Blue Tail, I really like your idea.  You have my vote, put in the poll already :)

Currently up I think.

I vote for option 1 but will hold out for now until I get a consensus. Currently I think #5 is a big addition but I think it will be a (small) temporary gold sink (some gold will be in the form of "Buff Vouchers") and will prevent undercutting for sure.

Once again I dont know if undercutting is an issue, people who sell multiple buffs can weigh in on that.

When you use the auction house to buy your potions, do you use the template searches?

Template searches? I see no saved templates for searching in the Auction House.

Actually, I do see a benefit for searching buff pack by user name. For guildmates. they could use it to buy from me and I can refund the charge. Otherwise my buff pack could get buried.

So this is a way to easily auto-buff friends/guildmates/consensual freeloaders while you're AFK?

Thats another point I was just thinking of: the ability to have a list of players/ guilds that obtain buffs from the buffer free of charge. This list is set by the user and they can limit the amount of "Free Stamina" used daily. Useful for lifetime buffers or guild buffing but I think its easier to just return the gold if one was to purchase.

Again, just a way to give buffs to certain players for free easily and automatically? So certain players can just say to certain other players, "Hey, I'll list my stuff for you for free, so you can access my buffs whenever you want at no charge, and I don't have to do a thing." That just turns "retired" players into stamina tanks for auto-buffing. To me, this just seems wrong, and kinda cheating the system.

I'm sorry, Cyrus, but when I got back it took me a bit to figure out how to work the buff market.  But I am comfortable in the game.  You've seen them in guild chat, they're confused a bit already, they only know they need buffs, not what they need.... So we tell them, and they come back saying that it's only for FSP, and we have to teach them how to use it anyway.  Why not make it a little simpler?  It can't hurt, and I think it could be good for the game.

This is a reading comprehension fail on the part of the user. I posted earlier what the page says. It's really pretty straight-forward if they actually take the time to READ the information on the page, instead of glancing at the purple spots on the page and then say that stuff is too expensive (often times followed by "can someone give me..."). I don't see how it can be made simpler. Use the search box to search for what you want, results will be displayed where it says "search results", and oh look there are ads on the side for random stuff visible upon page load.

I dont think you quite get the purpose of the thread Cyrus or what the features I've proposed.

Three things to make clear:

1. The guild buffing suggestion is not the main focus (see the first post on this)! It was an idea and I agree it could be abuse, I stated that myself.

2. The templates we are referring to are the "Saved Filters" under the filter criteria; I have them, you have them, we all have them.

3. The intent of these additions is not to make it less complicated (though this will be the case if it is implemented). The additions will make it more seamless to the user and overall cut the time it takes to use the feature (again read the first post).

You missed the bulk of the proposition.

* And on a side note I think its important that everyone understands the features of this game, especially new players or they will get fed up and quit. So I will produce a miniature rant (my two cents).

Now currently the two of us may quite understand all the features of the game but I still dont think its right to cast judgement on someone who lacks critical thinking. All kinds in our world, and keep in mind not every one here may have gone to school. When I first started playing I remember the most frustrating thing being "Where do I get buffs?" when all my guild mates were offline, that alone was enough to make me quit the game until I came back years later and joined my former guild before TED where I was mentored and learned how to get buffs, the FSH, ect. I would never play this game if I did not understand it. So Penny does make a good point which I've never thought of until now, that most players quit because they dont get the game (and I would further add buffs to that argument).

I feel a larger community is a plus so agree with catering to new players so we can expand the player base and keep more playing .

But that was not the point of the thread or the additions.

I've come to love the new buff market feature, it has allowed low level players to get buffs that they need more easily and has dropped the prices drastically to a more fair rate for all players to afford. Its also a great replacement to the find buff function on the helper but that is not the point I'm making. I feel the buff market could use an overhaul to make it more accessible and easier to use. Here's what I propose:

1. Quick links from a players profile to see all of their available buff packages!

Reasoning: We all know who the cheapest buffers on the market are, this option will help us see what other deals they have going as well.

2a. Option to favourite buff packages!

Reasoning: When in the market I come across the same buff packages, and I tend to buy the same ones from the same suppliers. If we could favourite buff packages it will be much quicker than having to search for the same buffs every time we need it.

2b. Option to favourite buff searches (search templates)!

Reasoning: Analogous to 2.a except in this case we just have quick search templates like we now have in the AH. This option gives us the chance to see if newer, cheaper packages become available (idea supplied by Yotwehc!)

3. Instead of a drop down on the buff names, have the buffs show up as we type them (similar to searching on google)!

Reasoning: If we start typing in the name and all the buffs with relevant spelling shows up it will be a lot quicker than scrolling all the way to the buff name.

4. Limit the amount of times a player can list a certain buff in their packages (3 or 4 times is plenty)!

Reasoning: I've seen people list the same package 3-4 times (no joke) preventing other packages from showing up and making the list extra long. Since this can be exploited to make us buy your buffs instead of another's who may have a better package, I think this should be implemented!

*5. Buy "Buff Vouchers" from the upgrades screen and use them to buy buffs (Similar to Bounty Tickets)!

Reasoning: The sellers will list their buffs in the new game currency "Buff Vouchers" where players must spend their vouchers (purchasable in the upgrades section for say 200k = 50 Vouchers). As for the sellers I am on the fence, they should either: (i) Receive a set amount of gold proportional to the vouchers spent by the  buyer (ex. if the pack cost 25 Vouchers they receive 100k) or (ii) Receive the vouchers spent by the buyer which can be exchanged for gold (similar to the Arena token exchange) where the rate is identical to what buyers must spend (for my example it would be 50 Vouchers = 200k). In my opinion (ii) could be abused with auto refresh so I'm leaning more to (i). The whole point of this is to prevent under cutting in the buff market (Ex selling the same buffs 100 gold less than another player). I think this is more fair to the sellers as people cant abuse undercutting. This will balance things out like having to bid 5% more in the AH. Buffs can still be sold for FSP as well but no longer for gold.

I hope the community provides some feedback on the additions I have proposed. Clearly #1 - 4 are are obvious improvements to the game feature, but #5 is up for some debate!

I like option 1 - many of us have asked for this a few times...

I have mixed feelings about #2 but I can see where setting favorites would be handy

#3 would take a LOT of extra coding and is just not worth it - I say NO here

#4 I thought they were already working on - definitely agree there

#5 I say no to - we don't need an additional currency in the game.  Things work perfectly fine with gold.

One thing I would love to see is a way to buff another player other than yourself.  This would allow you to buy hunting buffs for that new player you are helping along or you could pay Player A to buff Player B with Extend before buying buffs from Player B.  Of course, if that player has it blocked in their blocked skills, no buffs/gold should be exchanged.

I like most of the ideas, and find a lot of them as "nice" to haves. I have been lazy and completely removed my packages from my profile due to the buff market. Most of the returning customers I have already know my buffs, and that I usually end up giving them pretty good prices.

The one I like the most is #4, whether HCS is working on it or not. I understand the reasoning behind listing multiple times (ie don't have to refill, takes up more spots on the page, etc), but I think it's hurting the competition that was always buffing players. I'd like to see the same packs reduced, but not a limit on the number of buffs. For example, I have 7 different NMV, S/C and other packages because of varying levels. The only way I could see this changing is allowing players to pick the level they want cast on them, and the buffer always has it set at 150 (turns into 175).
