Decent build but my opinion as healer is that you dont need the mana talents from the prophet tree,1 point in EoM is enough.

Thanks for the input, that point and Dark Prayer are the two talent points that I keep wondering if I need them where they are.

The healer's resolve point in particular, switch to another essence of magic, or intensify spirit, or even Righteous Indignation? I see similar possibilities with the point in Dark Prayer (shouldn't chain be enough?), or add both to soothsaying... Just not quite sure.

Also, leveled to 31:

+talents in Divine intervention(2) (yes, its early, but want to get snowfall before taking mage talents)

Level 32ed,

thinking about putting -1 healer's resolve, -1 dark prayer, +2 soothsaying, not sure though. Have heard many times that healer's resolve is not worth it, but have also heard that it's very good *shrug*.

So, after further thought, I think I've decided to go wit 2 soothsaying, instead of healer's resolve and dark prayer. Planning on putting 1 point in it at next level (34) so I will have access to snowfall. The last point will probably be from level 45, so I may have it switched back to Dark Prayer by them.

Level 33 now, within reach of 34, depending on time due to holidays.

Best of luck everyone.

Updated with new gear and level 36. Viridian set is cool, but looks a bit like a blue turtle to me (could be worse, at least I don't look like a turd, like a 35 ranger would). Decided to go after Essence of Magic, so I don't eat so many pots soloing dungeons (spam fireball), otherwise not too much to report.

A high haste percentage is good for a healer, is it not?
Caligula --- Sintank --- Level 49.
Halt --- Rangetank --- Level 49.
d34thlye --- Sinwar --- Level 49.
Vitellius --- Healer --- Level 49.
Caligorilla --- Prophage --- Level 38.
Calinub --- N/A --- Level 1.

Haste is very very good for a healer (haste is pretty much very good for everyone). Right now, my haste is decent, but could be a bit better. I'm still getting the haste for light armor talents in the mage tree at this time. Those three talent points (mental agility) should almost be a requirement for any prophet, an extra 18% haste is huge.

Okay, I noticed a few things you will not need in higher level dungeons;

Sanctuary

Deliverance

Intense Focus

None of those will be required let alone needed, I can heal a whole team, who is dying rapidly simply using CC, DP, and my Spirit. Benediction, Rejuvenate, Dogma, and Snowfall are just there as backup methods. Don't get me wrong guys, I use them all, when required. So I do not have to wait for a CD when they're actually needed. If, they ever are ;). Personally I use Cauterize only for the tank. It's dedicated to him, after he does his Full Pulls, and turns around to run into the mobs (crazy fucker), I wait for his stun(pulls aggro), and then I use Cauterize to give full health followed by my rapid healing combo if needed. :D

I hope you enjoy the build I gave you, if you want points elsewhere, let me know, and I'll see what I can do for you! :D

Crit is realy good,10% for 2 points is worth it.Sanctuary is really nice talent if you dont have deliverance you can help the tank with it so during pulls he takes less damage. If you know the pulling pattern of the tank you dont need caut(even without knowing it dogma is enough usually),just use snow and spirit when the time is right.Dp is panic button like caut and FoN,my oppinion is that you dont need dp .Cc is enough which leaves you with 1 point to put whenever you want, personaly i prefer Fon over Dp.

@ Discrete

Thanks for the input, I'll take it into consideration, but most likely, I am set in where all my points are going. Right now everything works, and works quite well. When that changes, I do have a respec that I can make changes as I need.

I hope you enjoy the build I gave you, if you want points elsewhere, let me know, and I'll see what I can do for you! :D

Also, what build? This is my own creation, not yours?

Thanks for the input again, Scorp. I realize there's quite a few ways to go about making a healer, I've tried to maximize my crit rating with this one. Other than that, uh... what is FoN?

Edit: Oh... Force of Nature. I guess I wasn't really sure with taking that skill... *shrug?*

Edit2: also level 38 now (:

Forgot to update yesterday, but added new stuff.

Levelup to 42

Got Focus and Snowfall (:

Completed Forgedawn Set (complete with teddy-bear murderer hat)

Also, got critical rate over 50% (:

Next talents up are intense focus (for more criticals), then soothsaying.

Starting to work on catching up my Arcane Council quest-line. I only just finished 'Joining the Arcane Council' quest at level 37 or so to do the Dryad arc... lol.

Edit: Don't think I actually need to do those, will find out at least, cause I'm not doing them, Archmage Kephlar can get off his lazy bum and run his own cult.

Stuff you might wanna know :)

The intense focus from mage, 5/10% more focus, doesn't it only apply to base focus? It used to give me like, +4 focus at max level, dunno if they changed it.

Also, the upgraded version of crimson chain takes its healing from spell dps, not healing power.  So master of the arcane (+15% spell power from mage tree), and purification (+30% of healing power into spell power) will both increase crimson chains' heals.  But ofc both are strictly unnecessary.  And CC will generate helluvalot more aggro.

