This is the same issue I had yesterday as well.
I have one stocking quest for Othalo, but when I tried find two different stockings (one from yesterday, and one today), it tells me that someone else has already taken this stocking... and if so... wouldn't it despawn?
I hopped servers, and was able to pick up another stocking... but not sure why the above is happening...

It happens to a lot of people, I don't know why.

it happens when you click on it at the same time as another player
they just happen to Learn the Quest before you
a bit sucky
