to get to 100. Nowadays, if it takes a week, they've only been playing part time. Many make 100 the 1st couple of days. Basically, leveling is already on a sliding scale, which is why we continue to build stam banks to make our hunts more productive. I would dearly LOVE to get an extra experience boost, but not at the expense of those who took the freeway to EOC, rather than the scenic route as I did. I don't need an easy button, though, although I wish I had that "variable LUP" thingy from another thread. Then I could 1 hit beasts like I do people on the BB...

Agreed - I see no reason to increase this and especially nothing above 2x for any level.

I think this is a great idea.
It allows for a more equitable distribution of an xp event. New and lower leveled players would get a big boost and make them feel more appreciated. As it is, an xp event doesn't do much for a player who doesn't have much stam, or even have the possibility to bank enough stam. Let's promote keeping the new player around even more. It will help the game!
On the other hand the selfish higher level player will typically be against this type of proposal thinking it hurts them, also that they had it harder to gain xp. Well, that will always be the case. Look at the uber buffs and gear that is available. I was only one hitting until about level 180. The game has progressed, live with it.

We could suggest that this go in place of the 2x xp event, but the higher ups may not approve of that.

I agree with you BigGrim. If this was to change there would need to be more End of Content made for triple event be fair to all players. I understand we are trying to get new players to stick around but excel faster than game content is not a solution that is fair to all level of players. I do hope though we can keep suggestion more creative ways to get new players wanting to be active more and want to explore all things that can be done in fs world. ![]()

If you want a different type of XP Event, why not give out a Conserve 1000 potion to all players for Christmas?
Conserve 1000 = 50% chance to use no stamina (vs players and creatures) so essentially 2x XP but it includes PvP
The player would then get the chance to choose when they use it.
Of course, while typing this up I do have my reservations as the smart thing to do would be to hold these until the next double XP event and use them then for an even bigger boost. It would be up to HCS to determine if this is something they would want to allow. Perhaps Conserve 800 (40%) would be more acceptable.
Just an idea.

A 3xp event has been held (to my knowledge) only once before and was deemed too much...
New players can level through to Level 100 in 1 day now if they're shown how so early progression, per-se, isn't the issue.
The fact that there are players of Level 2300 in the game when someone starts is irrelevent - that just means that new players have SO much content to play and enjoy ahead of them and is comparable to a new born baby seeing folk of 100 alive - do they wish they were older ? - probably, but once they ARE older, they often wish they were still younger (I for one, am far older in body than I am in mind)
There are many issues affecting player retention, but progressing through the very early levels fast enough isn't, I feel one of them. Do the lower levels need tidying up and making more linear with game facets explored - definately. This, I think, is probably more of an issue.
