Just come up with this thought to get rid of some unwanted/extra gear, and also a potential gold sink.

Gear can be sent to a "store?" as a donation by any player. This gear is then able to be bought with gold from the store. The kicker is that once the gear is bought, it is bound so the only way to get rid of it is to destroy it, therefore players aren't able to abuse or make a profit from this.

This could help lower level players starting out to get the gear that they need and be more self-sufficient and even help higher level players as well to get the gear they need.

This helps the game economy as well by getting some sets off the market and boosting the prices. I think it could also help to keep new players playing as well.

The items would be exempt from Composing, Inventing, etc. Only to be used for combat, whether it be Arena, PvP, Titans, or NPCs.

Crystalline and Epic gear would be exempt from donating.

As for pricing, there could be a formula put into place (much like the one used when fragging items).

--Commons=5 gold times the Level of the item.
--Rares=10 gold times the Level of the item.
--Uniques=25 gold times the Level of the item.
--Super Elites=50 gold times the Level of the item.
--Legendary=100 gold times the Level of the item.
--For each forge, add an additional 25k gold.

--For example: A Legendary level 383 Xiphos blade is donated. Exellent/Forged 4 times.
-(Level*Legendary Price)+Times Forged Price
-(383*100)+100,000=138,000 Gold

Thoughts and comments are welcome.

How will the price of the item in the store be fixed? By level of the item? By rarity? Craft? Forge? By the donator?

Keeping it bound is a good way to prevent abuses, but more things should be putted in place.

The items should also be unable to be used for composing (never tried to desfragment a bound item. Is it possible at all?).

Such items should also be off-limits for inventing.

Each player should have a limit for the purchase of donated items.

--I'm unsure if bound ites are able to to be fragged or not, but I agree. The purpose of this gear should be for Leveling, PvP, Arena, and Titans ONLY!

Each player should have a limit for the purchase of donated items.

For sure. 15 items per week? 100 items per month? Not really sure of a number for that.

This is a really sweet idea.  I especially like that it's donated stuff.  I would even donate whatever SE drops I got, as I never sell them anyway (they just end up fragged in the end).

As for a limit  of items bought.  This could be okay in theory, but as quickly as lower levels progress, and with the many gear changes thereof (have we forgotten how often gear changes are between 1-200?)  I don't think a limit is fair.  This would only penalize that new guy who knocks the epic quests out with a quickness and hits 100 in a couple of days.  That would be wrong.  However, a limit for us big dogs would probably be a good idea, especially as many items we have will be kept for hundreds of levels.

All in all, this is a great idea, especially for players that have limited resources.

One more thing.  Donors should get some kind of incentive... like the angel pins you get when you donate to the United Way (yeah I have one of those, I wear it on my coat proudly)  It doesn't need to be valuable, in fact shouldn't be.... Maybe just a mention on one's bio would suffice...  Or we could bring back Karma (institute it?)

BTW Bound items are ineligible for fragging guys

There is a way to implement Karma :D

But I don't know, before we start to think about everything I would like a word from HCS about it.

I agree, donors should get something. Karma would be a great reward, but since it's not implemented yet I think I shiny new medal would suffice?

Karma is not on the table anymore, I hope the karma never come back lol

And I believe the donor should receive nothing, it's a donor, not a seller.

Nothing of worth but I think they should still receive a medal or something. Just an incintive to donate some gear.

If this donation idea is accepted, I would agree that a simple medal for a reward would be more than sufficient a reward.

On the other side, this would end up being the most useless medal in the game in no time at all when players start donating useless junk items that no one wants just so they can get the medal.

I could very easily go to the mountain pass, kill hordes of rats and natives and donate all the drops and quickly level up my medal to crystal in less time than those who are donating useful items can earn Bronze... just saying...

That's why I said there is no reason for a Medal, no reward should be involved on that.
