Rather than new skills why not make current buffs more powerful, or both?

Poll: At level 1800+ increase some buffs max level to 200. (16 member(s) have cast votes)

Would you like to have the ability to increase certain buffs from level 175 to level 200 max after level 1800+?

Once you reach level 1800+ ( just an example) why not boost a few of the current 175 max skills/buffs  to level 200 max.

( more skill points , currently 150 make some 175)  ... and then at level 2000 add some more ...and so on!

Or maybe both ..new skills and more power =)

This could really benefit the "totally awesome" long term players and EOC'ers  who have leveled with a little extra muscle. Those who have done the time and maybe want to flex their muscles  and profit a bit by selling buffs etc.

PS

Im not sure if this has been suggested before.Im not sure anyone will like this idea.

Also this isnt going to benefit me at all at the moment, being  the level I am, unless I buy them at the buff market..and i would buy them=) ... just an idea.

Been suggested and rejected before.  175 is sufficient with all the gear and pots available to make leveling easier than ever.  Increasing power just means an automatic win button so no thanks, at least leave a little room for thought in the game.

Considering buff enhancer already increases lvl of skills cast I do not think this would do any good.

a precedent has been set with composing potions greater than level 175....

as a "level-up point sink" - maybe have some select buffs unlocked to 180 at an increased cost

example - 20 (or whatever) points to get xxx buff up 5 levels to 180

At one time it was continually repeated by everyone, players and devs, that there were steadfast 'rules' that said x would never happen, it was part of the game. There's even a pinned thread stating so Frequent Suggestions [Before posting a new idea, read here!]. PvP protection completely changed that notion. Since then the game has spiraled into directions previously unthinkable. The devs essentially lost their credibility. So why not add bigger character skills than 175? We already have potions being introduced that are much stronger than any skill could be cast. One good point made is that it would make the devs job that much easier to have to come up with one less skill. That alone should make them consider this idea. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened, so I voted yes!

I'd be for this I think.

In the past I would have steadfastly said no way.

However now we have already gone past 175 with almost all of the skills, with even more planned for new loyalty potions. This has has the effect of rendering quite a lot of the 'cast' skills a little second rate.

This would at the very least allow them (cast skills) to gain a little ground, and let us super high levels spend a few of our thousand (s) of pointless unused skill points.

Davy, define "imminent"  I want to try some of them out..... I volunteer to be the guinea pig... so y'all compare notes, so as to not gave a bunch of repitition...

Oh, I'm way in favor of bigger buffs.  I have long thought they shouldn't have stopped at 175.  I need way more damage... every single hunt.

Not opposed to this happening for certain buffs. Would give the higher levels a small advantage again and reduce the gap between potions and buffs

I've been against this since time immemorial and I still am (if this is a "blanket raise them all" scenario) ...

OK, yes, there will be new, higher level potions available thru loyalty but ...

LOTS of people are saying the game is getting easier and easier - and this will facilitate that even more.

I'd love to see the game get HARDER again, have environments where you have to THINK before just mashing 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-R, wear the same gear for hundreds of levels...

If, however, this a VERY select few buffs that don't dumb down levelling any more (so, no attack, no defence, no armor and primarily, no damage), then perhaps.

Buffs that encourage players to participate in other areas of the game could be a viable option.

Buffs that encourage more players to titan hunt, to SE hunt, to PvP (*shudders that I actually even said that*), to compose, to make potions etc etc etc.

All that said, I'd still like to wait and see what the NEW buffs are (as and when they appear) before upgrading ANY buffs beyond L175.

Pardoux, why can't I have more damage, etc?  Leveling  IS  a challenge for me.  Wearing what everybody else does isn't quite right for a PvP build.  Better buffs could level the playing field for players like me.

For the majority of players, with access to the right gear, right buffs, and, of course, the "right" attribute point distribution, levelling is something you can do almost blindfolded with little to no thought. Whilst that may be something a lot of players like, it's something I dislike. I'd like the game to provide a levelling CHALLENGE again.

Maybe the solution here could be something that was brought up before, in a different thread - about having ONE more attribute point distribution layout that players could toggle between for a negligible sum ?

At this time we have no plans to increase castable buffs above 175.