Force of nature + ancestral spirit is quite a decent combination for afk-healing, that is, you can just dps while they are active, usually.

Passive and active "increases healing by XX%" all stack multiplicatively, including critical heals.  So a crit heal is x1.5.  A crit heal during force of nature is not 50+50% = 200% heals, its 1.5 x 1.5 = 225% heals.  Everything the light touches, consecrated healing, force of nature, favor the righteous (if the tank has this passive), infused healing (for revitalize), and I got my revitalize to heal for 8k before.  But ofc, the talent point consumption is high.

Redemption + sanctuary allows you to buff tank before his pulls, letting him pull bigger.  With deliverance, it's excellent heals, but can't do the pre-pull buff.

Imo anyway, don't need 2 in soothsaying.  Usually just 1 is enough, because debuffs usually don't get refreshed that fast, and if they do, and you spam it every 5 seconds... well, serenity has a high mp cost.  Maxing it is more for pvp.

Intensify spirit is quite a good buff, just lay down a benediction and it gives +10% hp to entire party, more or less.

Too many good talents in prophet tree, but too little talent points to get them all :P

Yeah, so I also "tested" intense focus, and can confirm that it only applies to BASE focus, not total as advertised. I was thinking of a possible respect anyway, whether or not to keep deliverance. The points I had allocated for intense focus are definitely back on the table though.

That being said, I think I will definitely take FoN, it seems very good, though I am not sure where it will go on my spell bar, I can figure that out later.

As for removing deliverance, I am still unsure. It has been extremely helpful in leveling, and the few TR runs in dungeon mode that I have done, it has been unnecessary to buff the tank during the pull. A friend who is a less established tank is returning from holiday this week hopefully, I think I will wait to see how things go without a fully geared level 45 tank before deciding.

As has been mentioned above, haste is very important, I know Holy Vengeance is mostly a PvP skill, but I can see it being very useful in small groups and solo, could put 2 talents there.

The buffs to heal %, like Everything the Light Touches I guess I have stayed away from because of short durations, and talents that seem more worth the points. Intensify Spirit is another. Yes with some heals it's a free 10% hp, but I don't see the value when it goes away so quickly.

Interwebnetz is down for me at the moment... So I'm done typing on my phone for now. Thanks all for the feedback.

Well, reached level 45, hurray!

Also, having tested intense focus, I figured I'd test another talent I was on the fence about: Holy Vengance.

It's a pretty cool skill, seems great for solo or duo dungeon running, I'm not sure of the applications in complete groups though. Will continue to see.

Probably not going to respec till after I get some of 45 set gear.

Picked up a decent staff in a dungeon run, going to try and get it gemmed out.

Not much further to report for today.

First off... very cool thread. Thank you for sharing!  ^_^

Second. I just started this game and it seems pretty fun. I'm still level 6 anyway, played about an hour.

But since I'm thinking of going healer this thread is very informative as well as interesting to keep track of your progress.

One thing that caught my eye was that there are no restrictions as to what armor/weapons a hero can wear. And that seems pretty cool. Was thinking of going something like Templar with a shield and a one-handed weapon (don't like staffs - purely aesthetically lol).

Is that any valuable in this game?

@Farex

Thanks for reading, I've been a bit lax on updating lately, but also haven't really had any major milestones since hitting 45 (still tracking down ingredients for the helm).

What I've done here is for a dedicated healer in terms of talents. However, in terms of weaponry, you are correct, you can wear whatever you like! Due to the variety of 'hybrid' weapons (the ones that have 4 random rolls on them) at times my healer was wearing a 2h sword, 2 knives, a shield and blunt, and on occasion a boring ole staff too. Eldevin gives you the bonus points for all gear equipped, even if you don't ever actively use it. There are a few bonuses that DO require you to use the weapon that the bonus is on, namely the % chance to flaming strike/lightning/AoE and steal health. Additionally the % weapon damage bonus only applies to the weapon that it is on (a % weapon damage bonus on a sword will not improve your ranged attack from an essence).

There are a few 'self healing' tanks out there, that are true hybrids of prophets and healers, who always wear a 1h+shield, but I don't really know anything about how to spec their talents or attributes, it's completely different to what is here.

Wearing a shield can be very valuable due to the block rating, and unless you are equipping a very good staff, having a good 1h+shield is probably the best combination for mages, healers, and rangers (if the ranger doesn't have dual wield talent) before fabled weaponry. Most dungeons have a hybrid sheild, so just wait for one of those with good sorcery, sorc attack/crit, and focus (or energy).

_____

As for my own progress, I've been healing, I did finally put a gem in my staff, an absolute agate, will update gear photo shortly.

I've done successful dungeon runs through all normal dungeons. Just need to work on my gear a bit more before trying ASV.
